Leave No Trace Adventures

Had THE best guided hikes with Christie yesterday at Red River Gorge! She's a fountain of forest/animal/insect/plant/rock knowledge & made our hikes fun & informative. She tailored the hikes to our 65-74 year old group & we enjoyed every moment! She also set up the time for the Underground Mine boat ride that was a great end to the day & made some recommendations for lunch stops afterwards that were great! All in all a trip worth taking with Christie!!

We had a fantastic time! Just watch for ticks! Wish I had worn long pants and bug spray. Ice cold water provided and our guide was super knowledgeable answering all of our questions and took lots of pics for us. We want to go back and try some of the other tours.

We HIGHLY (!!) recommend Christie and her team at Leave No Trace Adventures. I personally can't wait to have time to come back to Red River Gorge (RRG) and use Leave No Trace Adventures again. The company offers tours, shuttle services between trail sites, shuttle services for special events and will also create a custom package for you. They limit their tour size to make it more personal for you. I loved the ease of pulling into a safe parking lot off of the highway, getting into the safe and comfortable shuttle and not having to worry about driving narrow park roads (some gravel and rutted which I would not have wanted to personally drive). Parking at the trails was crazy busy that weekend and we didn't have to worry about finding a spot because we were with Leave No Trace Adventures. They even provided us with water/lunch/snacks. But the thing we loved the most was the knowledge we received as we walked along the trails. The type of rocks in the sandstone, the erosion, the windows, the flowers, the beetles, the prior forest fire, and all of the history. We never would have gotten that deep of an understanding if we just walked a trail on our own. And they took a ton of wonderful pictures for us to have as memories. And brought us back to our car. No drama, all fun! When I retire we will definitely be back to have Leave No Trace Adventures take us to see other new adventures in RRG.

Like another reviewer's experience....we were ghosted by Christie. I made arrangements about 4 days prior to traveling to Red River Gorge for shuttle transportation and possibly a guided hike. Never could get in touch with her again...tried messages, emails, texts, facebook messages. The first day she finally texted and took us to Underground Gorge Kayak trip. We were to have a guided tour the next day and shuttle service on the third. She promised to call late in the day on Tuesday to make these arrangements. No word...no response. We ended up leaving a day early due to lack of transport to anything we had planned to do. Really disrupted our trip. Would not recommend...there is a problem here. She may be grabbing the clients who are offering the most $$$$. Don't know why locals are recommending her.

My wife and I took the 4 1/2 hour Arches Overload tour in early April and loved it! Christie Abrams was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and the environment of the area. Well worth the time and money!Dave

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED - my mother who traveled from Florida to Kentucky to be able to hike the Daniel Boone National Forest with using Leave No Trace Adventures company.  She made several attempts prior to her travels secure an itinerary for some guided hikes.  Which she was successful a week prior to her traveling. Leave No Trace Adventures provided a discount as an apology for all the emails that went un-responded to as well as the uncertainty that my mother experienced for this trip. My mother shows up for her first hike of her trip ONLY to be surprised that Leave No Trace Adventures once again FAILED.  They NEVER showed up to give her a guided hike.  My mother went on to hike by herself to enjoy the area. Let it be known that my mother is 73 years old which I have total faith in her hiking abilities and I know that she is a very strong lady, but to leave her there without anyone showing up or even contacting her to let her know that the plans changed is extremely bad customer service especially from what looks like a fairly new business. I would NEVER recommend Leave No Trace Adventures for anything.  They do not respond in a timely manner, they do not hold to agreements that are made, shoot they don't even show up for a guided tour....Hence the name LEAVE NO TRACE ADVENTURES.

At the beginning of March 2019, I contacted Leave No Trace Adventures and quickly received a reply from Christie, the owner of this company. We worked together for several weeks to set up dates and a hiking schedule, in addition to a place to stay while there in Kentucky, for the timeframe of May 14th - May 20th. Everything was looking good until about one week before I was scheduled to leave Florida. I then called Christie and she then sent me a confirmation of the hiking schedule, to include a discount for all the delays and uncertainty of the trip. Christie was fully aware of the distance I was traveling to hike with her company. She had my home phone, cell phone and description of the vehicle I would driving. Christie also recommended booking my accommodation with Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals. Christie asked that I not book on-line with Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals but directly with that company, which I did. I booked Pine Cove cabin on March 23, 2019 and on March 24, 2019 I received a call from my credit card company regarding two fraudulent charges that had been made to my credit card, in addition to the payment of the cabin rental.This was very special trip for me on several levels and for many personal reasons. My daughter and son-in-law were gracious enough to house sit and take care of my dog while I was traveling. I was driving from Florida to Campton, KY to take four scheduled hikes with Leave No Trace Adventures. I was at the designated meeting place, "Under the big flag pole at the Slade Welcome Center", at 7:30 a.m. May 15, 2019. I waited there until 8:30 a.m. and NO ONE SHOWED UP, no phone call, no text message and no e-mail! Needless to say, I did not even attempt to meet up the following day. As of today, May 22, 2019 I have not heard one word from Christie owner of Leave No Trace Adventures. Had I known that Christie's company was going to be a no show I would have made other arrangements. Given the fact that my leave date was so close I wasn't given the opportunity to make any other hiking arrangements, plus my cabin rental at Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals was non-refundable.
