We've been visitors to Lakeside as guests of members for close to 20 years. So much to offer, lots of different areas, and always a good time. A hidden gem in the middle of the Highlands. Kiddie pool, high dive, swimming lanes, float area, water basketball and water volleyball. Some areas are 4 feet, some 8. Grills and picnic tables. Bring your own food if you like but no aluminum cans or glass. Parking is on the street only. Overall a treasure, the highlight of our summer visits to Louisville.

This historic 1920's swim hole, really is quite a gem. Luckily I know a friend who gave me a pass, and I have loved swimming there this summer. The pool is huge with swim laps, kids area, fountains, and many other roped off areas to try out.I feel fortunate to know someone who let me get in since you can only go with a member or already be in the club! What a perfect place to make summer memories in Louisville! Jealous of the kids that grew up spending their summers here!

After a rough 2020, Lakeside is back and as good as ever. The lake is already 80° and the ice cream cones are stacked high again. The only thing that would make this better is a cold beer in hand.

First you have to be a member to attend or be a quest of a member to get in. But the facility is awesome to be right in the heart of Louisville. I think this might have been an old quarry but not sure about that. It is a huge swimming area with areas for floating, lap swimming, kiddie pool, and game playing (basketball) in the water. There are ample lounge and regular chairs around the entire perimeter of the lake. Some in the sun and you can always find shade. There are showers, a snack shop to purchase food and ice cream, lockers and plenty of picnic tables. You can actually take your own food if you want, but no alcohol. Parking is a major issue as it is street parking only and in the middle of the a highlands neighborhood. So it is best if someone drops you off and picks you up, it that is an option. Great venue for the city and the residents who are members and those of us who know members and get invited as guests. No pictures as I am always on my raft floating. They also have air pumps so you don't have to manually blow up your raft, a nice plus.

Such a gorgeous swimming spot right in the middle of the city. Whoever said they have everything and more was almost right. There's a huge pool, lap lanes, kiddie pool, several diving boards, an area just for floats, water basketball, water volleyball, gym, sauna, food, plenty of lounges and a nice fountain. I am a little surprised that there aren't any slides but that's really all they don't have. The cliffs with vines growing down the sides make it a beautiful setting.

If you're lucky enough to get an invite to Lakeside, don't pass it up! I was able to go as a guest recently and -- luckier still -- went here often as a kid, and can tell you that this is not a place to be missed. While the $7 guest admission is higher than some other places, it's well worth it. Lakeside is essentially an old limestone quarry that has been used as a swimming hole since 1924. It's now a modern, chlorinated pool, but there's something awe-inspiring about the limestone cliffs, wide lake, and pebbly concrete bottom that bring out the kid in me. Entering off Trevilian, one of the first things that used to hit me was the smell of food cooking on the grill at the snack bar of the clubhouse. I once worked somewhere with a test kitchen, and when they grilled foods to try out, it always reminded me of Lakeside in the summertime. While you're enjoying the thought of a tasty snack, look out and appreciate the raft-only area (complete with a fountain to cool off in), the float in the middle of the lake, the blue rocks on either side of the far pier. Tucked away from these fun attractions are 25- and 50-meter lap swimming lanes, a vast 4-foot area to swim and walk around in, a Kiddie Pool (once memorably called the "cat pool" by a young swimmer who thought we were calling it the "kitty pool"), and even a full gym with cardio and weight equipment in the clubhouse. While I lounged on a raft reading a book during my most recent visit (something I thought was super boring when I came here as a kid), all I could think of was how many kid memories I had here. One was the first time I went off the diving board by myself, making my mom stand by the ladder like a security blanket for when I got out, and when - the next summer - I went off the high dive without chickening out for the first time; that year no mom was necessary -- I was a big kid by then. Then there was the time I made it across the lake without needing to stop at the float to catch my breath. In between the accomplishments like that were memories of "deep sea diving" for rings or sticks in the 8 foot drop-off just past the 4-foot area. For the young, and the young at heart, Lakeside is a great place to while away a summer day, and one you won't soon forget. Pack a picnic, don't forget the SPF, and let your cares melt away in the closest thing to paradise in the heart of Louisville.

What DOESN'T this pool have? Not very much on that list! Kiddie pool, check. Heated pool with swimming lanes, check. Two diving boards (high-dive and low-dive), along with several more swimming lanes available. There's also an indoor fitness center upstairs (ages 16 and older only), and many other amenities such as lockers, concessions, picnic tables, several lawn chairs for tanning... There is also a floats-only area in the larger "Lake" pool area. There is difficulty with parking, since the entrance is on Trevilian, but sometimes you can find a good parking spot...! However you're more likely to find a far-away place to park & may have to walk quite a ways to the front entrance.Memberships are also very expensive and will take a few hundred dollars from your bank account. Wouldn't trade this pool for the world anyhow! Been going here since I learned how to walk.

So relaxing. Clean privately owned park. Had the opportunity to meet a couple friends poolside. We floated in the water as the day drifted by. The water is clean. Plenty of space to lay out and catch some rays. They offer food, drinks, and sweets for a price
