Free train museum We stoped by on a drive thru. The top of the museum has train history with descriptions and antique items. The basement has a train display setup. The whole room only had one train in operation so the kids did not get the full experience. They also have a kids room upstairs. The best part is the restored train outside. It has a caboose and dining cart that you can walk through.

Located in the L&N Train Depot that was built in 1914 in LaGrange KY.The museum is open on the weekends. Tours are given by the Historical Members. The museum is a work in progress and contains model trains, railroad artifacts and a library full of memories and facts all about trains. Outside there are engines and cars you can visit. They also have a 1929 Dinner Car that is available to rent for Birthdays, Meetings, and other events.Oldham County is the perfect setting for a railroad museum. The train has been the County's major focus since the mid-1800's. LaGrange in Oldham County, KY is the only city in the USA that has a train that runs directly down Main Street. Passenger trains and freight trains have passed through Oldham County for almost 150 years!

This little museum is pretty artifact rich and does a great job sharing LaGrange's local railroad history. They also have several model railroad layouts on display as well as a caboose and dining car that you can walk through. It's definitely worth a quick stop if you like railroad history.
