La Petite Academy of Lexington

My 13-month old son has attended La Petite for a little over 2 months, and it has been a really good experience. The staff are very skilled and caring. My son has been doing well here and the max ratio is 4:1 instead of 5:1. 5:1 is the state defined max ratio for infants, and it's what a lot of other daycares in the area are doing. Whenever I have a concern, I can freely express it without the administration or staff getting defensive or ignoring me. It feels more like a partnership than some of my other experiences with childcare. In the past, I've felt I had to advocate for my son to help him get what he needs,. At La Petite, staff are proactive about meeting his needs. For example, the teachers noticed my son seemed to be cranky before their first meal, so they suggested we feed him a solid meal at home before bringing him in, and this helped him do better in the morning. I had concerns about a diaper rash that developed shortly after he started, and the staff were very responsive about using his diaper cream more often and it resolved quickly. They also have a great app, which helps with communication with his teachers, especially now that we can't see them in person with the COVID-related restrictions.My son had trouble restarting daycare after the COVID break (e.g. crying at drop-off), but he adjusted in a couple of weeks and is excited to see the staff in the morning. He's all like "Later Mom" and then reaches for Ms. Betty.La Petite is more expensive than our prior daycare and any other place I toured in Lexington when I was pregnant, but for me it's worth the extra money because the care is great. If you can get a space there, I recommend taking it.

Both of my children attended daycare here between ages 6mo (+/-) and about 18months - 2 years.I highly recommend this daycare, as all the staff was very patient and loving toward our children, and I always knew that they were being well cared for when I dropped them off.La Petite tries to engage the kids in activities, and every day my kids came home with art/craft projects, and I would often find them having 'circle time' listening to a story being read to them when I came to pick them up.

Love the place. It was for the first time my 18 month old was staying away from home. Every one at the day care were really nice, especially her teachers. She grew so comfortable with them, learned to sleep on her own. They would pat her n sit next to her till she went down for a nap or held her if she was crying. I am glad we decided to go here.

My daughter started attending in January and I am very pleased with the childcare that she is receiving. My daughter was sheltered for her first two years of life due to the pandemic. My daughter had no interest in other children and would play by herself until going to La Petite. She has really blossomed under their care and my family will be forever grateful. My child now participates in group play and plays with children individually. I toured some other daycares and was a little unsure until I took a tour here and I noticed that the children all looked happy no matter what age group they were in. My daughter runs in and hugs her teachers when I drop her off. They also have a great learning curriculum and standards that they follow. My child is thriving academically and also engaged. There is also no screen time at this facility and when weather allows they are outside enjoying the fresh air and environment. This facility has many safety features and I can leave knowing my child is safe and all safety measures have been methodically put in place. My child is changed regularly and has never had any incontinence rashes. My child is happy and well on her way to being prepared for pre-k and kindergarten

horrible. I attentined this daycare years ago. Ms Kim was horrible to me and they didn't care about my needs at all. I was always so excited to leave. I have had a horrible experience there and it was honestly the worst daycare experience I have ever had. I understand you all are trying your best. And I'm very glad about that, i only had a horrible with a teacher and some kids. Over all it was ok.
