La Herradura Mexican Bar & Grill

WOW. We were staying at the Fairfield 700 ft away The service was phenomenal The beer cold and priced SO fair!!!The decor was lovely! The cheese dip with grilled sliced jalapeno was yummy The homemade chunky guacamole was SO fresh The chimichanga chicken was so good!! Next time I visit Bardstown, I will return BRAVO from the Atlanta group

Five stars for accommodating us, a party of TWENTY without a reservation. We are in town for a wedding and had a case of the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing anyway, my brother and I went in and asked if they would be able to manage us, so the server went back and checked, came back with a smile on his face and grabbed a bunch of menu's and said "follow me". If you have never been, this restaurant has big, high back chairs and several long tables that can accommodate 12 people, across the walk way are booths that can easily accommodate 6 people so he assigned that booth and the table that aligned with it, and it was perfect for us. Now we are from Texas and are accustomed to Tex-Mex which looks the same as Mexican food in most cases, but the flavor is different, not a negative in any way, shape or form, I had the Birria Brisket Tacos, and they were delicious, the brisket had different aromatic herbs than I'm familiar with, but again not a negative, just a different flavor, I would definitely get them again, my brother got a gigantic burrito that looked exactly like the picture on the menu, I do not recall the name, but on the burrito page of the menu, it was the first one, and it was about a foot long, and 4-5 inches in diameter, he ate every bite! The service was outstanding and I forgot to mention this was about 5pm on a Friday night, several people ordered adult beverages and they all were so pleased, I saw some kind of pineapple/jalapeño margarita, Strawberry daiquiri's with whipped cream in big schooner type glasses, I saw a Red Bull marg, and a Grand Mariner Marg, so if you want a nice drink, that's your place! 10/10 would visit again, we all enjoyed our food! (P.S. sorry I didn't take pictures, but truly the food looks exactly like the menu pictures!)

After a day of drinking at the distillery's Bardstown has to offer we figured we needed something heavy and what is better for that then Mexican food. We arrived for an early dinner and had no problem getting a table. Our waiter brought us chips and salsa and we of course had to get queso too. After looking at drinks I needed something that wasn't bourbon so I went with The G" Margarita. This is a 32oz frozen margarita with a little bottle of Grand Marnier on top. This was also very tasty and hit the spot. For my entrée I went with what I normally get at a Mexican restaurant...The Burrito California with Steak. Our food then came out pretty quickly. For $12.99 this burrito was huge and loaded with steak. I will also say this steak was very tender too. Steak can always be hit or miss at Mexican restaurants and be extremely tough but not here. Honestly all around both food and drink were tasty and well priced. My G" Margarita was $12.99. All their taco options were also $10.99 for 3 tacos. Really the only off part about the tacos was that they are served with white rice. They also have Birria Tacos which everyone knows are in right now. I would for sure say after a day of drinking bourbon at the distillery's this is the place to fill up and maybe get yourself a margarita for a change of pace.

We arrived on at dinner time on a Saturday night. I had called ahead to see if we needed reservations but were told "Not if you only have 2 people". Wrong answer. It was obvious they were shorthanded and we should have made a reservation.The place was packed yet they sat the 2 of us at an 8 person table. Go figure. I half expected them to ask if they could seat someone at the other end of the booth. Service was slow, but the food was good. I had a taco salad that had at least a dozen shrimp in it. We had not planned to stay as long as we did. I suppose if I had wanted a slow and leisurely night out this would have been ok, but an hour and a half for a light dinner is a bit longer than I like.

The food was very good. We asked for a hotter sauce and we got a very good spicy version to go with our salsa. The service was just okay. It took a long time for the staff to get our drink order ( 2 margaritas) and even longer to bring them. We are quick learners so we ordered our food as soon as our drinks came. The food order came out much quicker. Overall a good experience. We will return if ever back in town.

The service is great but food was extremely oily tasting, will not be returning the inside matches the theme but it's too busy for my liking

Wow! A buddy of mine and I in Bardstown to enjoy bourbon, (he has lived his whole life in TX & I spent more than 1/3 of mine there) we landed at the restaurant by accident. Boy are we miserable...from enjoying the visit....Not only was the food extremely good, but the prices very fair. Don't hesitate, go now.

Stopped here for lunch before heading out for the day. Glad we did, it was right by the hotel we were staying at so it was convenient. The menu was huge and the prices were really good. I ordered the cheesy quesadilla fajita which was an appitizer but very filling. My husband ordered a burrito which was HUGE! Everything was delicious. Our only complaint was that the waitress wasn't super friendly, spoke very low and was hard to hear. She was efficient and did her job well, just wasn't personable.

First, the service was great and everyone is very friendly. Thanks to Gordie and team for a great experience. I recommend the prime rib fajita and their shrimp cocktail. Superior!!! Marg needed a little help from Jose C. They have a spicier salsa for the chips if you need it. All in all, I will be back and highly recommend.

Ordered the enchiladas suizas plate and I have never been more satisfied with a Mexican dish from a restaurant before. The texture of the sauce is a little thicker than the enchilada sauce I grew up on. On the first taste of the sauce I knew this place was a gem!!! The customer service here is also outstanding!!!Highly recommend for anyone looking to eat a good Mexican meal!!!
