If you're looking for a nice place to have lunch then this cafe is the place. It's located in the quiet, sleepy town of Westport just down from the river. It's a neat little country store with the cafe on one side and the store on the other. The store offers a wide variety of homemade crafts and Kentucky branded. On the other side is the cafe. They have a relaxed menu with everything from a cup of soup to a Club Sandwich. And a really nice addition are the Pies, Cakes, Cheese Cakes and creamy ice cream. I choose the Club Sandwich with a side of Blu Cheese Slaw. The sandwich is huge and could be shared. I chose to take a 1/2 home for dinner. My wife got the bowl of Cheesy Potato Soup. The bowl was also huge and delicious. We couldn't resist ordering a piece of Turtle Cheesecake. It was also huge and one of the best we've ever had. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxing. On various weekends they have bands that come and play on the front porch. We have plans to come to the next "picken on the porch" and enjoy another wonderful lunch.

We loved this little restaurant and the little shop inside. A ton of beautiful handmade items, the dessert selection was amazing, and I can't wait to come back!

Pretty good store and little cafe out in Westport. It's really the only reason to go out to Westport unless you're putting your boat in the Ohio. The store side offers a lot of kitschy things that relate to people who live in Kentucky. The cafe is small too, but has a pretty decent menu. We went for lunch and got the spicy stuffed pimento, fried bologna, and a coup of cheesy potato soup. The pimento was interesting-it came with jalapeños, strawberry jam, and bacon. Reading about it it doesn't sound good but want to try it actually turned out really, really good. The fried bologna was nothing to write home about, but it wasn't bad. The sizes weren't thick enough and it wasn't fried enough to my liking. Doesn't mean I didn't eat every bite though. The soup was good, too.The hash brown casserole was (for me) ok. I get why others on here rave about it, but it tasted exactly like the soup we got. Key lime pie was... well, I wish we had gotten a piece of something else. They have a lot of different offerings and I think it change change daily. Since this place is out there on its own I think the sort of price gouge. Sandwhich and a side was 16. For bologna? Yikes. If you happen to be in the Westport area, go check it out, just be prepared to be setback for about $40 for lunch.

Great hometown place for a casual meal and shop for Knick knacks...if you're into that sort of thing.

We both enjoy eating at Knock on Wood. Granted it's out in the middle of nowhere but we try going there after a visit to Yew Dell Gardens. It's a cute little place with good lunch/sandwiches and friendly service. We both got the quiche with a side plus shared a piece of their sinful peanut butter pie. Nobody makes a better peanut butter pie in our opinion. I also had a cup of coffee to wash it down. Like everything else these days the prices have gone up. By the time you added a 20% tip the bill came to over $47. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure now.

Knock On Wood mixes food with shopping -- two of my favorite things! This country store up in Westport, Ky., makes for a great destination on a drive up U.S. 42 along the Ohio River. It is chock full with country chic home decor, including art, pillows, kitchenware, furniture and more. Seriously, everywhere you look is a nook containing even more items, but the store still seems organized and well laid out. While this normally isn't my aesthetic, I normally spy something that I want to take home with me. The owners carefully curate the items in their store. And when you're done perusing, make your way over to the cafe. All of the food is homemade, and I haven't tasted anything that isn't delicious. Particular favorites include the buffalo pasta side, benedictine sandwich and sirloin burgers. The desserts are also decadent and fantastic, and if you're not feeling like pie, they usually have ice cream as well. Take a trip to Westport and visit this quaint shop! They also regularly host events, so follow them on Facebook for the latest.

Brought a friend down the hill who used to live in Westport for a bite to eat at this great little cafe. I asked the young lady for a recommendation for lunch today. She suggested the Grilled Stuffed Spicy Pimento Cheese sandwich. I explained that I couldn't handle a "too spicy" sandwich. She assured me it would be ok. I ordered one of my favorites for the side; pineapple casserole.Wow, what a delicious sandwich!! Messy, but oh so good! It is made with homemade spicy pimento cheese, strawberry jam, bacon, and jalapeños( from a jar; not fresh, so not as spicy), on white bread that is all fixed like a regular grilled cheese sandwich. Nice and melts. I think this is my new favorite. It did have a little kick, but not too much for me. The pineapple casserole was a perfect side for this sandwich.Check out pics of this meal then get on down the hill to try for yourself. You will be glad you did.

It was a little pricey, but the stuffed pimento cheese sandwich (pimento cheese, canned jalapeños, bacon, and strawberry jam toasted like a grilled cheese sandwich) was DELICIOUS! I'm not sure who created that concoction, but it works beautifully. I got that with pineapple fluff and a piece of coconut pie. My husband got a wrap with hashbrown casserole, and ice cream in a waffle cone. Everything was delicious! We didn't get pictures because once we started eating, we couldn't put it down.

Might add a 5th star once I revisit for the amazing looking desserts! This is a charming little out of the way restaurant/cafe/shop. Breakfast was made fresh, quickly and fit the bill with homemade goodness. Shopping was fun with a little bit of everything - foods, jewelry, art, clothing. We will return for sure!
