This pool is about an hour and five minutes away from Lexington. If you dislike the pools in Lexington, you may love this low key State Park pool, it's well worth the drive out from Lexington. This pool overlooks the lake, it's gorgeousness you see as soon as you pull into the parking lot. The only bad thing is that once you're inside of the pool area, the brick wall obstructs your view of the lake... bummer. The pool goes up to 8 feet deep. The entry fee was $4 per person, but because we were camping, we got the $1 off per person discount. This pool is located just before the registration gate of the campground, so we just walked down one morning. I didn't know that they didn't open until 11am on the weekends. So we walked down along the grassy area of the water's edge, there was even a picnic table. Yes, I was up way too early, but I just wanted to experience as much of the area that I could. They weren't ready to open at 11, so we sat down on a lounge chair just by the entry gate. When they were "ready" a young girl came out and rudely informed me that we had to pay. Not "ok, the pool is ready now, you can now pay". Really?! I attempted to pay and you said you weren't ready because the chemicals were still being tested, so I'm patiently waiting still with my coverup on. Why I couldn't I have just paid one of the three of you at the window... Not attending to the pool or its chemicals, I haven't a clue. Kids these days! Then after we paid, we had to wear an orange bracelet... annoying when you're trying to catch some rays. Overall... the pool is NICE, so I won't knock it too much for the kids.

What can I say? We have been going there to the pool for a couple of summers now. Last August, I lost my leg to an accident and now need help into a pool. I called Jeff and asked if they had a lift chair to get handicaps into the pool. He said yes. I told him we would probably be done on Monday. We live north of Cincinnati. Not only did they have the chair, they had the hose hooked up for me to run it. He even sent the maintenance guys down to see if it was working! They approached me and asked me if it worked. I was so floored by the concern of getting ME into a pool! We had a blast and will be back! Thanks Jeff!

Only $4 and $3 (age based) for kids to swim all day?! Always sparkling clean and lifeguards on duty. Shady and sunny areas. There are some tables and lots of chaises and regular chairs around entire pool. Kiddie pool is fenced off and it's never been over crowded when I take kids. Worth the price even if just for a few hours. They say no bringing in food, but everyone has snacks and drinks with them. Nobody has ever said anything. Phone service is spotty in that area. We have AT & T.

The pool is nice and cool and they even have steps you can get in. I'm a larger person and they even held me and i got my big ole hips through it easily. I will say they do need to redo the bottom sometime as its getting pretty cracked. Especially in the shallow end.
