My husband and I were looking for a new place to hike. We had heard about Kincaid but had never tried it out. The website has good information about the trail options and overall park. However what we found was a park in need of attention. The trails were marked with orange ribbons on trees which we were thankful to see because the path was pretty overgrown. The restrooms were clean and operational. The playground equipment and grounds need better upkeep. The sand volleyball court was totally covered with grass. This park could be a great destination but it needs TLC.

Used their campground twice. First time the internet was out which they didn't bother to tell us when we booked. Which made matters worse was that there's no phone service at least not for T-Mobile. I needed the phone and internet for work and spent the whole time going back and forth in and out of the park to get a signal. The second time they assured me it was fixed so I tried to park for a second time... same issue. I realized things go out and break but the staff could care less. When my home internet goes down I make a phone call. It wasn't like they had other things to do. The park is a little bit rundown as well. Now I know campgrounds are for relaxing not cell phones not internet but I need it for work It's a necessity. If they don't have it they shouldn't advertise that they do. I am never going back, ever.

We attempted to go kayaking with the recommendation of other reviews. However, we arrived and there weren't really people there. Also, the water looked really dirty. We did not end up kayaking here and I would NOT try.

Stayed at site 71. Fairly level (less than 4" needed for level). We don't use the facilities so can't comment. Place seems clean for the most part. WHOLE place is on a slant. There might be 5 level sites in the entire place. Water for this site was a full 50' hose away from camper (on the other side in between 71/72. Our site had a very large, very dead/dying tree right on back corner. Looming over us with impending doom. Which tells me, they don't maintain the sites very well or dead dangerous stuff would be cut down. There are many around the entire grounds. Over priced bundle of wood ($6) was NOT seasoned! And broke apart as soon as I picked it up. Lowlight of the trip was the horrible guy renting boats at the dock. (Saturday 7/12/14 incase management wants a record of their less than adequate employees...)Guy seemed like he could care less about being there and was rude when inquiring about rates/availability. They don't take CC for the $50 deposit (why? It's 2014!!!!) so beware of that...Why is it so difficult to hire someone that is enthusiastic about their job? This dude didn't seem like a quality employee. Short and rude with most that came out his mouth. "Don't touch the water!" "Don't go here". Will never use their services again. Might stay at camp again, but not in our top 10 for the area. Pool was ok. Crowded on Saturday.Another point for "management" WHY do you kick everybody out of the pool for 15 min when YOU ROTATE LIFEGUARDS!?!?!?! Do we need you to tell us to take a break? Are you the government? We need to be saved from ourselves??? And speaking of lifeguards, 1 LG for a pool the size of 2 Olympic Pools is RIDICULOUS! Kids could be drowning at the shallow end and they would have NO clue! I watched them for 20min. They don't monitor/sweep as good as say... Kings Island LGs.

This was our second attempt at camping with our new camper. We chose this spot because it was only one hour and five minutes away from Lexington. We checked in just before dark time on a Friday. I say dark time instead of sundown, because it was RAINING. I don't ever want to try that again. Setting up in the rain was not fun. My husband is always in charge of reservations and he said that there were 30+available sites, when he checked online that morning. So he called to confirm that the website was live with actual availability. He said that the lady on the phone was quite rude. But she was nice when we got there. Once we got there and to the site that he booked (site 53) we decided it wasn't what we wanted. It was in the middle of two rows of sites and close to a play ground. We drove around and picked a site that we liked better. We still had to go back to check in and change our site reservation, of course. We chose site #46 because it had a lot of green space and backed up to trees. The green space was a bit sloped, but the camping gravel pad was fairly level. During the two days we were there, we walked around the entire campground and looked at the sites, so here's my observation. -All of the few lake front sites are primitive, tent only sites and nowhere near a bathroom, but there was a portapotty though.- KIDS ARE EVERYWHERE. - They have a ton of staff people at checkin and many rangers and staff members riding on golf carts, but they don't adhere by the rule, that you're not suppose to have more than eight people at a site. The people beside of us had a camper and three tents set up and at least 15 people. 15 people, including young kids, gathered around their campfire laughing and carrying on, didn't really exceed my expectation of a peaceful staycation. -They have a specific area for group campers and that area stayed unoccupied all weekend.-There are two bathhouses and the one furthest away from the primitive area, was by far the cleanest. -The showers near the primitive area were actual shower stalls and the showers in the bathhouse that I recommend, were clean, tiled and had hand held shower heads. I observed them being tended only by the toilet paper being stocked, I never witnessed them being cleaned. -The washer and dryers that were available outside of the bathhouse, are $1.25 per cycle.-The pool just outside of the grounds that overlooks the lake isn't free with camping fee. They do give you $1 off of the $4 entry fee though.-A lot of areas just outside of the check-in station to fish on shore... mostly grassy areas, near the pool.-The walk from the pool is uphill, so wear comfortable shoes, or drive.

This has been a local park that I've been visiting my whole life. They have a pool, lake (for fishing, small boats, and they rent paddle boats), 9 hole golf corse, miniature golf corse, a coupe play areas/play grounds (nice free thing with the kids), camp grounds, tennis court, and basketball court to name a few things. Good place for a nice relaxing weekend with the kids.

This place is so ran down. I imagine it was in its prime MANY years ago. I've always wanted to check it out on my drives from Maysville to Alexandria. It's sad and I was really disappointed.

The workers and rangers are wonderful. BUT website is very old and the information on it is very inaccurate. There is no beach and from what I think closed in 1990's. Also no mini golf anymore. The map for camping sites is horrible. I took hours to find right site for family. Pictures do not enlarge to get enough idea of site placement and size. I picked a site that was to have a playground next to it so it would help with the kids. You have to travel to get to them and was not the point. The general store was disappointing it had no souvenirs besides shirts. I wanted magnets, or coozies or something to remember trip by but never 25 for a t-shirt. In my opinion the pool is way to small for all the people since not allowed to swim in the lake. Suggest to make another pool area but to include a splash park, lazy river, and larger pool with kids slides.Sorry, I will never return. Please improve the website and be honest. Thanks for reading.
