We stayed two nights at this campground and RV park as we were going to visit The Ark Encounter. We did not book in advance so we were lucky to get a site. This is a very nice and clean park. It has a little store and grounds are very well kept. I spoke with TK on the phone before we arrived and he was super nice. We wish lived closer because we would definitely come back.

Office staff here is very unaccomodating. Our site was very sloped and our class A motorcoach would not level. We asked if we could move to another site but was told all sites were reserved and that wasn't possible. Was told we could go down the road to Camping World and buy some leveling blocks. Our passenger side back tires were 4" off the ground when the jacks were down. We put our blocks down, but it wasn't enough. Office said we could shorten our stay by three daysto be able to move, which wasn't an option. They offered no other solution as we were booked through the weekend and they had more people comig in over the weekend. When you pick a site online, you have no idea how it is, so it's a gamble. And unfortunately they don't care if your rig is safely set up or not.

Looking from the outside it seems to close to home.My kids camped her this summer & we visited.I was really surprised, Lots of shade & quite.I can see why local enjoy it here.Very quite, Your far enough from I-75 I couldn't here traffic. Most of site had large mature shade trees. Lots of places for kids to ride bikes.Very kid friendly

I've been to this five star campground countless times. My parents and every Lexingtonian camper that I know choose here over any of the other surrounding local spots, such as Boonesboro. A few things have changed here throughout the years. The pool seems to have been properly maintained and doesn't seem to show its age. My parents have had many campers throughout the years, so I'm not exactly a camping virgin. I must admit that I wasn't necessarily excited when my husband grew a wild hair and bought our first camper. What better way to break it in and test drive it, than somewhere five miles from my Kentucky home?! I must mention that I was such a good sport it, that I even showered in the bath house... I wanted the true experience this time. The first quarrel that I have, is that it's always so darn busy. We literally scored the last campsite on a Saturday and Sunday. Luckily though, most of the campers were older and there wasn't any issue with noise. There was a train nearby that I heard a few time, but it didn't bother me. My point is, that it's not necessarily tranquil. We had site #156 which backed up to the Rolex stadium, at the Horse Park. I wouldn't like a spot near one of the playgrounds or in a middle section, but that's just my preference. I would've liked to have been closer to the bathhouse, but it wasn't incredibly far. I loved the shade trees and the fire pit. The campground store has firewood, but they close early. So be sure to buy up before dark time. The pool is lovely, but don't forget your pool pass. It's to the right of the main street and you enter though one of the bathhouses. Both of the bathhouses that I used were fairly clean. Keeping in mind that the majority of campers have showers on board, the bathhouses were never very crowded. One lady gave me a pointer, that it's better to use them at the warmest time of the day. Yeah, there's a issue with the temperature of the showers. How hard would it be to supply hot water? Heck, I would've settled for lukewarm water.Lastly, the staff could all use training in the customer service world. Both times that I called there and asked simple questions, they were a bit stumped. To the guy at the pool who made me stand there at the door of the pool while my husband drove across the campground to get our pool passes, you're a royal asshole. You win top spot on my crap list today.

Pool closes at 6P (even on weekends), bathrooms were poor quality and maintenance was working on a campsite next to ours which made sitting outside unbearable, so we left early. Even so, the staff nor the parks commissioner would not refund us our last evening. This was our first and last staff at this campground.

The campground did not communicate well. The staff completely closed the roads to motorized vehicles from 2:30-5:30 for trick-or-treating on a Saturday (10/16/21) during football season and during a huge event at the Kentucky Horse Park. When we asked about advanced notification of the closure, they said, "we'll, it was posted in the camp store."We missed events at the park next door because we literally could not leave the campground. This is a huge, state-owned campground/park. The whole situation was completely unacceptable.

This Hidden Gem in Lexington, KY was just what we were looking for. It's very easy to find and it's very simple to navigate through the campground to get to your site. The bathhouse was very clan, and the store was reasonably priced. The site was quite large and we had mature shade trees. We will definitely come back.
