Kentucky Ballet Theatre

My Daughter who is 10, has only been taking Academy classes here for two years. She is in the classic training, they also offer Pre-Professional. We just love this program. Very well set up, incredibly organized and the environment is very encouraging. The staff are very great with the kids and work them hard!! I have seen a lot of positive direction in her ballet technique and she grows every year. Kentucky Ballet Theatre has soo much to offer!! Private lessons, intensives during the summer, prepoint evaluations for their students, as well as other technique classes are offered.

Just saw the Nutcracker while visiting Lexington. Kids were great, but I was under the impression that this was a professional dance company, which it clearly is not. I'm not one to fat shame, but the worst offender was the very corpulent dancer in the first act. I assumed him to be someone's dad until I saw him listed as the "artistic director"...wow!! I've since learned that the Lexington Ballet Theater is the way to go and wanted to pass on this tip.
