Katherine's Café

A local nitro hidden gem don't have a lot of beer variety mostly the common beers but the wait staff are quick and attentive and the food is delicious some nights it's packed depending on the different tournaments but during the day or early evening you want some good homemade food definitely try it out.

Stopped Katherine's Cafe for lunch on a trip from Ohio to North Carolina this week, found it on Yelp when I was looking for a spot to stop and have a late breakfast/early lunch and a adult beverage. I would call it more of a local bar than a Café, that said the staff was friendly dining room and facilities clean. We sat at the bar for lunch and Michele the bartender took good care of us. I had the Philly cheesesteak and onion rings and Kathy had the special of the day which was fish and chips with hush puppies, slaw and homemade tartar sauce. All was good, reasonably priced. If you're ever driving down Route 35 and go through Nitro West Virginia it's worth a stop!

Very good and very filling. Nice chili. Very beefy. Pleasant aroma. Could have used a little more slaw. The slaw was good. Nice and sweet. Tasty wieners. Definitely all-beef. I used the coupon. $8.20 for two dogs, onion rings, and a drink. Very nice waitress too. Very friendly staff. Everyone there told me to have a good day when I left. Staff can make a big difference at a restaurant. It's definitely worth checking out!

I came up with pretty high expectations since everyone at my office goes there every few weeks. Unfortunately, their fryer was down, eliminating almost half of their menu items. I ended up getting a burger with a pack of commercially purchased chips. The burger itself was a bit over cooked and dry, and the drinks were all served with cans.The service was quick and attentive, so we'll probably try it again in the future, hoping for the rest of the menu to be available, but wasn't left with a massive hurry to return. The place was clean and otherwise friendly, so no glaring issues, just wasn't the greatest experience our trip in. If we do make it back in and have a much more positive experience, I'll update this review accordingly. I really want these local places to succeed, but just needed more from here.

Best Club sandwich hands down. Patrons and staff are friendly. Only let down is that we have went there on occasions and their kitchen would be closed due to lack of staff.

Tony and I have stopped when in the area several times. I normally come here for the Hot dogs but unfortunately learned they don't sell them anymore. Apparently Todd sold to his daughter and she took them off the menu.Place is dark, needs more lights and windows and revamped.They are trying to upscale the menu when they need to upscale the decor. We got the pretzel bites and beer cheese pretty good. Tony got a Pabst, myself a soda. Will we go back? Yeah if in the area. Will I go back on purpose...not since they stopped serving hot dogs!!!!

Great burgers, hot bologna and the club sandwich is one of the best around. Yes it's a car, but very friendly, relaxed atmosphere & spotless!!! Try it, you won't be sorry!!!

We stopped in for the hot dog, that was reported to be one of the best in West Virginia. We were not disappointed. Overall, it is one of the top 10 hot dogs in West Virginia thus far. We are still hitting up hot dog stands to find the best.

Rating on their hot dog chili and Cole slaw. Just outstanding. We requested our cousin bring some of the chili and slaw to create WV dogs over the weekend. The owners obliged sent the best hot dog chili and slaw we ever had. We added the Nathans, sweet onions,, mustard and fresh bun. Perfection.

Best Burgers in the valley!Going for the new menu hotdog, slaw, chilly and mustard. The wife is insisting I bring home the best fries in town from Katherine's.
