This place was renovated in the last few years. When you walk in, it looks very nice and clean. There are many TVs, and lots of tables and booths. It is good for college students because it has a bit more of a restaurant feel to it than a typical college cafeteria/joint. They take meal swipes and flex or cash/credit card. I'm not sure about now, but a few years ago, after 10pm it would be booming with college students and many people would go there. I went here recently for lunch and there was not many people there; so there was no wait. They have average burgers and fries, chicken tenders, salads and soups. The chicken Caesar salad wrap the cookie a la mode is very good. They don't do combo meals anymore, so you have to order everything individually. The wait time for a salad and fries is about 5 minutes. If you order a burger or chicken, it could take 10-30 minutes to get your food. The atmosphere is kinda awkward at times and the service is good. Some of the staff who I have met are very nice! However, some are not very welcoming and act like they'd rather being doing literally anything else than be working there. Overall, this is a good place for college students to eat at and is better than being in a dorm eating ramen. For a local, or a traveler, you can check it out. However keep in mind they have no parking. Your best bet is to park on the University Dr. road.

Fantastic chicken fingers and fries, great vegetarian burger, and it's always very clean! Best place to get a late night meal for a meal swipe. Update: service can be unorganized and slow. Two people could order right next to each other and one would receive their meal 15 minutes ahead of the other. However, the Turkey burger is TO DIE FOR

A tradition of greasy spoon, low-end dining aimed at a captive audience of college students.I ate at K-Lair (also sometimes called K-Hair) pretty often when I was at UK, because it was conveniently located right next to my dorm, or along the walk to class. I didn't eat there because it was good, it was always low-end institutional-grade food in a fairly utilitarian atmosphere. Okay, I'll admit I had a fondness for the chili dogs, and liked their French bread pizzas. Then, three years ago they tore down K-Lair (and Haggin Hall next to it) and built new expensive replacements for them. I had to be near campus for some business last month so I thought I'd go visit old K-Lair for nostalgia sake. The new K-Lair is larger, shiner and crammed with TV's and wi-fi antennae, and certainly looks more expensive. The food indeed was more expensive too from my time there (even accounting for inflation). Signs boasted of using local ingredients when possible. With the expensive contract that UK signed to outsource its food services, I thought maybe they'd nailed the K-Lair name onto some more upscale eatery. Also, the original K-Lair served breakfast, it was a popular place to stop on the way to morning classes to get a breakfast sandwich. This new place doesn't open until 11 AM and doesn't serve breakfast. Also gone were many of the old menu options. No more chili dogs, or French bread pizzas. A minimalist menu compared to the original K-Kair. Then I sat down with my burger and fries, my first one at K-Lair in well over a decade and took one bite. . .that same gummy, lukewarm meat, that same half-stale bun, the same boring crinkle-cut fries that I remember from the 1990's.It may be a shiny, expensive, glamorous new building, but it's the same old mediocre food being served there, just with more restrictive hours, a more limited menu, and no breakfast options.

This place is reasonably priced and brand new. The burgers and fries are pretty good I would recommend the grilled chicken. The only problem is sometimes the staff is kind of rude but the atmosphere is really nice here. Good luck finding parking without a permit here thouh

Didn't like this place at all. I had wildcat burger for $6.49. The burger meet had hard stuff in it. I didn't eat the half of the burger.

K-Lair slaps! You can get a Philly cheesesteak with fries drink and a shake for under $10! And it's pretty good! Atmosphere is also solid. No complaints here!

Ordered a turkey burger, and the cashier asked if I wanted every thing it comes with, I said yes. On the menu it says it has pick de gallo, avocado and Swiss cheese. When I got home and opened it, there was pickles, lettuce and no cheese and nothing that it said it came with, very confused and annoyed

This is the worst place I've ever eaten at in my entire life. The only thing that's even remotely edible here is the sweet potato fries.
