This was amazing. Have lunch at their restaurant then browse this amazing shop. Its not the typical antique store. Its like palace of Versailles and cracker barrel had a baby. I saw lots of gorgeous pieces. Love the mirrors and chandeliers. Really loved the fancy handbags but not the price. Lunch needs reservations and not open every day.

I will always recommend Irish Acres as a wonderful destination. There is no place that can compare. It is like walking into a fairy land. It is a must do place for all my out of town guests. The food at the Glitz is always a cut above, beautifully and expertly prepared and presented. There is only once that I did not have a pleasant experience and feel they could have been more accommodating. About the time our food was served I began to feel ill. My daughter, a nurse, decided that she needed to get me out of there. She asked our young gentleman server if we could take the meal with us and was told no. I feel that under the circumstances we should have been allowed to. So I sent her with my card to pay for the wonderful food that we had to leave behind. But I have and will still return!

This is an amazing store of antiques. Their items are sparkling clean and the staff is very knowledgeable. They clearly have a love for their business. There are three immaculate floors of quality antiques. Upon opening the doors my first word was WOW! Right there as you enter is a memorial to their mother and founder. Imagine the care you would give to a beautiful heartfelt tribute of a beloved family member. They carry that attention all through the store. If you want to add to your day, make time for lunch at Glitz, the restaurant contained within the building. This will combine to provide a truly pampered experience.

Irish Acres is actually located about 10 miles south of Versailles, in Nonesuch KY. It's off 33, on Ford's Mill Road. The drive alone through horse country makes this a worthwhile trip from someone staying in Lexington. It's about 30-35 minutes from UK.Irish Acres is a neat not-so-little antique gallery located in an old schoolhouse built in the 1920's. Inside the gallery you will find some exquisite antiques (we saw a $48K bed!!) and some hard-to-finds without making you feel you need to shower immediately afterwards, as some "booth-style" antique stores sometimes do. We arrived at about 10:30 am, with lunch reservations at "The Glitz" downstairs at 11:30. The hour was plenty of time for us, but those actually shopping will likely need more. The ladies running the gallery were wonderful. They knew the folks we were staying with, giving me the impression that they are pillars of the community. The Glitz had pretty decent food. It was in an interesting setting - one I'm sure appeals to much of their audience (middle-aged to older women, traveling in small groups). The food was unique - I give them that. Was it 4-star food? No. But it's probably the best food you can get in Woodford County. Three courses, plus beverage for $20.It's an easy drive and the roads are great. Make this a stopping point for you when you visit Churchill Downs in Louisville, or visiting Keeneland in Lexington. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I traveled from New Jersey to Kentucky for a wedding. Prior to going my husband did some research on some sites he thought we would enjoy. Irish acres was one of them. We were stunned at the beautiful antiques they had grouped so beautifully. We enjoyed a fabulous luncheon at the Glitz. The food was delicious. The servers were very attentive and friendly. Without a doubt, when traveling through the Kentucky area, Irish Acres will be one place we will visit again. Well worth the trip to enjoy the experience that Irish Acres offers. The owners were so friendly, personable, and knowledgeable.
