We just moved to Lexington and needed to get a clarinet rental. This place was recommended by the school.Unlike my daughter, I am not musically inclined and was pretty lost. The staff there were very helpful and patient.

After having one kid rent an instrument from Hurst for 6 years, I will be looking for other options for my other kid who is interested in band. Customer service or maybe I should say lack of customer service in the past two years has really shown their true colors. I found the people at Willis Music in Lexington to be much more accommodating in answering questions and helping you with your needs as that is who we go to now for anything music related. Sadly I know a lot of parents are going to be bullied into going with Hurst as the schools make it sound like that is your only option, but it isn't. Beware to parents, if you are late on one payment, they will call the students band teacher to tell them all about it -- they don't call you. Yes, it was my fault I was late on the payment, but I had talked to a lady there who said it was ok to send it in next week, guess it wasn't after all. They must be giving schools a cut of what they charge to get everyone to rent with them -- that is the only way I can figure out they are still in business after all these years.
