Amazing Race birthday party at Hisle Farm Park
Fishing pond to the right of the driveway
Targets could use refurbishing
Beautiful day for some target practice.
Archery range at Hisle Farm Park
Not quite Robin Hood level yet.
Military maneuvers are held at this park. Our parks dept allows this, for some strange reason. Looks like they are carrying real weapons
If anybody knows what the purpose of this object, let me know. Thanks.

The park offers a few miles of bluegrass trails, a picnic area, and, unusually, an archery range. A short gravel road leads to the main parking area. The terrain is quite typical for the region, but most land around here is private farms. Nothing in the few small ponds or bridge crossing the railroad will be overly exciting, but it is a nice place to walk around.

This is a beautiful park hidden in Northern Lexington (literally hidden). I have been here a handful of times in the past 4 years and I have always thought it to be one of the most peaceful and secluded places. It's not really a park, more of a big open field. It is great for walking with no interruptions or noise and the paths are clear. I know there is an archery range or something but I have never visited. I also am aware that people bring their horses out to ride. All the times I've gone, I've only run in to other people twice so it must be pretty large. Parking and space is ample!

Seems like a nice park but I wouldn't waste my time fishing. Fish here twice in the back pond and only caught 1 bluegill both times. Back pond has way to many trees around with hanging branches which makes it impossible to cast a far distance. Front two pounds are surrounded by thick weeds and moss covers them so basically front ponds are not fish able in my opinion. Basically the fishing ponds are not well maintained and could really use a good stocking of fish by the division of wildlife.

This park, open to the public, features a 10-lane target range with 2 permanent targets. Archers are welcomed to bring their commercially purchased archery targets to use on one of the other 8 shooting lanes. NO BROADHEADS, CROSSBOWS or FIREARMS are permitted on this range.

Seems to me that Hisle Farm Park is really two separate parks with separate entrances and street addresses on Briar Hill Road. One area is for archery, and it's appropriately far removed from the other part. While visiting children & grandchildren in Lexington, we took time to practice archery at Hisle Park. The archery area consists of a dozen or so well used targets placed at 10, 20 30, etc. yards. which need to be replaced or refurbished soon. There's a picnic table, portable toilet, covered, concrete pad and trash can. We went there twice over the weekend and saw three other people also shooting compound bows. Everything was well maintained - except for the worn out targets. Not complaining, because very few public parks have free archery ranges. And we're out-of-towners anyway! The other area of the park has a fine, handsome old tobacco barn surrounded with a wonderful, well maintained grassy area complete with two picnic tables, water fountain, trash can, and clean portable toilet. There is also a small fishing pond. This was the setting for my nine year old grandson's Saturday afternoon birthday party with an Amazing Race theme. A great success with two teams of 4th grade boys running around completing various challenges and games. A limb on the large walnut tree was perfect for the piñata. Birthday cake too. It was the perfect setting!
