I skipped this festival for so many years because I didn't think it was my cup of tea. Boy, was I WRONG! We finally made it out last season and had such a blast. It is amazing how much detail and work they put into making it feel like you've time-traveled back a century. Everyone's dressed up, there are vendors and shows of all sorts... There is just so. much to do. I really love how every weekend there is a different theme. I believe the day we went it was Christmas in July. If you go towards the beginning or end of the season, there is a big opening and closing ceremony with the king and queen. Turkey legs? Check. Have a glass of mead? Check. Watch some jousting? Check! It was honestly impossible to do everything we wanted to do in one day. This will easily become an annual summer event for us. It is a great nerdy escape that you cannot find anywhere else in Kentucky!

Plan ahead! There a lot to do, so be merry, dress up, don't dress up either way it's an experience.Everyone is welcoming. Definitely wear comfortable shoes, it is a lot of walking around, there isn't always enough seating for everyone. They did let me bring in an empty cup to use, I refilled with water & lemonade. They do take cash, coin of the realm (which you can get converted) there are atms available. Ample parking just remember which area you park at and plan accordingly to watch some of the show/acts. There isn't a lot of seating so first come first serve sitting. We didn't stay for the entire day but we got to watch some jostling & glass blowing. The food was great, everything was cooked to order so there maybe a little wait & longer lines. But reasonably priced & delicious.

We first visited this Faire in 2007 when it was only 3 years old, man what a difference 17 years makes! This is still a smaller Faire by comparison, but it hits all the elements to make for a good weekend It's a pretty shady area, so you don't have to be out in full sun all day, that is nice since it is in May/June. I will say this is the first Faire where my whiskey flask was flagged, had to take it back to the truck. I understood though once I saw they actually serve cocktails in the main pub as well as just beer and mead. I really appreciated the 21+ pub in the front corner, not that I mind kids, but it was a nice spot retreat to! The separated Viking Village near the joust field is a really neat concept and has some great potential! All in all, it's not one I will make the 6+ hour drive for every year from GA, but we will definitely return. I encourage you to check them out.

First time ever coming down to the ky ren fest from Ohio. I am a solid 2.5 hours away and I will say it is worth it. I also got some of the best food I have ever had at a festival. Bangers and mash with a smoothie, so freaking tasty. I had a blast here and will gladly come back.

Such a fun day! I visited on a Saturday morning. The road into the fair is a mixture of gravel and dirt which was rough to drive on. But don't let that stop you! There was free parking on site. The vendors and shops were fun to look around at! The booths had so much to look at, I had a hard time not buying more! There was a fun vendor who had homemade soad in a variety of flavors. There were a few food choices including turkey legs, burgers, sandwiches, and chicken tenders. There was an awesome magic ahow where a man swallowed swords and ate fire. There was also a chance to ride a unicorn (white horse with a plastic horn). Definitely worth visiting once, even if it's just to people watch.

First person to review! Outstanding performers. We didn't get to see much, but what we did see (Judas & Magnolia, Live Dragons, GarrBodge, Sprout) were all very entertaining and kind, they made the admission price worth it. Didn't get to audience participate, but still had an overall pleasant experience! Vendors were sweet. Everywhere we stopped took cash and card, but there was also an option to do the Coin of the Realm for added immersion. We just paid cash. Some people argue you can't go to events like this without spending 100 bucks or more, but we came out of it with plenty to spare. The worst part was just the weather, very very hot. They can't control it obviously. Very enjoyable experience, affordable, more shade than the Georgia Ren Faire by far!

I've gone several times over the last three years, and it's always been a blast. It's always hotter than hades, especially in my ren fair outfits (wore a cooler outfit today only to have it be cool and rainy, haha, that's on me). They have adequate shade + those mister things that spray mist to cool the air. It's a lot of walking, so be aware of that. Ground is mostly flat but it's also a lot of grass and dirt. I'm not sure how accessible it would be if you have mobility issues. There's places to sit down, though. I suppose this is the case with many fairs and festivals, but a lot of the focus is around spending money. I wish there were more free activities. However, there are a lot of very cool and unique venders, but they don't seem to change too much year by year. Because of this, your first visit will probably be the most exciting. It is nice seeing all the cool costumes, lots of people spend a lot of time on them. If you don't have a costume, there are plenty places you can build one there. I think things are more fun if you have one, tbh. They have food, ATMs, many of the venders take card (but not all). There's a nice parking lot, too

Looking for something to do, a quick online search and this was listed. I have lived in Kentucky for 7years and have never heard of this event. It roughly starts at the end of June and runs every weekend through July. Admission is $25 at the gate or you can save a couple bucks by purchasing online. Located in Eminence, depending where you're coming from will depend how long of a drive. Parking is free. Once you are in, imagine stepping back into medieval times and prepare to immerse yourself in the spirit of Renaissance times. Many people like to dress up, which is always fun! There were so many booths and activities located throughout I was fairly impressed! Only complaint, the food stand lines were all extremely long and food was so so. Overall, great activity to spend time with family and friends!

Mixed bag. Some of the vendors are lovely and others are very rude. I don't recommend the Earl of Sandwich; it was overpriced and the girl behind the counter was incredibly rude for no reason.

For $20 you surely can not beat it! The entertainment is top notch and the prices for relics are very cheap there! If you go I recommend you go on a full stomach so you can spend your coin on something that you can take home. Water is $2-$3 a bottle. Stay hydrated! Everyone is dressed up and role plays. If you go, get in that headspace because it'll make it 10x more fun. Always never leave a trail, clean up after yourselves, and be mindful of taking pictures... Some vendors don't like it when you take pictures of their art.
