This review is mostly for our experience with the deli. My husband and I placed a pickup order on Monday 10/28 . He ordered a sandwich on rye. He expected freshly baked bakery bread but the bread was cheap grocery store bread. Listed ingredients of the sandwich were also left off. My salad was very disappointing. It only consisted of iceberg lettuce with a few other store bought ingredients thrown on top. I've had better salads at fast food establishments. Finally, the service we received was less than friendly. We were disappointed to have spent $20 on a lunch of this quality.We also ordered some cookies. Cookies are smaller and harder than most bakery cookies seem to be these days but are just $1. Just know not to expect an oversized soft warm cookie here.

This was my first time to this location. I wasn't expecting so many choices. They had so much variety. Cookies, donuts, bread, jam and a bunch of deli style pastas & main dishes. I will definitely go back for the bakery side of things. I got a BLT on a cheese bagel add jalapeño cream cheese. I really enjoyed the peppered bacon & jalapeño cream cheese. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. I always look for that. I'm not sure I would do the bagel next time. It could have just been the flavor? They're popular so there were slim pickings. So that's a good sign :) My meal came with a few pickle chips that were delicious. I will ask if they sell jars next time. Plus chips & a cute delicious sugar cookie. Overall I recommend this place for sure !

The flavor of my desserts was fine. Nothing amazing. The cookies were not done as I requested and they called to clarify! The mini cheesecakes were a sloppy mess. The mini eclairs looked like something nasty. The lady that waited on me when I picked up was very rude. I will not use them again!

We had a party of 7 at 10:15 am on Saturday, 12/31/22. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table.I got the Egg and Cheese Sandwich ($4.50) on an everything bagel. The bagel was great, but there wasn't enough egg or cheese. I also got a side of Hashbrowns ($2.50). The hashbrowns were definitely not worth it. Everyone agreed that the bagels were really good. Others got lox spread and said it was good too!We got 4 different donuts ($11.40) and mostly were unimpressed. We got chocolate covered glaze, cake donut, Oreo, and custard-filled. The best was probably the Oreo, but really, none of them blew us away.I checked in on Yelp and we got a free cookie out from checking in! We tried the chocolate chip cookie and the sugar cookie, and again, both were just okay.We had high hopes and we're unfortunately let down. Everything was average at best.

Our usual bakery closed days before my birthday. The situation put my dad in bind to find and support the dwindling population of neighborhood bakeries in Louisville. My family, friends, and I are so glad he remembered Heitzman's! My funfetti cake decorated with ombre blue and white buttercream sides and a cute blue fish (I like ocean and fish themes) on top was beautiful and delicious! The buttercream was just right-not too sweet, near fluffy texture. Everyone wanted to take an extra slice home. I think this is the first time that I've never had leftover birthday cake- that's how good it was!I would definitely go back for additional celebratory cakes and treats!

This amazing bakery not only makes classic bakery goods, they also offer seasonal meals, sweets, & treats + the deli serves breakfast and lunch.

Ordered a wedding cake and was promised that it would be baked fresh. It was not. It was quite dry - except for the top layer. We did not save top layer for 1 year anniversary - we ate it day after wedding because bride & groom were from West Coast. It tasted dramatically different than 2 layers that were served at wedding (and leftovers from those layers that we brought home). Top layer was moist & delicious. I guess they decided to only bake top layer fresh. What a waste of money. Subsequent to that, I ordered an expensive birthday cake and was promised that would be baked fresh. Again it was stale on pick-up day. BEWARE, they will lie and sell you previously frozen cake.
