Harmon's Barbecue

Went to Harmons barbeque on a Thursday evening with about 10 people. It's an annual thing, part of a convention. As a Memphis-certified, and Kansas City certified barbeque judge, I am tasked with finding a barbeque spot wherever we are each year. I did not know Harmons, but based on a variety of recommendations, we went, and we were not, not, not disappointed... Not in the least!I had the rib and brisket combo. The hardwood smoke is in your nostrils the moment you walk through the front door, and it is carried through to every bite that you take. The ribs were meaty, tender, not quite fall off the bone, (which is a very good thing!)The brisket was tender, juicy, and for a restaurant, getting close to competition style - which, for me, is high praise, indeed. Perhaps my only disappointment was the banana pudding, which was more like a nice bowl of whipped cream, rather than a genuine putting. I mean, if you're going to have barbecue, and they're offering banana pudding, it's kind of mandatory!I was a visitor; I don't live anywhere near, but if I am back in that vicinity, I know where to go for barbecue! Not sure why I would bother to look anywhere else.

Got the 2 meat plate with sides and cornbread. Love the pulled pork and brisket and bbq sauce. Green beans delicious also. So disappointed in the Mac and cheese. Kraft box for kids would have been better. Gotta mention the cornbread. Tasted like a piece of box cake mix. Not like cornbread. At all. Add some vanilla icing and it would have been dessert. Lunch for 3 with banana pudding was $76. Little pricy

The food was hot and accurate. I didn't taste anything spectacular. Both times we tried to come they were out of turkey breast. The creamed corn was the most flavorful. There's not a lot of added spices or flavor. The cornbread tasted like yellow cake. The service was fast. There's picnic tables and plastic plates. There's televisions for eating sports and outdoor tables.

Great food, nice environment, quick service. Best BBQ we have had in NKY. We will be back.

First time here and won't be the last. The cornbread is sweet and to die for. Generous potions. Will stop back when I am in the area again!

First time out here on a weekend foodie adventure. I have had BBQ all over the USA, and by FAR, this is one of the very best. The wings had just enough sweet and heat and char buffed to make them amazing. Brisket was tender and flavorful- didn't even need a knife. Pulled pork? Phenomenal. And then the sides. I tried the mustard based potato salad and smoked green beans. Holy cow were they great. This is family owned and operated (per the sign on the wall), and the customer service is fantastic. One type of BBQ sauce offered, and it is so good, why would you need more than one? So pleasantly surprised- and so very happy my husband found this place today!

Incredible BBq, one of the best I've had. I had brisket and turkey and they were both some of the best I've had. Slaw was on point and the single bbq sauce was just rite. Good job Harmon's!

What's the one place you recommend to anyone who will listen? For me, it's Harmon's BBQ. I talked yet another friend into going today and just had to write a review while the experience was fresh in my mind. You walk in and a glorious wall of smokiness hits you. That smell cannot be replicated artificially and you just know as soon as it hits you that the food is going to be amazing. The portion sizes are great for the price. You can tell everything is handmade, and every meat I've had there has been perfection. My favorite is the turkey. Today my friend tried the pulled pork and it was incredibly tender and smoky. He actually bookmarked the restaurant on his phone because he agrees this place is the real deal.I just realized I forgot to get another favorite of mine, the banana pudding, while I was there today. Guess I have an excuse to go back sooner than later. I literally told them when I left that I love them and hope they never go out of business. True definition of an underrated gem! Sorry I didn't take a pic of my food because I inhaled it too quickly.

Delicious barbecue at a decent price ... it doesn't get much better than that!We've eaten at Harmon's a few times since discovering this Ft. Mitchell favorite last summer. They're great with both dine-in and carry-out. If you opt to dine-in, enjoy their casual, elbows-on-the-table atmosphere where anyone is welcome. Having spent several years living in Texas, I consider myself somewhat of a BBQ aficionado, and this place is doing it right. My favorite thing on their menu is the loaded potato - topped with either pulled pork or brisket. Like any good barbecue joint - you have to stop in early in order to get the meat you want - because they often run out of their top-sellers.The smoked wings are also a must-order - they're delicious served dry, but I love the barbecue sauce too much to ever order them that way. As for their sides, the creamed corn is decent, the green beans are tasty, and my husband loves their Mac N' Cheese.

In our search for a great southern BBQ place upon moving to Kentucky, we tried a few highly rated Yelp places and finally found Harmon's. Can't comment on ambiance or service because we ordered it on DoorDash but I have nothing but praise for the food!We ordered everything from brisket to pulled pork to slaw to beans and cornbread and everything was absolutely delicious. I loved how all the flavors of all the main and side dishes complemented each other so well and really came together for a wonderful meal. The cornbread was moist, fluffy and delicious. The meats were smoked well, texture great and very scrumptious. Can't wait to eat here again!
