Even Thai & Mighty Noodle Bowls and Crank & Boom Ice Cream were there among the local food vendors!
Lots of interesting booths at the Mayfair Arts Fest!
Even more booths! The grassy area in the middle was very shady, perfect for taking a chill.

A beautiful small park in downtown Lexington near Transylvania University. It's picturesque and surrounded my older homes. Parking can be tricky. We recently went to an arts and crafts festival there.

Lexington is such a pretty place. I was born & raised in Kentucky, but I've only been to Lexington a handful of times. We were in Lexington for the weekend & actually stayed at Gratz Park Inn. After we checked out, we decided to leave the car parked on the street & take a walk around the area. We'd been so busy the previous day's that we hadn't explored the area much. We stumbled upon Gratz Park. The streets that border the park were closed because they were having the 2016 Mayfest Arts Fair. There was a ton of arts & crafts venders. They even had a few food trucks & some local breweries set up giving samples. We saw a local dance troupe that was doing a performance & even bringing in the people watching to join in. The park itself is is very green. Lots of grass, mature trees & bushes. There's plenty of shade for people to sit under on a blanket. The walkways in the park look on the older side, so I'd guess this park has been here for some time. It looks like what used to be a courthouse sits at one end of the park. This is a nice green space for the town.

This a nice quiet little park, just a few blocks away from downtown. I can't say how much its normally used (since it's so close to Transy campus, I would assume quite a bit). This weekend my wife and I attended the Mayfest Arts Festival. I will definitely be back. A ton of local arts vendors (prints, paintings, pottery, jewelry, crafts) selling their wares at ridiculously low prices. I really enjoyed how most of the booths were set up around the park instead of right in the middle of it, so if you needed a moment to cool off and rest, there was plenty of space available. Lots of food vendors attended this event as well, including lots of locals, such as Thai & Mighty, Crank & Boom, and The Cheezy Mac. There was also a small petting zoo, featuring goats, sheep, alpacas, and a bunny. Yep, just one bunny.I can't speak for this park most of the year, but during the yearly Mayfest Arts Festival, it is a delight.

Beautiful little hidden gem where families and locals come to enjoy and hang out. Great scenery and very close to University of Transylvania. They allow pets in service animals. Did you take a brisk walk around the park, you can see all the beautiful houses that line the streets all around the park. This whole area is just stunning! This is a must see
