Golden Twist

A friend asked me to take him to Golden Twist for an ice cream and said he would get me something also. We started in the drive through line which didn't move for 5 minutes.We decided to go inside and stood at the windows for 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there.I thought to ask them if staying in drive through line would be quicker than ordering inside, but we were then recognized and helped.I ordered a dressed hamburger because I heard someone say they have the best hamburgers. My friend ordered an undressed hamburger and fry. Neither of us think they have the best burgers, though I will say the lettuce, tomato and onion were fresh. My friend got his burger, but no fry. He ordered a soft serve ice cream in a cup for dessert. He said his soft serve was cold and flavor was good.I dont know why they don't post prices other than chips are .70 cents.There is no public restroom so go before you visit.I wouldn't come here if you are in a hurry or have a weak bladder.I might try it again sometime. I think I came here decades ago. It might be decades before my next visit. Food is average. Service is below average. I don't recommend it.

My family and I LOVE this place and have been coming here for years! Family owned and operated, they have a solid menu and there's something for everybody whether you're looking for a meal or dessert (or like us, both). My dad is like a walking billboard for them and can spout off the daily specials with a moment's notice (hello Thursday's Chicken and Dumplings!) and this is our go to place when we can't decide what we want to eat since we know they have such a wide variety. Meals and treats are affordable and satisfying. Just writing this review now, I'm craving a peanut butter banana milkshake! If you're looking for no frills dining, just good food from good people, check them out. They offer drive through and dine in and have picnic tables set up for outside dining.

Golden Twist is a little mom and pop fast food and ice cream type place in Jeffersonville. Most people around probably know about it, as it's been around for ages. It shows a little too. We've been here about five or six times for things like soft serve, hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers and fried fish. For those things, they do a good job and we've walked away pleased. My bf loves soft serve and I like hand dipped. Their soft serve is fine, but I've never tried their hand dipped because it was Dean's and not homemade. I like Dean's alright, but usually just opt for a sundae or hot fudge cake.They have daily home cooked specials. Today I tried the meatloaf, baked beans and potato salad. It was decent, but kind of bland and the meatloaf had more sauce than I prefer. However, for $5.25, it was a value. I might try some of their other specials in the future, but probably I'll mostly stick with the simple "fair food". GT has a few outside picnic tables and some inside tables in a covered patio. It's dated, but you can see into the kitchen when you order and it looked clean to me. The staff has always been friendly to us and when we've encountered the owner, he was friendly, engaging and thanked us for our business. They seem to have regulars that come in. Did I mention how cheap they are? The meatloaf, 2 sides, a double cheeseburger, and a chili dog ran $9.15. That's worthy of a star on its own. The hot fudge cake was also good that I had last week. They are a solid 3-3.5 when the service and value are considered. I'd say 4, if I would've loved the meatloaf dinner, but meatloaf is one of those really subjective things that people have have strong preferences for or against. Even still, I won't hesitate to return.

Great food and ice cream at great price. Daily specials are a must. Banana split was as big as a boat! I don't think 1 person could finish it.

I decided to try the meatloaf dinner with macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes once again and was pleasantly pleased! Maybe I just caught them on a bad night the first time. The meatloaf, again, was some of the best I've ever had. The macaroni was hot and cheesy. The potatoes and brown gravy needed a little help that a salt packet easily fixed.Because this was an overall good experience I've bumped my rating up to 4 stars.

This is my favorite go to place when I'm in a "burger and chocolate-cherry coke mood! This place is just a small place & the owner is super sweet! They serve a variety of food, burgers, hot dogs & chicken nuggets & they also have ice cream, sundaes and shakes! They make your food when you order, so it's always fresh and hot! If you are craving something that's not on their menu, just ask the owner and he'll take good care of you!

Love this place and everyone that works there. Thanks for a great lunch... oh, I can't forget their peanut butter shakes!!!! Yummmmmm.

Service is a little slow, but the homemade food, and high quality ice cream makes up for it, and the low prices

Came here tonight with the family and almost 30 bucks were spent. The fries were not properly cooked although asked that they be made well done they were still cold. The dude working the register was very rude and lacked basic customer service skills. The girl working there was making blatant excuses as to why the food was cold and also defended the rude man working there saying "well it's hot back here". Your point? Was charged for an extra drink for which they did not own up to that mistake and were hesitant to give a refund. Please spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere, unless you prefer to be talked to like a dog and dealing with very rude and immature employees. Very unsatisfied with the service and the attitude we received.
