This upscale Korean bbq spot is perfect for a date night or special occasions! Very modern interior and the booths are roomy as well. I would recommend call to make a reservation, especially on a weekend! My group ordered the GoGi combo, which is normally enough to feed 5 people. We had all been working hard that day with not much for lunch, so 4 of us were able to scarf down most of the food. My personal favorite was the bulgogi and the thin slices of brisket. The pork belly was also a crowd favorite, but everything in general was good! I would recommend slightly turning down the grill for any marinated meat. It can have a tendency to burn slightly if the grill is on high. Also, don't be afraid to ask for a new grill plate! The Banchan was very good, but I really felt that the fish cakes were better than most Korean places I've tried. I wish I knew what salad dressing they use, because the whole table was raving about it. Honestly very happy Yelp lead me here during my short stay In Louisville!

So so I went to Gogi 1055 for my birthday with my family and had the best time ever it was our first time going the pictures that posting because I forgot to make this post when I did it. Well I did, but it didn't post, so I'm going to make this. so when we got there, we were greeted with smiles and shown to our table , and the server was super super nice and explained the menu to us and how we could order things and actually cook food that night. However, we have been back several times since then because this is my favorite Korean place for family events in Louisville. I suggest making reservations if you have a large group because it fills up very quickly at the ambience is amazing and you won't be disappointed..

I am ashamed that it has taken me this long to visit this restaurant. Let me tell you, 10-10-10 across the board! This place was AMAZING! The interior design is outstanding and the vibe is very chill and sophisticated. We had an amazing server that answered all of my questions and the food was *chef kiss*. I came on a week day shortly after they opened and was so impressed that I am sure I will be back many times. Here's a few #WorthyNotes:1) Try the drinks. My drink was perfect and so delicious. 2) Cook the food yourself. It makes the experience more special and is fun to do with others.3) Don't be afraid to try new things. I enjoyed all the sides and can't wait to come back to pick something different on the menu.

I have spent countless hours on YouTube, immersing myself in videos of authentic Korean BBQs (it's always been a dream of mine to travel to Korea, hence the immersion). That being said, I was blown away by our dinner at Gogi. It was everything I expected, and more as it was so authentic. Customer service was some of the best I've ever experienced. Our waitress was excellent and super knowledgeable, which was awesome because, well, I love learning :) The quality of the food was top-notch, as it was fresh and flavorful. Also, the ambiance was super chill and vibey; I left full and beaming. 10/10. I will definitely come back when I visit in the future.

For a Korean BBQ restaurant, GOGi 1055 is probably the best in Louisville. The restaurant is set up with tables for 4-6-8 people with grills set up easily for use by 4. They start off with a good variety of unlimited banchan. To get the most out of our meal, we ordered the GOGi combo to sample their various cuts of meats. The combo included high quality beef brisket, steak, pork belly, pork collar, galbi, and bulgogi. All the meats were well seasoned and very tender to hit all the right chords. Service was excellent. Even though part of the fun is to grill your own meats, the wait staff will also lend a hand in the cooking and serving process if you need it. The wait staff were attentive and amply spaced serving the various meats to the table. We never felt rushed that further enhanced our dining experience. We were also celebrating a birthday and they were very accommodating in refrigerating our outside cake during dinner and providing us with new plates and silverware as appropriate for our cake. With very few Asian restaurants in Louisville, I would recommend GOGi 1055 for some delicious Korean cuisine. If you are not familiar with Korean BBQ, GOGi 1055 would easily be the best place to try and enjoy some delicious BBQ meats and Korean delicacies.

First time in Kentucky and my friends took a group of us out to eat to kbbq. Do not over estimate their meat portions because it is more filling than you think. We got both their Gogi combo and pork combo, plus 2 seafood pancakes, jaepchae, and a few of their drinks. The pork belly splices, steak bites, and bulgogi steak were tender and juicy. The seas food pancake could've had more seafood in it, over all it was crispy and savory. The jaepchae was good, the sesame oil really brought it together, Our table was extremely filled that, we had extra stands for our side dishes. Lol. Our waiter was extremely nice and patient with us. I wished I took more photos but we were all too busy eating.

I remember seeing the signage for GOGI before it opened. But I forgot about it quickly. I've had really good KBBQ in LA, and another standout one in Columbus, OH. They give you a salad and banchan for the table. And rice for each person.I started off with hot green tea since the AC was blowing and it was pretty cold inside. They gave me a large pot which I got multiple cups of tea out of! My friend got a Diet Coke.We decided to share the brisket and tteokk beokki.Nice spice to the tteokk beokki! A generous amount too. The brisket was almost paper thin. Good because it crisped up quickly, bad because it cooked almost too fast. Not all KBBQ places marinate their meat. It gives you the chance to salt it yourself and dip it into a sauce. Not a bad thing though. The best KBBQ spots I've been to marinated the meats and it was much more bang for your buck. Then again, this is Louisville. We don't have other KBBQ spots as of yet, so I'm excited for the two new places to open.Service was good. Staff was really nice. It's a large room with tons of booths and tables to accommodate for large groups. Bathrooms are clean as well.Parking around here is parallel but not hard to find.

GOGi 1055 has been one of those places that's been on my list for a long time... and boy, was it worth the wait! My husband and I came here for a date night and it was the perfect place to do so. I love how modern and elegant the inside is, with gigantic tables to make room for all the delicious food you are about to consume. We came specifically for the bbq. They had different 'bundles' on the menu that came with a variety of things, which was perfect for people like us who weren't really sure what or how to order. Everything was fantastic, and it was such a fun experience to get to try a bunch of new things! Our waiter was also very friendly, explained everything well and was always around when we needed them. Overall, I'd recommend GOGi 1055 to anyone looking to try something different, or just to get some delicious Korean bbq!

We travel a lot and eat Korean anywhere we go, as we lived over there for a few years and grew to love their food and culture. The service here is great and the food is awesome! Tables are well spaced. Authentic, prepared quickly and the marinated ribs are the best! The fish cakes are tender, the bean paste is a little chunky and perfectly fermented, I could go on! One of the best Korean restaurants we have been to in the USA.

Very Disappointing. I first learned about Korean BBQ after visiting a fabulous restaurant in Las Vegas. My neighbor has Korean heritage and helped point me to Korean chefs on YouTube, and I've learned to make rather tasty Korean style meals. I've visited a small unpretentious restaurant on Preston Hwy, Koreana, where the food was most tasty and the prices very reasonable. So last night I thought I'd treat myself and my son to a more upscale Korean place near me, Gogi 1055. The place and atmosphere are excellent, and I was happy when we were assigned a booth, which was comfy. We both ordered the ribeye, which we were told was pre-seasoned and sliced. I love Korean Kimchi pancakes, so I ordered theirs, which came with cheese. My pancake was terrible. It came out burnt and very soggy. It was also thicker than most Korean pancakes. I didn't realize how badly burnt it was until I went to pack it up in my to-go bag (see photo). I tried sampling it again when I got home, and just had to throw it away. It could not begin to compare with the delicious pancakes I've had from my neighbor and from Koreana. The sauces were very bland and not the delicious spice combinations I expected. They lacked any kind of zing or gogijang. I asked the server to bring me some gogijang, soy sauce, sugar, and empty bowl. By mixing it together with some of the pickling juice from the other sides, I created a tolerable dipping sauce myself. The pickled daikon could not hold a candle to the ones at Koreana. The radish was sliced paper thin, soggy, and had very little flavor. The salad was fine with a delicious dressing, and one of the sides was tasty, too (I think it was some kind of seaweed). The others not so.The ribeye came out sliced in nearly 1x3 inch chunks, too big for one bite and took a long time to grill, so I took the scissors and sliced it long ways to make the slices thinner, soaked them in some marinade, which I concocted from the gogijang, and it was better, tolerable, but not great because I needed more rice vinegar. I'm sorry to post this review, as I know how hard the restaurant business is. But I won't be back here. It was not worth the $129 tab, which included my 20% tip, despite that the service was mediocre.
