The equipment is constantly out of commission and the staff are rarely present. Building is not well kept and the small equipment takes a half hour to track down. If the staff were half as friendly and competent as the members, I would almost have one thing positive to say about this gym. If you actually decide to waste your money here, God forbid you try to cancel your membership as they will put a hold on your account, rather than canceling it, so they can continue to charge you monthly as well as tack on additional "annual" and "equipment" fees. Once you go back for the second time to try to finally cancel your account, they'll hit you with almost $50 worth of "Cancellation" fees, as if they haven't stolen enough of your money already. Plenty of other exceptional gyms to chose from in Richmond that I would recommend to a friend in a heartbeat, unless of course you just need to waste some money.

Equipment : deterioration stageStaff: poorly trained in regards to education, experience and goal accomplishment. Sales people: will want you to sign up for personnel training, then trainers want to take 4-6 months before they are ready to train you so they can keep getting paid. If arobic sessions are in work, music penitrates walls to point of irritation.Trainers: if formally trained; degree in business, art, finance. Limited knowledge of body, physical therapy, health Science...etc. Point: don't waste your time or money joining this gym.

This gym is convenient because of 24/7 access, and relatively cheap-ish (cheap if you sign up on a promotional deal day). However, it's barely worth it. The cable-driven machines are falling apart and no longer function smoothly, though I suppose that creates extra resistance... The dumbbells are deteriorating and frequently (dangerously) loose. Its a very small space for the number of clients it serves, and if you are trying to follow a specific exercise routine, you will likely have to wait to use the necessary equipment, or otherwise alter it. When there is a fitness class or personal training taking place, there is no area to perform body-weight exercises in the floor, nor any space to stretch. Its frequently dirty, and I don't think it is clean or disinfected more than once a week. The locker room is tiny and barely usable. The ventilation is poor, so it almost always smells like feces. There are 4 televisions in the cardio area, but three of them are always playing fox news for some inexplicable reason, and no one seems to know how to change them. The elliptical machines have the smallest stride i've ever seen and are less useful than just walking. I must say that the staff is very nice, warm, and friendly, but that's about the only positive feature of the place. Your membership is also valid at its sister location in Somerset. I've heard that the Somerset location is very large and has lots of brand new and well maintained equipment. Why, then, is this one the complete opposite?
