Fantastic local spot for Southern comfort foods. Only open for breakfast and lunch with a different lunch special each day (ask for the weekly schedule). It's old and it's dingy, but so was my granny's kitchen; both put out consistently good food for many years.If you're vegan or don't like grease, you'll probably want to go somewhere else. The vegetable options are always delicious, but if they're not using butter and/or bacon grease in everything except maybe the sweet tea some kind of sorcery is afoot.Oh, and if you want cornbread, be prepared to be asked if you want it baked or fried -- because they serve both kinds. Who does that?!

Terrible and DIRTY every time I've been there! These people don't know what they are doing! Can't pay me to go back.

I got a to-go lunch order for me and my son just after Christmas. The food was very tasty and well seasoned. I got fried chicken, green beans, cooked cabbage and a roll. The price was one meat, two veggies and a roll for $5.99 (I think). I thought that was a decent price for what it included. They also serve breakfast. The only drawback that I can think of is that they are not open for supper. They are only open for breakfast and lunch.

Passing thru at lunch time and looking for a place to eat that wasn't a chain restaurant. Found this gem and was extremely happy. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, cream corn and apples. My fiancé had a cheeseburger and fries with a chicken salad sandwich to go as it's her favorite. The meat loaf was great, the mashed potatoes phenomenal and the cream corn had the perfect amount of sweetness. Before we left she sampled the chicken salad and loved it! We then inquired about purchasing some of it to go. They were more than willing to accommodate our request even on a day when they were extremely busy as power was out around the county and they had them lined up at the door! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing thru or really just anyone!!!! (id give them 20 stars if I could)
