I absolutely love my vet clinic. I've been coming here since I moved to Lexington and I am always impressed with their level of compassion and professionalism. I had a special needs dog that I knew would take a special doctor since we were frequent flyers. My in-laws raves about this clinic, and since they were in a similar situation, I followed their recommendation. When my little guy reached the end of his life, they did everything they could and showed me so much kindness. After he passed, I received the sweetest letter from Dr. Sallee. He said he wished he could've done more, but that my pup was so lucky to have had me as his mom. That was almost 3 years ago and that has stuck with me ever since. I usually see Dr. Sallee or Dr. McCord, but I never worry if I have to see another doctor if I need to be squeezed in. You can tell each staff member and vet enjoys their job and loves the creatures they care for. 11/10 would recommend.

I can't say enough about the staff and Doctors at Gainesway. I have taken my pets there for the last 15+ years and have always been happy with the care they have shown. They don't push unnecessary procedures and are honest while showing compassion! I drive past several vet office that are more covenient to my house but going to Gainesway is worth it!

Extremely disappointed with this vet. my 1 year and a half old puppy misty is a french bulldog. she had a small growth that I was concerned about. I had one of the vets look at her and her small growth. Upon looking at her the vet instantly jumped to surgery reporting to get the growth off instead of investigating her growth further. also the vet didn't inspect anything on her else. with vets, typically do a head-to-toe assessment of your dog... I felt uncomfortable with doing surgery on my puppy for a growth that was likely benign. So then, I decided to take her to a second vet for an opinion and after examining a sample of her skin, they told me surgery wasn't necessary and the growth will eventually go away on its own. The growth is called a histiocytoma. I'm not sure if the vet is looking to make a quick buck off my pet or had a lack of experience. Regardless, highly do not recommend taking your animal here.

These people are heartless. My sweet dog passed away a few months ago. My partner and I are finally ready to start the process of getting another pup. We called to get records for our sweet departed angel that a rescue needed only to discover they had not made us aware that his rabies shot had lapsed prior to his passing. While I fully acknowledge that we should have kept better records of the date, we were literally in there a number of times before our dog passed, and they never said a word. When I asked why they didn't mention it any of the times we were there, the receptionist LAUGHED and said it wasn't her job to keep up with it. These people have no business dealing with the public or with animals.

The main receptionist was incredibly rude and made my partner and I very uncomfortable. The vet that we saw didn't really seem inclined to listen to my concerns with my dog, he just seemed to be late for something and rushing us along. We will be taking our animals elsewhere.

A vet that listened would be nice. Maybe one that cared about the animals entrusted to their care.

I have been a client at this clinic for a little over year, and I've always found the staff to be incredibly kind and welcoming. However, I wanted to share my recent experience during my dog's wellness check-up.After the appointment, my dog returned home extremely lethargic, which initially caused me great concern. I was worried he might have ingested something harmful and was ready to take him to the emergency vet. Thankfully, after consulting with a friend who works at a different veterinary clinic, I learned that his symptoms might be a normal reaction to his vaccinations. While I'm relieved that everything turned out fine, I would have appreciated some communication from the veterinarian about what to expect after the vaccinations. It would be helpful for pet owners to be informed about potential side effects when pets are taken to the back for procedures.Overall, I appreciate the care my dog has received, but I believe clearer communication could enhance the experience for pet owners.

The literal best place to bring your pet in. I cannot recommend this animal clinic enough for the prices that are the absolute best in Lexington, the vets that care the most about your pet and the quality of veterinarians they have at this place. It's a shame that so many other veterinarian practices are bought out and then lose the compassion and care they once had for treating animals. You don't find that at all at, this location. Your pet and your pet's health is put first and it's affordable care that won't be out of your price range like a lot of the other places in Lexington. I cannot say enough great things about this location and Dr. Dabney. I literally left another veterinary practice (VCA in Versailles) that I had gone to for 7 dogs and 26 years to follow Dr. Dabney here.
