Famous Dave's

Was hankering for BBQ but weary of most. Hadn't tried Famous Dave's so when it came up in Google Maps on Richmond Rd (less than 2 miles away) I was intrigued because I hadn't seen it driving by Southland Church many times. But Google Maps showed it open. Phone didn't work. Decided to see if another location existed in Lexington and surprised that there was one in Hamburg. Called that one but the number listed went to a non-commercial canned voicemail message. Called the catering number and found out FD's is actually inside the Johnny Carino's! The catering person gave me another number for Carino's take out and said when they answer ask to be transferred to FD's take out line! Strange.Turns out there is a Tuesday platter special that looked good and was cheaper than two regular dinner plates and had ribs, chicken, and brisket with beans and slaw and steak fries, and 2 little corn on the cobs for $29.95! Went looking and there are no signs at all on Johnny Carino's for FDs so I pulled up at their take out and within 8 minutes was rewarded with a nice platter setup. It was more than the two of us could eat. It was still warm, the corn muffins were warm and delicious. No complaints on the quantity or quality of food except the cobs had been soaking in water way too long!! Overall, I was pleasantly surprised after getting past the goofy slight of hand on names and locations. I look forward to trying them again in Greater Cincy. Hope I can find them!

It's like every trip they forget something. I put an order for their ribs n brisket combo with purchase of any entree ($49.00 minimum spend) and I was able to get the deal. $29.23 for the entire meal. When I had gotten there, it seems like they changed up the concept. I usually go in the To Go side and then ask them for my order. Now, they have a shelf area next to where they meet guests to seat them and they put the TO GO orders there. Well, I retrieved my order and found that they forgot to put a corn bread muffin ($1.99 value) with my order. I did get a Baguette. Still, it is NOT the corn bread muffin and I was never notified. Grr....

Just wow. Famous Dave's is a hidden treasure. First, Famous Dave's has a ghost restaurant at Johnny Carino's. The only reason I know this is because I read this in a Yelp review. So I called Johnny Carino's and discussed I wanted to order for Famous Dave's. The person taking the order was very polite. I was told you can only place take out orders. I ordered a Texas brisket sandwich and mashed potatoes. I'm not sure where they are slow cooking brisket, but I'm impressed. I was only able to eat half of the sandwich due to large portions. They have a devil's spit bbq sauce I highly recommend.

Would have been zero. Placed order for family meal online. Was called 20 min before was to pick it up and told they did not have brisket. Keep in mind it was 12pm on a Sunday. Keep in mind it not Franklin Bqq in Austin, Tx when they sell out they sell out its because it's good. Not because it's inept. Canceled the meal. If you can't keep brisket in stock. You can't keep my business. I'm really tired of everyone using covid as a excuse for poor management

Would not return, service is terrible!! We were seated at our table for 15 minutes waiting on our server to take our drink order, meanwhile 2 servers were walking around near our table. We watched 2 parties come in after us and servers took their drink order, delivered their drinks and took their food order. All while we were still waiting to even order our drinks. After sitting for 15 minutes unattended we finally left. I'd recommend Jim 'N Nicks Bar-B-Q instead where you'll receive superb service.

Wayyy overcooked brisket for half the order and had regular brisket for the other half. The texture was 0/10 but the flavor was 7/10. Terrible wait as well.

they got the best chickens and they are so nice worker's and they have the best chickens and costumers service

FYI it's inside Johnny Carinos. I thought my GPS was wack so I searched for the the place a while. Called 4 times before I got an answer. By the time I got there, my pulled chicken sandwich and beans were cold. Tasted good after I microwaved it. Should be clear on the location because I didn't expect a restaurant inside another restaurant.
