El Tarasco Mexican Restaurant

El Tara eco is a Mexican establishment located in a shopping center just off the expressway entrance of Shepherdsville Kentucky. Me and my oldest daughter came in here for a daddy daughter date for lunch on a Sunday around noon. We were seated immediately and greeted with friendly workers. Like most traditional Mexican eateries they start you off with complimentary chips and salsa. Which is always a plus. There chips and salsa were very tasty and the salads had a good flavor. Very similar flavor to another local favorite chain el nopal. For our entrees me and my daughter got something similar. I got the Pollo Feliz and she got the Fiesta Bonita. Whixh both consist of chicken, rice and cheese sauce. Only difference is hers also had shrimp and mine came with tortillas and refried beans. They both cost exactly the same so it's a push on price wise. We both liked our meals quite a bit. I took my tortillas and made 3 burritos and still had chicken cheese and rice left over to eat. So it's good portion size. Chicken had good flavor and unlike some places they do not skimp put on the cheese. My daughter also shared similar sentiments. She liked her meal a lot. So both good plates. Overall we had a nice time. Quick, accurate and tasty service. Indoors was pretty large and had a nice vibe. They had a tasty liking dessert menu but we was in a hurry on this trip as we had a recital to get to soon. So maybe next time we go we will sample the dessert menu.

Traveling through & decided to try this place out! So glad that we did! The restaurant is very clean & colorful. The staff are welcoming right when you walk in the doors. Our food was all hot & fresh & our drinks stayed filled. 5 star experience highly recommend & will return.

Nice little hole in the wall place. The have way better tasting food then El Nopal , staff is friendly and they are on point with drinks.

if you're looking for a good Mexican meal this is the way to go the fried ice cream is delicious the burritos are stellar and they treat you like a human being and they care about the people that they feed not just the money they rock!

Came here on a Wednesday night and this place was pretty busy but there was no wait. Promptly seated and of course chips and salsa soon followed. They have a margarita special for $2.95, order the special cherry lime margarita, yummy! Food was good, service from Freddy was awesome we stayed for newly 4 hours snaking and sipping and visiting.

there was roaches and rats in the bathroom and there was hair in my food and the food was horrible not going again

One of my favorite places! The tortilla soup is incredible, cannot recommend it enough.

El Tarasco has amazing food and a great family atmosphere! The service is fast and the food is always hot. 100% would recommend El Tarasco for anyone passing through or who is wanting to try out and support a fantastic local business!

So good every time . It is like the Mexican food I was fed in California Never disappointed This is the place I will order anything ground beef

Excellent food, nice restaurant and very helpful and friendly employees. I'm addition, they also have some very good nightly specials.
