I love this place. Awesome food and open nearly all the time!! Highly recommended.Taco Fajita salad is my favorite.

This is the best hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. No one would really notice it or you might just drive by it on Mt Zion road. But the service here is amazing. We order takeout from here all the time too and they give us so many chips to take home! And the chips are always warm never days old like other places. I always order something new because I love all the food. We always start with the queso or the chorizo queso. The taco salad is great! The chorizo chicken is my go to favorite with grilled chicken covered in queso and chorizo. It's always cooked great. My husband recommends the chimichanga from here. We come often and bring our friends when we do to get them noticed.

Well, this place is not the cleanest and the service is very slow, waiters keep talking to each other instead of serving people, even when restaurant has only a couple of clients; each time we go there we wait 30-40 minutes to actually get our food. Food itself is ok.

Another fantastic El Rio Grande! Only been open In this location for a year! Clean fun atmosphere. Very friendly and good service. And great big portions sizes. Been twice now and both times the food was excellent. The only issue I have is the restroom could have been a little bit nicer. Not so much cleaner but just nicer.

El Rio Grande does not get the credit it deserves. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in NKY. The service is great and even during the pandemic they still have provided quality food and service. It's our go-to for carrying out because it's so close to our house. They always have our food ready in less than half an hour. And if you decide to eat in they have provided so much space between tables that it feels very safe and truly helps the experience. Give it a try if you haven't yet!

Recently moved to the area and saw this place on Yelp. Because of the great reviews, my husband and I tried it. We were not disappointed! The chips were crisp - the salsa very tasty. My shredded chimichanga was great and my husband said the Three Amigos enchiladas were very good. The atmosphere is lively and the service friendly. We will definitely be back.

Wow!! This place is a hidden gem. My wife and I were driving back to Ohio from vacation and stopped by El Rio for dinner. I love fajitas and order them 90% of the time I go to a Mexican restaurant. I order chicken fajitas with beans and rice. No cheese or sour cream and a side of guacamole. I usually end up leaving the warm corn tortillas alone and eat my meal with the complimentary tortilla chips instead. There's a reason for the backstory! El Rio has FAJITA NACHOS! It's yummy fajita goodness over tortilla chips! I didn't even need to make it! An added bonus is that it doesn't come with the five thousand dishes that regular fajitas come with; no hot skillet or a gigantic hot plate of sides. It was a regular sized plate with fajita nachos and rice and beans. It was delicious! It was everything I wanted it to be. Their salsa was also to die for and I smothered my rice in it. Kind of a gross description, but it was outstanding. Service was great and I have no complaints with the staff. Friendly, prompt, and attentive. I highly recommend!!!

The host asked me and my husband to share a set of silverware so he wouldn't have to wash more utensils. Absolutely ridiculous. Then no one even acknowledged us or came to our table for 15 minutes and we were 1 of 3 tables in the entire restaurant. Do better!

Food was delicious! Service was fast and friendly. If I lived closer I would go again.
