El Acapulco isn't close to home, but every once in a while you want a different Mexican restaurant for dinner. Such is the case last Friday when we wanted a break from the several Mexican eateries close to home. A 20 minute drive to Preston Highway and there we were. We've been here several times before and have never been disappointed. On this particular Friday we were seated immediately and started perusing the menu. El Acapulco has a very sizable menu with vegetarian and meat-o-saurus options ad-infinitum.On previous visits I've had enchiladas of some sort and this time just. plain. tacos sounded good. My eyes spotted the Quesa-Tacos and I was intrigued. Melted cheese between corn tortillas, then filled with a protein and covered with cilantro and onion?!?!? SOUNDS SUPERB. My selections were birria, chorizo, and carne asada. More on that later.El Acapulco is much larger inside than it appears to be on the outside. I don't know what it was before it became El Acapulco, but it's huge! Open ceiling with exposed rafters give it a very open feel. There are a number of screen scattered around the with current news playing, and the background music isn't overwhelming. The staff is busy hustling, 100% of the time. It's always been clean and well-maintained.About ten minutes later our food arrived. I anxiously awaited my Quesa-Tacos and you can see by my photo that I was not disappointed! I've eaten a lot of tacos in a lot of restaurants, but these were, hands-down, some of the absolute best. The tortillas appeared to be slightly grilled on each side to melt the cheese between the layers...and It. Was. Amazeballs. When I was done I was kinda sad that they were gone. I was at once happy and sad. That doesn't happen too often.I'm the kind of person who finds one thing he REALLY likes at a restaurant and largely stays with it. I think the Quesa-Tacos and I are going to be come really good friends.

This place has lots of flare and the biggest menu I have ever seen in my life. We started with cheese caso. My wife went with the poco asada like the Monica platter just without shrimp. I of course had to try the fajitas steak. This is not a Military friendly restaurant.

Just moved out here and first time in this place. I walked in to pick up my to go order and 11 (no joke, 11) people that work here looked at me, didn't greet me or anything. It wasn't busy at all, 17 services and 1 hostess for 8 tables. I was standing in front of the hostess and she literally didn't greet me, instead was on her phone as you can see right here. After 9 minutes of standing here and she walked away, I flagged someone down whom looked annoyed that I did so I can just pick up my order and leave. The place is loud and smells like bleach & burn tortillas. The food is just ok, nothing special, I can get a much better taco at taco bell, this place stinks and I'll never come back.

When I walked in, I was very pleased and enjoyed how spacious the establishment is. It does not feel crowded or cramped, and all the booths have plenty of room which I liked. My server was very nice and efficient. I ordered the Pollo a la Parrilla. It came out hot and steaming, which is a wonderful indication that it was fresh and well cooked. The portions are very large here too for a very good price, which makes a nice second meal if you get a to-go box. I would highly recommend this place and I will be coming here more often.

I actually went here for the 1st time in years & it looks like they completely redid the inside. It's pretty nice! Their margaritas at great. I only eat beans & rice so I can rate other than that.. which were perfect. Great service as well!

Awesome spot for lunch. Food is served fresh, fast, hot and delicious. If you're pressed for time you will have no issues getting in and out under an hour. My go to is the chori pollo. Everything yummy is in this dish. Chicken, sausage, rice and queso. Definitely try it if those things sound good to you.

This place was recommended by a friend. The food and service was good. The portion of fajitas in the picture is only for one person and it was more than enough for the two of us. You don't always find good jalapenos in restaurants but this was a good one
