Beautiful view of Taylorsville Lake just inside the private gates at Edgewater Resort in Taylorsville Ky!
Taylorsville Lake Marina with a light evening fog over the water
This is a picture of the cottage I stayed in last year.
The upstairs master suite has a large jetted tub, recliners, and a private balcony.

With all of the Covid stuff, we needed a safe little getaway. I rented a house at Edgewater Resort on Taylorsville Lake for 3 nights over Fathers Day weekend. The house was huge and had everything you could possibly need. There were 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The master suite was upstairs and had 2 private balconies, a jetted tub and tons of space. There was a nice 4 person hot tub on the deck and picnic tables and a grill. My parents came up and stayed one night and we had a blast grilling and enjoying the outdoor space. We were walking distance to the little clubhouse which has a pool but it was not open due to Covid. I think it opened July 1st though. We did some hiking and checked out the Taylorsville Lake Marina which was a 5 minute drive. They had kayaks, canoes and boats to rent. Daniel and I rented a 2 person kayak for a day. Unfortunately, after about 30 minutes on the lake, we got caught in a storm. But, the workers sent a pontoon boat to rescue us and gave us a credit to come back for another Kayak day. Super fun experience. Best part- it is only a 35 minute drive from Louisville.

This is the perfect getaway. Our cottage was very cute, with a balcony overlooking the lake. When we arrived, there was a note welcoming my family with a few tips for our stay. They hot tub was already warm, on the balcony overlooking the lake. Everything was very clean, the kitchen fully equipped with appliances, utensils, cookware, and more. We will stay here again as soon as we can get back.

Perfect for our Thanksgiving getaway..Stayed there for Thanksgiving week with family. It's a cluster of cottages in a remote area in the woods, but with all of the amenities, overlooking Taylorsville Lake. We had a fireplace in the main room where our family gathered and visited. The master bedroom was great, large with a hot tub. There was also a hot tub on the deck we could have used. There is a State Park and marina down the road. They have an outdoor pool , a spa, a sand volleyball court and a place where you can bring canoes down and canoe. I can see how in the summer this would be great for boating and fishing and hanging out at the state park. We saw dozens of wild turkeys in our yard , a skunk and a huge blue heron there, also fish jumping out of the water at the lake.. We brought our dog - he loved this place! It is remote, but there is a store a few miles down the road and access to some restaurants (not many). I'd advise bringing your own food (there's a full kitchen) and just hanging out at the resort and enjoying the lake and the outdoors.Really enjoyed this, so relaxing!

Two words....BED BUGS. Avoid cottage 40 and any cottage with Suzanne listed as manager. my entire body is covered in medically CONFIRMED bed bug bites. All other bed occupants got bitten as well. None of us had bites or history with bed bugs prior to our stay. Suzanne claims the exterminator didn't find any (they are extremely hard to find!) and refuse to do anything more than "sorry". Strange that confirmed body bites aren't enough proof for someone. Enter at your own risk

Place is absolutely filthy. Hot tub water was brown with dirt and grime everywhere all over the tub. bugs everywhere flying around, clearly nothing has been cleaned in weeks. Management is extremely awful, rude, harassing, and very controlling, don't let you do anything to have fun. Carpets are dirty. So if one word is needed, that word would be DIRTY. do not stay here, there is absolutely nothing to do, and views aren't anything special.

I won a gift certificate at a silent auction in October 2015. It expires in October 2016 and I could never get anyone to return my calls in order to book this cabin. The staff were rude and not helpful. I would not take a chance on this place.Wendy

This place is a joke. Bought a living social deal for a lakeside cottage and bourbon tour. Yeah, the place is beside a lake, but if you plan on accessing said lake, you're going to have to drive. As for the bourbon tour, it's an hour away. Not really looking to go to a bourbon and/or wine tasting, then drive an hour back to my cottage. There is only an hour window for check in, from 4-5pm. After getting stuck in traffic on our way from indianapolis, we were told that we "just made it". This considering the fact that we called at 3:45 to explain the traffic situation. There is a laundry list of rules, and a substantial charge for any infraction. The only cable news is fox, which gives you an idea of the owners political leanings. Should definitely have done more research before spending the money. I advise spending your money elsewhere.

We purchased a Living Social deal so this place was a nice weekend getaway for us. It took a few calls to reach someone to make a reservation there. Making the reservations wasn't too difficult but there were many emails of details. We were moved to a house with a view of the lake which was great from the hot tub. They had a personalized welcome note inside. The house was more spacious than what we expected. The house was clean except for the bathtub which needed a scrubbing and a new curtain liner. Overall, we were happy with the mini-trip. We had been told that there weren't many places to eat near there but we found a Hometown Pizza, Papa John's, Subway, McDonald's, Taco Bell, etc. If you are driving distance, bring a cooler with some food to cook in the kitchen.

Cabin was nice and lake was nice but management/employees were rude and borderline harassing! When you check in, you get a full list of things you can not do or things you will be charged if you do, nothing extreme but we got the idea from that alone that they were very strict. The next day we got stopped walking our dogs by someone who jumped out of a vehicle and began to grill us if we had paid our pet deposit which we had, the girl never introduced herself or spoke to us nicely, it was more an accusing situation. You also aren't allowed to park extra vehicles at your cabin so we parked in the visitor parking and let the office know that we had guests that day, once we got back to the cabin, they called to let us know that we came into the office with 3 people even though we were staying in a 1 bedroom and there was a fee for having more people in our cabin. We told them we were just grilling and having guests before going to the lake and nobody else was staying and they said they just wanted to "inform" us of the policies in case we didn't understand them! We felt the whole 2 days we were there they were just looking for ways to charge you for extra things and it made the whole trip a little uneasy, we ended up being so uneasy about what was next and what we'd be charged for that we ended up leaving early. Our hot tub didn't work (we understood mistakes happen) but we weren't nearly as rude to them about this as they were to us. We also had to pick up a key on Saturday since ours expired at noon, our check-in paper said the office opened at 10 but in fact they didn't open til 11 so we were stuck sitting around waiting for an hour before we could even go to the lake or we'd have no way back in when we returned. We were looking for a place to get away that wasn't far from home for long weekends or when we needed a break, however this is NOT it!! I wouldn't waste my time going again.
