They make sure you feel safe, offering helmets and walking you step by step!
Sarah stopped to take our picture along the trail.
The trails were beautiful, I could only image it in the fall time!
We were following Squirt, a very friendly lil' filly.

Angel
Joleen was the sweetest horse, she made feel like an experienced horse girl.
One of our friends paired up with his horse Sandy, one of the horses that started out at the ranch with Rocky and Dave!
June was an excellent horse for a child new to riding

I cannot recommend these stables enough. If you are in town to enjoy Mammoth Cave, I highly recommend doing the trail ride here. The trail guides are amazing and the staff is just honestly top notch. My fiancé and I got engaged here. (So I may be a little bias ). But, the staff worked with my fiancé and his family all the way up to the actual proposal. The staff did a great job playing along (I had no idea my fiancé had planned this)! Once we got towards the end of the trail ride, the trail guide directed us to a nearby field, got me off my horse and distracted me with taking my photo with my adorable horse June, when I turned around-there he was down on one knee. The staff helped make this a day I will remember for the rest of my life & I will be thinking about them on our big day!

If you or your family has never been or hasn't been on a horse in awhile this is the place to book a trip with. Horses were all well behaved and well cared for. Guides are knowledgeable and worked well to teach the kids the ins and outs before we left the stables. Spent a lot of time on horses when I was younger and it was nice to get back on one again. Got the pleasure of riding Angel and she was marvelous.

This place is a favorite spot to camp for my family. Depending on the time of year we camp for a very fair fee and in the colder months we rent the small apartment that they have above the stables, also priced very affordably.Primitive camp, camping with your own horses are both available. The hosts at the stables are so welcoming and always make us feel at home.We took an hour trail ride into the Mammoth Cave Forest and Rocky told us some great stories about the area. They were very in tune with our group and pairing us with the right horse for us.We were given great instruction, rode a beautiful trail, and really couldn't have asked for a better time. This is our fourth time back to the property and we are already wanting to plan our next!Say hi to Molly the Mini mule when you go!I can't say enough great things about this place that we just stumbled on a few years back.

Rocky is fantastic. We took our Girl Scout troop and she helped us earn our Badge. She talked to and showed the girls and had them try taking care of the horses. Then we went for a beautiful ride in the park. The facilities are clean and well kept, the horses well cared for, and on top of it all my daughter left her coat and Rocky went through the extra trouble if mailing it back to us. We hope to return!

We had a blast on our guided horseback ride in Mammoth Cave National Park. Huge thanks to Dave, the Double J Stables guides, and our horses. We did the 1.5 hour tour and we wished we had booked one of the longer tours.

The campground is nice lush and green. There are NO trees for shade for any campsites. They do have 2 bathrooms with showers, however there is no ventilation in them at all therefore it is very hot inside. There is a gas heater inside for winter use if you're there in the winter. There are no outlets in the bathrooms to use hair dryer etc. Bathrooms are clean though. Stalls are nice and are covered. They do supply sawdust for stalls.

They were very polite and answered all the questions we had. They handled everything very well and the horses were well trained. Definitely would recommend for beginner riders and someone who just wants an easy ride

Went horseback riding in April with my husband and 2 kids ages 7 and 10. It was my kids first time on a horse. The staff and owners were amazing with the kids, we came in the middle of an intense thunderstorm and they let the kids help feed the horses and explained about their personalities while we waited for the weather to clear. My husband ended up being a last minute addition and they accommodated us without any issue. It was a great experience and it was a nice quiet ride since they are at the other end of the national park from the main entrance. I am so happy we went with this stable for my kids first experience with horses!

Rarely leave reviews but they deserve 5 stars! We've ridden all over the US and had a great experience with Double J. The owners and the guide knew every little quirk of each horse and made all the riders feel comfortable. Horses are healthy and beautiful. You can tell they are well taken care of and the grounds are equally as gorgeous.

This was a fantastic place to visit and ride. My husband and I hadn't been on horseback for decades and our 8 year old son had only done corral rides. Dave and Rocky were lovely hosts and very friendly. They paired us with perfect horses for our skill levels (ie: basically non-existent!). The stable / horses are wonderful for novice and inexperienced riders. I know enough to say the horses are very well taken care of, calm, and sweet. Sarah was an excellent and knowledgeable trail guide. They all made sure we were comfortable on our horses before setting off and were engaging hosts. Sarah, Dave, and Rocky especially went out of their way to make our son feel special and even sent us home with a horseshoe (which made our son's day!). Very reasonable rates and a great experience. The scenery and ability to ride a National park was wonderful. We plan to visit again!
