Dixie Chicken

The chicken wings are amazing, so you should definitely order more than you think bc they will be gone as soon as you get them home and open the box. The women that took my order told me that there'd be a wait but I didn't wait long maybe 5-7 minutes because they were making the chicken wings and wedges to order so they were still hot when I got there home. I will be back that's for sure and I'll order a lot more wings next time. It's basically a "To Go Order" place not a place you get your food and sit down to eat. That may be the only downfall. Try it you'll love it!!

The chicken wings great. But the Jack Salmon whole or filets are worth every penny you pay when you can't close the box you know that fish is huge, fresh to order that fish don't sit around a for the meal you get to big pieces of fish and to sides 12$ and some change. The chicken pieces are fresh cooked to order as well you want be disappointed.

I came in to try the chicken wings, cause well, why not?! I ended up with jerk chicken, Mac n cheese, Broccoli casserole, and green beans. My husband ended up with a four piece fried chicken meal, mashed potatoes and gravy and greens. So much for "let's just try their wings". I was a little disappointed. Broccoli and cheese or broccoli casserole was probably the best thing I ate, but it was very salty. I like a lot of salt and the fact that I didn't have to add any tells me something. The macaroni and cheese is extremely cheesy but it was missing salt and pepper. I don't expect that it's seasoned the way I would eat it, but I do expect there to be a little salt and a little flavor to it.The green beans were OK. You could taste the salt and pepper in it, and I think maybe vinegar? I'm not quite sure I wouldn't order them again though. The mashed potatoes were very good! And they serve them in a much larger container. The greens looked good, but they had so much vinegar in them I couldn't even eat them. Neither did my husband. I really liked the fried chicken. I think I would come back for the wings. (should've just done that in the first place!!) Anyway, they were crunchy like they're supposed to be, and the flavor was good. I'm not a fan of their so-called jerk chicken. As soon as I saw the sign I wanted it. But, it looked more like barbecue chicken and it tastes like baked chicken with some type of spicy sauce on the top, but it's not jerk. All in all the food was okay. I would come back again to try something different the next time, it's always good to see what else an establishment has to offer. I wouldn't let this experience stop me from going back. Oh, The other reason for three stars is the guy who was working behind the counter was talking to his co-worker And said "Man, people been coming in here all day like this, it's getting on my nerves". Do what? I get that he might be tired, maybe he had been there since early morning, but keep those comments in the back.

For what it is, Dixie Chicken is fantastic. The chicken is great. It has a good batter and good crisp to it. It's better than your national chain chicken, and cheaper too.The sides are also better than anything you'll get at Popeye's or KFC.This place is comparable to Indi's. If you like Indi's, you'll like Dixie Chicken.Note that it is takeaway only. Which is fine.

Occupying the spot of a former bakery, across from the Walgreen's at a corner of Dixie Highway and Crums Lane, near the intersection where it's a complete cluster%$^ with Dixie Highway taking one direction, 7th Street beginning and Crums Lane attempting to cross both, sits Dixie Chicken. I don't know if this one is associated with the one that exists at Oak Street nearer to downtown, but I suspect there's some connection.Dixie Chicken is strictly carry out. Call in your order or stop by, they usually have their mainstays (fried chicken, spicy or mild, ribs, fresh pulled pork and assorted sides, mac & cheese, greens, yams, etc.) available in a heating table behind glass. They'll also cook some chicken up fresh if you like. Compared to some of the other local fried chicken, Dixie's is really similar to Indi's. Dixie's chicken is crispy with a thick, salty batter but I don't think there's enough of a striking difference from Indi's to choose one over the other. It doesn't help Dixie's that their location is difficult to get in and out of unless you're familiar with the area, and they don't have a drive-thru. They seem to be doing decent business so I wouldn't be surprised if they stick around but considering there's an Indi's right up the road, I'd likely choose them first.That is to say, not to say that Dixie's isn't fine, it's just I'd likely not cross the road just to get to this particular chicken.

Ordered 50 chicken tenders 25 mild and 25 spicy, 10 wedges, and rolls. Picked up today for family dinner. Got home and placed in oven. 90 minutes later pulled out to severe for dinner for family and received 50 wings. Needless to say major disappointment. Called and since paid cash to help them due to credit card fees. No refund. Had to bring food back and give me tenders. Not an option due to an hour round trip and family at house. Dixie Chicken fails on customer service. Sad thing their chicken is tasty. I'll never eat there again. Usually in 2/3x a month for lunch. Not anymore.

Just tried this place for the first time. Most of the food did taste good. Not even 20 minutes after eating my stomach began to cramp really bad and then I got sick. 100% know it was the food. Hate to say it cause the chicken was good and it was all cooked fresh. So nope can't eat there again. Makes me question how clean it was and wasn't....

This place is our new go to place for wings! They have the best chicken around! The service is always good, the chicken tastes awesome, and it's affordable. So glad we found them!

My daughter spent $44 treating my Mom, Aunt,Myself and her. . I asked to bag each meal seprately. After several times of asking which sides went with which dinner I offered to bag my self. I bagged two and had to ask for napkins, condiments and utensils. WEnt to the car so other custumers could come in. Let my Daugher get the other two and of course they messed up the orders and there was no napkins, condiments or utensils. The food was not fresh, not warm and very bland. The Jack salmon was fresh. Rib tips awful,

I am going to give them 3 stars. The service was good and the ladies were friendly. I got a few diffrent things to try. The fried chicken is the best. We got a large order so it was freshly cooked! I got a cod fish dinner and the fish was cooked to order but the filet seem to get lost in the batter so it was mostly crust.The bbq ribs were okay but the tasted oven baked. The ribs were tender and flavorful but missing the true bbq flavor. The mac n cheese was bland though it looked good. The green beans were okay they just needed a little salt. The yams were fine but seems undercooked. I had a hard chunks in my bowl but they were sweet and tasty so I was kind of disappointed. The potatoes wedges we nothing special just regular tasting wedges. They did forget my an order of corn bread but I wasnt to upset about it...Over all I think I would go back but only for the chicken!
