This is a fairly large Middle Eastern/Mediterranean store, unlike most in the region. I am constantly on the look-out for places that sell halal meat as I have friends who eat only that. I looked this place up on Yelp as I had business in the area. The location is quite weird - it's behind an auto store but not exactly behind. We found it, thanks to another Yelper who mentioned that. There was no one to direct us when we entered. So we made our way to the back of the store where the butcher counter usually is. The butcher greeted us and provided us with what we asked for. The next day, I made soup with the chicken I got and it was fresh. They also carry plenty of Mediterranean staples, dates, olives, hookah, herbs, nougats etc. I found the prices to be a little higher than what I'm used to seeing in such stores. We went later in the day and so, did not get to see their meat pies. There was still some baklava left though. I wouldn't go out of me way to go here but will be back when in the area.

Worst customer service ever, rude employees, expired merchandise and if you try to complain about any thing, you will get threatened by the manager, he called my work today threatening to harm me and threatened to contact my employer about my posting.....The meat section is very bad meat smell dead and blue colored, chicken was disgusting discolored and reeks like death. No prices are labeled or expiration dates on most products....I don't recommend it at all....

First of all, this is a specialty grocer and I may bot be the best person to recognize what it has to offer. It's hard to find, even somewhat hidden behind a car mechanic shop! However, once you know where it is, you're fine. The carts are dirty, so bring some wipes. My friend who accompanied me is Armenian and she loves this place. I found Greek yogurt (homemade), Greek honey, spices, beans, freshly baked pita bread, etc. the prices were very reasonable! I would go back for these items.

Hot pita right off the line and Iraqi Kabob! Great stuff. Good middle eastern food is impossible to find in KY. This place is a jewel.

It was a good experience and they have a great checkout system. The goat cheese was good and the bread in the front. I would just say they need a little cleanliness and also can do better with throwing away expired products.

This middle eastern bakery on Bardstown is a little hard to find. It's just north of Buechel behind O'reilly's auto and Thornton's gas station. It's worth the effort.Along with all of your pantry goods they also have Halal meats in the back left corner. Goat, Lamb and beef. They will even grind meat for you fresh. The refrigerated section has cheeses and fresh salads. The hummus is pretty good. The best part is the bakery. Fresh baked pita. 8 loaves for $1.99! They have pastries and a variety of leavened breads as well. They are open seven days from 10-9.
