This is where the locals meet to eat. Small town feel. Very welcoming! Prices are great and food is good! If your traveling stop by!

Tried this place for the first time. Over all just a bad experience. Dingy and dirty looking and feeling. I almost flipped out of my bench seat because it wasn't fastened down. I ordered the Manhattan but the waitress said that wasn't available on Saturday. The menu didn't mention that. So I ordered a cheese burger. It came with potato chips that most likely came from a big bag. The burger patty was very thin. That's ok with me, but it was very overcooked, crispy and smelled fishy. Honestly the worst hamburger I've ever had. My wife's breakfast was cool to the touch. Told the waitress about my burger and she didn't charge me for it. I love to try places I've never been to and now I know that I don't have to try this place ever again.

The service was outstanding, never had to wait for a refill. Food came out fast and was good. Nothing fancy just good traditional breakfast food. Don't let the cash only scare you away. It's not that big of a deal. Just bring cash.

Oh Kentucky, the land of many horses...or something. Anyways, time for my first restaurant experience in the south with a cute breakfast spot called Deloris' Cafe. The space itself was quite large with ample seating and a lot of decoration throughout the walls, including photos of people (presumably some of Deloris...have yet to gain any confirmation on this), America pride, and oh right, ads. A whole bunch of ads and marketing plugs from other fellow Owensboro businesses! How great is that! These places are holding onto each other helping one another out, that's America right there!I believe I got one of their breakfast spread that included some scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuit, grits, and coffee. Pretty filling meal for like $5 or something. Crazy, right? None of them city folk prices or nothing!I know I'll never be here again, but because I have a good memory of my short time at this cafe and its warm personality, I can't help but give it 4 stars. You go, Deloris, wherever you are...

Owensboro has a few selections for that authentic mom and pop locally owned cafes. This morning we stopped at Deloris's cafe for breakfast. It certainly has a very communal feel and that local cafe environment you hope for. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. The service I guess you could say was average (maybe less than) but the food fell quite short of our expectations.I should mention up front that this place is Cash or Check only .... Check , really ? Many people don't carry cash anymore let alone a check book. Luckily we had some cash on us, but most of the time we would have had to turn around and go somewhere else. When we decided to go out for breakfast what I really wanted was a good biscuits and gravy. Upon arrival the place was packed which seemed a good sign. We sat ourselves and our server arrived in a timely manner, but the same could not be said for the food.I ordered two eggs over medium, ham, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. The American Breakfast combo I think it was called , or something to that effect. The food took an abnormally long time to arrive. We joked that we didn't want to have to wait till lunch for our breakfast. We never received an update on our food and it was somewhat unnerving to see tables sat long after us receive their orders well before our food arrived. We will start with what I was craving , biscuits and gravy... What I wanted to avoid in my search was the same old made from a mix gravy you get at most chain places. I guess I should be careful what I ask for because what I got was a flavorless bland gravy that was devoid of any sausage. The only redeeming quality was that it was included in the combo. The eggs were a disaster... overcooked on the outside and nearly raw inside. This happens when your egg pan is too hot, you get a sort of skin outside with a slimy interior. Terrible execution. The ham was severely over cooked to the point of being shoe leather, the hash browns were mush in the center and had an odd texture on the crust. Never seen hash browns like this (and hope I never do again). The coffee was average but plentiful but the orange juice was poor quality.I might have given them 3 stars as that is what I give places that are average, and had the food actually been even average I may have given them 4 stars for having that mom and pop feel I really look for. However the food was not average and I cannot with a good conscience give them an average rating as the overall experience was below average.Given the multiple other options available for breakfast in the area it is unlikely we will be back.

This is one of the best places to get breakfast in Owensboro!! They have phenomenal food, huge meals, & the best prices in town! Definitely a home style breakfast, and very friendly waitresses that will make you feel like part of the family. Very tasty coffee as well. The place is nothing fancy, but don't let that fool you! The food is more than worth it, & you won't find any place that gives the amount of food for such a low price! Very quick service as well. I have even gotten takeout many times when I don't feel like dragging the kids out of the house. It is a nice place to go with the whole family though as they have large tables to accommodate quite a few people.

We ate here after a doctors appt and it was definitely home cooked country soul food! It wasn't pricey either! Best thing was that my coffee was included in the price of my meal!! I've never seen that before!

Great local place to eat! Very welcoming and great prices and great coffee! Great food! But the waitress was very inattentive, took forever to get food. Just saying. Shouldn't take that long to throw together some bacon, eggs, and gravy.

I had the double bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was the best burger I have had in Owensboro. Other person had plate lunch with roast beef mashed potatoes and I do not remember. We both really like our lunch. It exactly what you would expect a family diner in Owensboro to look like, very plain. Prices are good service was terrific.

If you're looking for an old school place with a large food selection, this is the place! When I arrived, the parking lot was packed, so I knew I was in "THE" place to eat. I scanned the room and found "THAT" table - the one where the older regulars sit, tell their tall tales, and joke with the staff. I sat beside that table and was transported back to the days of the classic diner. The staff was helpful, funny, engaging, kind, knowledgeable, and hopping! It really seemed like a family atmosphere. I enjoyed some beef Manhattan and French toast, since they serve the full menu while they're open. I thoroughly enjoyed the tall tales of the gentlemen at the table near me very much. Old school diner with good food and great service.

The last time I went there I sat for about 10 minutes and was never waited on. I left, and went to Huddle House.
