Critchfield Meats Family Market

Great local butcher shop. Many choices in meats from your usual market meats to not so usual meats. It ranges from pork, beef, chicken, seafood to camel, bison, kangaroo, and lamb to say a few. It's a one stop shop that has all the seasonings, sauces, sides, and even a few dessert choices. You can even fill your belly up before you shop from the grill. Some just come there for their famous fried chicken. If you don't want to deal with a crowded grocery store just to pick something up to hurry home to fix something to eat or you're looking to expand your palette this is your place. The workers here are knowledgeable and have a great personality. Definitely a small town southern like atmosphere in a bigger city life.

I have been here three times now for fried chicken but don't think I'll return. The last two times, the grease has been old. You can tell because the chicken looks burnt and is dried out. The first time I had it the chicken was fresh, hot and delicious. It was a game day so perhaps I just picked the right day and time to get it. The next time was around 5:00pm on weekday and the last time was 6:30 on a Friday night. I could maybe understand if I had picked it up in the middle of the day or late at night but these should have been prime tímes for fresh chicken. Very disappointing. Back to Grimes!

I was tasked to pick up a chicken pre-order. However, there was a mixup and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes. The employees were apologetic and offered great service, though.

Great selection of fresh and pre-packaged meats. There was a solid variety of pretty much anything you may need, from smaller cuts to large whole cuts, even some more specialty cuts like wagyu steaks. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the service was efficient. The interior was clean, well organized, and fairly inviting. The meat was definitely high quality, but the prices were also a tad high to match. Would still recommend, and will likely return

A great selection of fresh and frozen meats and fish. This is a good grocery store.The prices are high, but the quality and selection is good.

I haven't been to the store but have experienced their quality meats for years. I look forward to being in this area soon so I can visit and spend way too much time trying to decide on what I want most.

I came here for lunch to try the fried chicken since I had been hearing about it for years. AND IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! I ordered the 2 piece lunch special for $7.99. This came with 2 sides and a bread. So much food for such a reasonable price. I tried the breast and leg for my chicken and macaroni n cheese and corn pudding for the sides. The bread choice was a roll or corn bread (I chose the roll). The fried chicken was the best I've ever had. The Mac n cheese was also very creamy and tasty. The corn pudding was good but a little too sweet for me. The employees were super friendly too. They had a nice seating area for eating as well.

I finally got to the new location of Critchfield's. It's far more spacious than the previous store, clean, loaded with goods. I walked the aisles, taking note of the offerings. Bottom line, it's all about the meat. Produce is very limited. There's a lot of pre-prepared food, which I'm not a fan of, as I'm a DIY home cook. Goods are way overpriced. I can't imagine shopping there, unless I want something unusual, like --- goat!Now, for the fried chicken. I have no frame of reference as I never had it at Safeway. I bought a breast as a taste test and took it home for lunch. The sides were not at all appealing, so I passed. The chicken was tender, the coating crisp, but not so fantastic that I'd go out of my way for it. I'll stick with Grimes!59

Knowledgeable employees to help you make your selections for whatever occasion. The employee who helped me make my selection for a dinner party listen to my plans and helped me get the appropriate amount of meats to serve. Will shop here in the future!

I was given a $50 gift card as a present not long ago. Today I went to use it, and they would not honor it. They claimed they changed their system and could not read the chip. I am very disappointed in the service. Be wary about any gift cards from there.
