Cousins Maine Lobster - Kentucky

I love lobster, and the concept of a lobster food truck is genius! The food truck is new, so it is very clean! They have a great menu display on the side of the truck. The staff are super friendly and helpful! The prices may seem a little high, but you are eating lobster, so. I ordered pretty much one of everything, and it was so worth it! The lobster roll is a must try because it has nice large chunks of lobster and the roll is the perfect softness while still sturdy enough to hold the meat in. I got the Connecticut Roll served warm with butter! The Lobster Tots were my absolute favorite! I love loaded tots, but these were next level! They are tots with warm lobster, cilantro lime sauce, and pico! Chef's kiss!The Lobster Grilled Cheese is as delicious as you would expect it to be! It's that good for your soul sandwich with chunks of lobster in between on Texas toast.The lobster bisque was yummy on its own, but also perfect for dipping the grilled cheese into!I liked the Lobster Tacos, but they aren't top of my list.The Lobster Tail and Tots is exactly as it sounds. Nothing wrong with a good lobster tail, but I enjoyed the lobster mixed into the other items more!They don't skimp on the portions! There were generous chunks of lobster in everything!The Chocolate Whoopie Pie is an absolute must! I still dream about that!

Lobster Quesadilla is delicious comes with pico da gallo and a nice spicy cheese sauce so good Service good No Ambiance as it a food truck just happened to come across it

The lobster rolls are tiny but absolutely delicious! The side order of tots is bland but the lobster rolls are the real jewel here!

I was excited to see this food truck as I driving down Hurstbourne. I love lobster. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese and the employee recommended the lobster bisque. The employees were nice and it didn't take long to get my food. The lobster bisque and the grill cheese had large pieces of lobster. They were good. Although good, I was hoping to be wowed. I was hoping the lobster would have a bit more flavor.

Amazing fresh lobster. My favorite was the garlic butter and the whoopee pie. I can't wait till they open a restaurant here in Louisville

Had noticed the food truck would be in the McMahon Center today so we decided to give it a try. There was no line so I walked right up to the window and was greeted with a friendly smile. The truck has a huge screen depicting pictures of food, people, weather and more. There is no seating but as a food truck you expect to get it to go. I got the derby special choosing the Connecticut as my roll. The bun resembles a large Texas toast sliced in the middle buttered and browned to perfection. It was stuffed with huge buttery chunks of lobster. The accompanying tots are large enough to feed an army, could have been a bit crispier for my taste but delicious nonetheless. Don't be afraid to give this truck a try.

I remember seeing this pitch on Shark Tank and understood it was of Barbara's big success stories so was excited to try it. Guess I'm glad I did but won't be back and not sure I can recommend it unless you are a fan. Short review is poor quality, not as advertised, missing items, improperly cooked, great packaging and friendly staff, poor app. Now for the details... You are encouraged to order via the app to avoid "lines" but depending on where and when you go this may not be needed. I used the app and got there before my appointed time but my food was not the most warm. App doesn't really give you good photos and I found it crashed several times. Allegedly they offer a 15% discount when you give email, but I never got that offer. I ordered the Derby Combo with the popular "Connecticut Roll" which was supposed to be warm lobster on a New England Roll with warm garlic butter with lemon. As you can see in the pic it was served on a slice of texas toast, with no lemon (if lemon was drizzled on it I did not detect it). There was a hint of garlic but I think that was from the toast? They also forgot my bottled water (I didn't see a spot for me to grab it myself, but even if I was, they should have told me where to get it. I didn't check the bag until driving off. As other online reviewers have noted , the sandwich is quite small for the price $23 before tax. Combo with tots/drink is $26 before tax. they also default to a 20% tip which is not really appropriate for an owner-run food truck. You can change the amount to 5, 10% but not a dollar amount on the app. Food quality was poor, while there was quite a bit of lobster packed onto the toast, it was VERY chewy, so either frozen or overdone. Tots were undercooked and I had to put them in the air fryer. They are generous with the tots. Overall I spent $30, and I did get full, but the quality was lacking and they didn't provide the advertised food (roll, lemon etc.). the staff was enthusiastic and friendly, and the packaging and truck looked nice and clean. Those are the only positives. Save your money

I am from Maine, and their lobster rolls and whoopie pies are excellent! I have dined with them a few times and they never disappoint. I follow them around our area, and when they get close, we are there!! Kudos guys!!

Best fresh lobster I've had in a long time! Food truck was clean and the workers were very pleasant. Made an account to earn rewards cause I know I will be returning soon.

The Connecticut Roll and the Lobster Bisque are superb! A coworker got the Lobster Tots and she gave them 2 very BIG thumbs up. The guys working the truck are very nice and are quick to get your order ready. Don't miss them when they come to town - you won't be disappointed!!
