Commonwealth Theatre Center remains an unparalleled training center and performance venue not just in Kentucky but in the region as well. The productions are fantastic, yes, but instruction starts at a tender age for many young adults. While some do continue their studies in post-secondary settings, others build self-confidence, lifelong friendships and firm team-building skills that translate well in all facets of life.

What a great place for kids to learn, relate, and act. I've seen several things here and always enjoy it. Blue Apple Players are great as well. Art is worth the investment.

A friend and I went here to see the production of 'The Trojan Woman'. The production took place in a decent size theater with the stage jutting out with seats on 3 sides (my theater terminology is failing me at this moment! I am so ashamed). It was a nice theater, first come first serve seats so you could pick your view. Tickets were fairly priced and they had a good selection and varieties of shows lined up. I hope to keep an eye open to see what other shows they may be doing in the future.

One of the best theatre classes for youth in town. Charlie Sexton is the driving force behind this successful program. This past season CTC completed Shakespeare's entire Cannon of plays. This isn't just a place of learning acting, it is a family!! Check out all CTC has to offer!

This is such a hidden gem. I had never heard of the Walden until a friend invited me to see Kafka's Metamorphosis. Most of the actors appeared to be young adults but they were incredibly talented and professional. In this particular show I was very impressed with their ability to use physical performance/ body language to really bring a very complex story to life. If you haven't been to the Walden Theater I really encourage you to go.

Blue StockingsThe presentation was very poignant and true to life of the position women held in our society at that time. We, TOO, were discriminated against, because of our gender. On a personal note, my grandmother was born 1897. My grandpa died, leaving her to raise four children by herself in the 1920's. She was a strong woman to do that, during the depression.Let us never forget where we come from.Marilyn McNeill
