Colby's

Was looking for a lunch spot while in town for lunch, and I heard this was a go-to spot for many folks. I can see why.I had a pork lunch special that was nicely cooked, quickly served, and reasonably priced...kind of a trifecta for a quick lunch (and, to be clear, quite tasty since the "nicely cooked" comment might not adequately convey the point!). Lots of options on the menu for every appetite.Service was friendly, attentive, and helpful.Good atmosphere, relaxed but not divey or anything, lots of space (I got there when it opened, and much of that space was full when I left--twas indeed a go-to spot).

What an absolute gem of a location we found on this rainy Saturday afternoon. My sister and I decided to start of with onion strings with in were amazing. We also ordered two different chicken dinners so we could split them. I the fried chicken strips and she ordered Hawaiian chicken dish. Both came with a number of different sides. She opted for a yummy salad and I grabbed a side of broccoli. The decor was pleasantly adorned with a tin ceiling and rustic furnishings. The best aspect of the whole experience was our amazing server Katie. She was so pleasant and offered great suggestions for what to order. She was so very charming and a peach to experience. Definitely will return

We have been here many times. Service is always great ! I usually get the roast beef manhattan because I love it. However, we have tried many other items and everything is always good. The inside of the restaurant is very nice.

Another Great Restaurant in Downtown Owensboro !!!I had heard about Colby's and always wanted to try it. I finally had an extra night in which I had the opportunity to try Colby's and went there for dinner. Colby's has been around since 1987 and is a staple in Owensboro. Their menu has many comfort foods, American Classics, Bourbons, Cocktails, some craft beers and a whole lot more. On my visit, I tried 3 dishes and a 'Wheat' Bourbin from a local distillery. First up was a glass of Green River Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon which set the course for my meal. My first choice of the evening was Colby's Classic Shrimp Louisianne which was Six large shrimp sautéed in cajun butter and served sizzling hot in a skillet with a side of Cheesy Garlic Bread. The shrimp were plump, juicy and full of flavour and a great starter. Next up was Colby's take on New Orleans Gumbo made with a blend of shrimp, scallops, chicken, onions, peppers, andouille sausage and rice. The 'cup' size was almost a meal itself with big chunks of andouille sausage and a palatable spice level. For my main course, I had the 8oz center-cut aged filet mignon served medium-rare with sides of mashed potatoes, brown gravy, sauteed mushrooms and veggies. The streak was a little overcooked but tender enough to be able to enjoy. The servers and the food were really good and I see why people flock to Colby's after all these years. Another great place to try when you are in the Owensboro area.

What a great place ! Loved the food , servers were great and overall just a cute place downtown !

Great food and service!! The menu is comfort food at its best. Good choices and the food was prepared well. The prime rib melted in your mouth! The place is comfortable and very pretty inside with lots of wood that makes it warm and booths and tables. Our server was Damicka and she was so friendly and efficient!! Service with a smile!! Only drawback is they don't serve outside tables and on nice nights we like to be out- but I'm glad we stayed for dinner! I would recommend it!

Kobe's is a fun place to have a meal. Set in historic building across from the courthouse I love the exposed brick and the decor. The service was impeccable. Everyone was friendly and helpful and checked on us just the right amount of times. My dining partner ordered the special of the night which was the pot roast. It was absolutely delicious. She shared a bite with me. I ordered the smash burgers. The portions were very generous. I have never had smash burgers before and realized it's not my favorite. I like my burgers, big and juicy however, they had nice flavor and a good crunch. The best of all for me was the dessert, chocolate pecan pie à la mode was out of this world. I highly recommend it. Parking can be tough, especially if you have accessibility problems.

Delicious food, fast friendly service and cozy ambiance in the historic district. The staff was great. We had a party of 12 and had great service on a busy Friday night If you arrive between 4-6 they offer early supper specials. We had the prime rib with baked potato and broccoli for $19.99 The serving of prime rib was a generous 8oz portion and we had to get a take out box! The drink and a desert was included in the special. We had three prime rib specials and two apps and our bill was just $70!!!Great place to gather with friends. .

I've eaten here several times for lunch. The service was always top notch, and the food good (some of the best chicken tenders around!); however, I was there on a Saturday evening, and I hate to say it, but it was the worst steak I've ever had. $30, and it was terrible. Absolutely little to no seasoning. For $30 I didn't want to let it go to waste, so I brought it home, seasoned it myself, and stuck it in the air fryer. The other meals at our table were average, to say the least. The kids pizza was a huge blob of cheese, and the house chicken looked like it was topped with cheap lunchmeat. The desserts that came with the kids meal and early evening meal were store bought. The brownies were the bite sized brownies you get at Sam's Club. Maybe they were having an off night. Maybe they have new cooks. I love to support local businesses, and will give them another try, but most definitely won't be ordering the steak again. 3 stars for the ambience and previous visits.

What a find!Food was delicious, love the decor & our server, Alex & entire staff were so accommodating. We live in IN but we'll definitely make special trips to get back there.Make sure to order potato chip nachos, wow is all I can say!
