Cicada books is exactly how it appears in the photos. Exceptionally cute and a great place to hang and read, buy some used books and drink a (fairly priced ! Might I add) delicious cup of coffee or tea. We stopped in on our way out of town just to drag our feet a little on leaving Wild and Wonderful WV, and ended up really loving it. The barista steamed the oat milk for my latte exceptionally well and the tea was steeped perfectly. The atmosphere was welcoming and seemed like a really sweet space for the local community.

Great little coffee place for those looking to do a bit of work or just hang out for a while. A friend and I came here with the intent to check out the fall festivities, though the rain had put a stop to them sadly. Still, this place made the trip worthwhile and I enjoyed a nice hot chocolate (and complimentary Halloween-themed shortbread cookie!). The barista was pleasant and answered our questions about the environs. We only checked out the bookstore section briefly though it did have an excellent selection, and even had a typewriter set up for aspiring typists to play around with. As a typewriter owner, it's always cool to see opportunities for the next generation to get a chance to work with these machines (if only so they can appreciate how much easier word processors are when it comes to editing!)I would gladly come back here again, and hopefully take more time to check out the books as well.Overall: 4.5/5 stars----Pros:- Great drinks.- Pleasant staff.- Quiet place to do work or look for a new book to dive into.- Easy street parking nearby.Cons:- Most tables are two tops, so if your group is three or more, you may have to improvise your seating arrangement.

Legitimately Cicada Books has the best coffee in town. Their book selection is also exquisite. I love it here.

Great Local Used Bookstore/Coffee Shop. The West End of Huntington has been on a revitalization upswing for the last few years. This location is further proof of the good that can be accomplished. I love the look/feel of this place and the employees make everyone feel welcomed. The shop is also within walking distance of Dutch Miller, which is great if you need to kill some time while waiting on your vehicle to be serviced. They've recently opened, but they have a great selection of used books (which my wife loves browsing/purchasing). Coffee and pastries tasted great and I can't wait to see them grow! Location is also close to the interstate, so you can make a pit stop while on a longer journey. They are also across from The Wild Ramp, so you can get your "energy" before shopping for great food! If you are in the West End area, I highly recommend stopping by and giving this place a try.

Cute little place. I don't live in town. Saw it on Facebook. Decided to try it while in town. Unique place. Music is soft and relaxing. Tons of books! Such a cute store. Great for central city. For sure better than going to a Starbucks with 500 people and overpriced coffee. Highly recommend you stop by!

Most magical coffee/bookshop in all of Appalachia. (Ive been to a LOT of them) The antique district is a thrifter's paradise and this place is the cherry on top! Great coffee and vibes! Could totally see them filming a hallmark movie here for the ambiance. Lots of local artists work for sale, too.

Great inexpensive coffee? The 2 baristas are so nice and friendly, too. I will come back here whenever I'm back in town.

Always super nice to talk to, very sweet workers, and fairly priced. I recommend to anyone, even if you do not like books or coffee, because there are also board games that are free to play. Just make sure you clean up after yourself and try not to lose any pieces!

I'm from out of town and looked at the reviews and thought this would be a great little used bookstore. Oh boy was I wrong. Used books I know aren't the best condition, but you'd think they'd only take books in a good condition. Well this store takes horrible condition books that I'd go to a yard sale and pay 5 cents for. The book selection also was horrible. Nothing was current and the "staff selection" or new books was about 6 new titles. Again I get it's a used bookstore, but every one I've ever went into took in new books that people would want to read. This one does not. We're also out of Covid, mask mandates aren't required (I get they're their own store so they can do what they want), but to require masks for everyone is ridiculous. We're trying to move forward not backwards. Wouldn't waste my time going here. Didn't even try the coffee walked in was asked to put on a mask then walked the store it was dirty and I felt like if I touched anything I'd have to wash my hands so I wouldn't drink or eat anything in here. I'll never come back here and if people ask me what to do from my travels here it sure won't be to come to this bookstore. The rest of the street was amazing and I recommend going to the antique stores, but you can skip this on your trip.
