Tina was a very gracious host at our tasting yesterday :) we were in town for my friends wedding and were exploring the local areas - now, Bardstown is known for its Bourbon, but one my friends is not a big fan so we headed to Chuckleberry. Tina greeted us and poured us 10ish fruity sweet wines. I loved the Strawberry, Pomegranate and the fudge! You can have a wine slushee too! Bonus, Tina advised us on other places to try. Gotta come see it's beautiful surrounds.

We got there about an hour before they closed and had a great time with the hostess. Unfortunately, I'm lousy with names and I don't remember hers. Anyway, just fruit wines and we tried 10 of them. Hopefully I remember most of them but they're all made on the premise with their own grown fruit or locally grown fruit. They provided oyster crackers and water to cleanse the palate which was greatly appreciated. First one was made with grapes and it was my overall favorite. The others were blackberry, Apple, peach, strawberry, cherry. and one that was chocolate strawberry. That was the most unique and interesting one of all. We bought a bottle of that one because it was much more of a chocolate taste than any wine we'd ever had. Just a good desert drink with some dark chocolate. Their fudge that we sampled was fanflippintastic. Overall a great experience. I'm not a huge sweet wine drinker, that's my wife's thing but if you're in the Bardstown area, go see them and sample some wine.

their Google page, Facebook page website says open..well they only open Friday Sat sun...a bit BS when people plan their trips and we show up and they are closed. hope you fail as a business. wasted time and lots of miles because the owners are to lazy or incompetent to update their hours on the internet.

We went to the tasting today. It was $7. We sampled 9 wines. They were all sweet wines and so delicious. You get to keep your sample glass. We bought the Blackberry and Pear wines. Lynn was so nice and didn't make us feel rushed. I like to patron small business so I'd definitely go back if I lived here.

Definitely off the beaten path but if you are a fan of sweet, fruity wine - it's worth the drive. I wanted to stop here in October with family but they were closed for an event. So that was a bit of a bummer and I've been wanting to return since. I finally had a chance to make it back this past weekend. Their tastings are fairly inexpensive for the samples and the number of wines. They grow their own grapes, blackberries, raspberries and even have their own bees that produce honey for their honey apple wine. I love this fact because it makes the wine better (or at least in my mind). The lady who helped us was informative and fun. She was also in the process of making the homemade fudge so we got to sample that as well. The dark chocolate was melt-in-your-mouth good! We sampled about 6-7 wines and then got to try the wine slushies as well. I could definitely see the wine slushies being good for summer but it was a bit too chilly for them this past weekend.I ended up with a bottle of blackberry wine, which was so smooth and with just a hint of sweetness. I will definitely visit again! Call before driving out there as they hold events but might not post that they are closed.

Okay y'all - I think I've officially found one of my new favorite wineries. Note that this is a fruit winery. It's definitely not for everyone, but for those who love sweeter wines, Chuckleberry is your perfect match! Who knew that there are so many wines that taste like your drinking juice? (As dangerous as that can become LOL.) This one is definitely out in the country, but their property is so beautiful. Apparently they do weddings too, if that's something that strikes your fancy. This winery has also been on the top of my list for most generous pours, and how many you get to try for the price. They also have wine slushies!! Tip: If you buy one of their wine tumblers, they will fill it with a wine slushy for no extra charge! I would easily make my way back out here to get my drink on, whenever I am nearby again.

Wow. I'm normally a little more of a regular grape wine guy.But...wow. This was really really tasty. Go in with eyes wide open. Its sweet fruit wine. But it's well balanced, and NOT some syrup. Well made, with love and attention to detail. Come to have fun. As they say: don't be a snob...it limits you.

Friendly folks and the wine was good. A variety of sweet berry wines. We did the wine tasting and got to keep our glass. The wine slushy is really good. They also have a space for weddings and other special events.

Not too far off the beaten path, the Chuckleberry Farm in Winery was a quaint location. They were setting up for a wedding when we got there. We were invited in and introduced to a wine tasting of 13 different fruit wines. The tasting was very reasonable at seven dollars and it includes a souvenir glass. I really like this place, if you're wondering why I scored at four not five, it was the quickness with which each class was served. I would have enjoyed it if they had slowed down a little. Don't let it deter you from coming.
