I purchase off of the traditional menu and I am very pleased with the food. The location is not the most elegant but the staff is friendly.

China island is your standard mom and pop shop for Chinese food. The building is small and cozy, the food is decent, and the workers are very very friendly! I've had better Chinese food, but I have a soft spot for the friendly staff which is what keeps me coming back!

Ordered 4 dinners and 4 egg rolls for Saturday carry out $50 order.Dinners were fine.4 egg rolls are much smaller and not as good as before.Asked for soy, duck and hot mustard packs.Got lots of duck but only 3 hot mustard-4 egg rolls? - Cheaping out.Asked for extra fortune cookies.Old guy at front desk dumped in a handful.Good thing I asked, otherwise I would have had none. The place used to be good but now they are just cheaping out.SAD!

Pretty bad Chinese cuisine. We tried about 6 different items to take home and share. Incredibly, none of them were good. Noodles were way overcooked, the rice was old and the rest was just tasteless. Never again.

Having lived close to this place for years without trying it, I thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered combination fried rice; no way to screw that up, right?Wrong! First, I got chicken fried rice, no pork or shrimp (this after the owner kept shouting "combo fried rice" back into the kitchen). Other than a couple of shreds of onion, there were no vegetables either. Plus they charge an extra $1.25 to put an egg in it, and somehow managed to only get a tiny bit of it in the dish. How do you get less than a full egg? Finally, the portion was much smaller than all of the other places I frequent. First and last time for me.

Best Chinese Restaurant in Cincinnati. The food is delicious, well made with fresh ingredients. I love chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and general Tso chicken. The best vegetable chop suey! Great dinner choice for New Year's Eve!

Ordered the shrimp lo mein and it was made with spaghetti but despite this short cut they charged full price. I will not be back.

Worst Chinese Food I have ever had! Was tasteless but to make matters worse, gave me food poisoning! Chicken Lo Mein advertised with bean sprouts and onions. 1 piece of onion and no sprouts at all. Won tons in soup were rubbery! Smallest spring rolls I have ever seen. Awful and will never go back!

This review is strictly on lunch carryout. The food is fresh with nice size portions. Very reliable on timing and packaging. No frills, just good food for lunch.
