Beautiful restaurant in Somerset, KY for high end dining. Chalet Gourmet is located on a beautiful property. They have indoor and outdoor dining. We'd love to try their patio next time! It's recommended to make a reservation and upon arrival we were seated in the quaint dining room. Ordered drinks and had tasty bread with Parmesan oil. Only wish is the bread was warm, it would be a nice touch! The menu had a little bit of everything from steak, seafood, and chicken, along with vegetarian options. I would have loved to try the Strawberry Salad it looked and sounded amazing! We ordered the Truffle Steak and Steak Frites (but on separate plates due to picky eater). Both meals were cooked well and tasted awesome! If looking for a nice upscale dinner in Somerset, this is your place!

We have been many times and are NEVER disappointed. From service, to apps, drinks, entrees, and dessert; you cannot go wrong. I love how they change up their menu seasonally. It makes me excited to go back again to try something else new.

Over the years, there have been numerous attempts to establish good dining options in Somerset/Pulaski County. Finally, after many failures, I believe Somerset has finally arrived with The Chalet. This new food option in Somerset is located off Thurman Road in what was once Holly Hills. The architecture of this place is simply unique. The exposed beams and woodworking inside would make the master carpenter proud. The ambiance combines modern decor with a rustic flair that creates a perfect setting for a special dinner or the start of a romantic evening. The menu for lunch is limited, but there is a more expansive dinner menu. The food presentation, taste, portions.. the atmosphere was phenomenal! I have had my share of fine dining experiences from all over the country, and I must say this place meets the expectations of some looking for dining options in New York City or the DC Metro area. Nothing was rushed; everything ran smoothly, and nothing took forever. They have set the bar of service very high for our site. We started with appetizers of Oysters Rockefeller, which were served baked on the half shell, with butter, garlic, spinach, and bread crumbs. I had the tea, which appeared to be freshly brewed and not pre-mixed. Next, my wife had a glass of Pinot Gris. Despite being a departure from the traditional recipe for Oyster Rockefeller, it was a unique and fantastic delight. However, I prefer to top mine with hot sauce, which was not offered, or some horseradish sauce to enhance the taste, but they were served with fresh-cut lemon, which helped to improve the taste. Finally, my wife had the Foie Gras--which was seared and served with wild berry compote, crostini, and micro greens. The Chalet salad is a traditional spring mix, parmesan cheese with egg and tomato topped with focaccia croutons (flat-leavened oven-baked Italian bread).I enjoyed the Fish and Chips for my entrée while they offered a Beef Wellington, one of my favorites, that I may try in the future. The fish was Rock Fish, a white fish with a delicate but sweet flavor, firm texture, and fine flake. It was served with tarter sauce and french fries. The more acidic sauce tasted fresh, although it is unclear if it is made in-house.We concluded with some of the dessert options. I selected the Creme Brulee. The custard was terrific, and the crust had just the right consistency. The Desert Flight offers a wide selection to accommodate the most discriminating palate. Finally, we enjoyed house coffee, an authentic piece de resistance to the evening meal. The staff is fantastic both in their attentiveness and detail. Chef Eduardo Nazario and Chef Michael Wells have done an excellent job in assembling a diverse menu. Our server was Ruthie, and she was a delight and very welcoming. This restaurant is certainly not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for; that being said, if you are looking for a unique, high, upscale dining experience amid Somerset's overwhelming sea of Mexican and Chicken Joints, this place defiantly stand's out.

The service was the best possible. Our waiter was amazing. Our appetizer consisted of crab cake and Brie, both were wonderful, my husband preferred the Brie and I preferred the crab cake which had lump crab in it. I had the crawfish etoufee and my husband had the beef Wellington. Neither disappointed us. It was easily the best meal we have had and in Kentucky and yes, we dine in Louisville and Lexington at the well known eateries. This surpasses every experience we've had.

I was pretty disappointed in this restaurant overall because I had such high hopes! We went for an early birthday dinner for me & I honestly wish we would have gone somewhere else. The vibes were...well, awkward. You feel like you're walking into a huge house & as soon as you walk in, everyone just STARES at you. Not a welcoming way to begin the night! Our waitress wasn't bad, she just didn't really seem to have any answers about any of the questions we asked about the food items; she had to keep taking our menus & looking it over herself & then handing them back to us in order to answer our questions. Overall, though, she brought our food out the way we ordered it...Except for the steak my mother in law ordered and the Beef Wellington my husband ordered. They were cooked nearly opposite of how it was ordered! The steak was practically mooing and the Beef Wellington was pretty over cooked. Nobody felt comfortable sending anything back, especially because the chef was out in the dining area hugging guests he seemed to know & taking pictures with them so it would have definitely made us feel bad doing that in front of someone he knew (completely a fault on us, not him). However, I will say my shrimp Florentine was pretty delicious & our starters of Foie Gras, Beef Carpaccio, & Crab gates were delicious enough that we would definitely consider trying it out again!

We came for an early Valentine's Day date and I made a reservation for the loft. This place is so intimate and quiet, the energy is so calming and light-hearted. The loft is darker and quieter, it's very romantic! Even with 3/4 tables full, it still felt like you were eating alone. Ruthie was our server and she was awesome! We didn't get appetizers, although we thought about it just for the sake of trying something new but ultimately we just weren't that hungry. The bread and oil before the meal was great! I ordered the Steak Diane and my boyfriend ordered the Truffle Pasta. Both were delicious, with enough to take for later so we could try each other's dishes later! There was a gentleman who checked on us periodically throughout the meal and he even let us know how the potatoes were made in house, I was just curious and he was super knowledgeable. Dinner was all around awesome. We tried the Chocolate Espresso dessert and it was to die for if you enjoy coffee but even my boyfriend who is partial to strong coffee loved it. It was the perfect size and a great end to dinner. I would recommend this place for any special occasion. :)
