Three of my friends and I dropped by Camp Springs Winery while on one of our "Gals Afternoon Adventures". We enjoyed talking to the owner who filled us in on the history of the family-owned winery and the local area. It is a small winery, yet very impressive when it comes to its homespun atmosphere. We relaxed while sipping wine on the porch where we gently rocked in rocking chairs, and were occasionally treated to the sweet flowery scent of blooms on the vines just yards away. We definitely will stop by again.

What an awesome place!!! Also a part of the Back Roads Wine Trail. After my wine tasting at Stone Brook Winery, I wanted to stop by Camp Springs Vineyard since they were so close together. Another beautiful scenic drive! The driveway for the winery, is located just north of box 6685 on Four mile road. You head up the driveway, you will past a red barn and you will see the post and beam building housing the tasting room and winery. Which is a really neat building. I was sold when I saw the rocking chair on the patio. Loved the floral wagon on the front too!Camp Springs started in 2005 which they started off planting Vidal Blanc. Opened since 2009. As you enter, you will noticed the Vintage Piano in the back corner. I love the tasting room (open and spacious with tables) which the decor is vintage. The gentleman working the counter was VERY friendly and helpful. It is $5.00 and you get your choice of 7 Wines. I only wanted to try three wines on the list (my preference is dry red wines) so he only charged my $2.00. Nice! I tried:-Vidal Blanc Reserve- This is a dry white which is tank aged. I must say out of all the wineries in Kentucky, their Vidal Blanc was my favorite. Very crisp, smooth and great taste. -Chambourcin-dry red made from locally grown grapes. Lightly oaked so you can taste the grape. -Cabernet Franc- A dry red, lightly oaked wine made from grapes grown on their farm. This was my favorite wine. Loved the oak taste! I had to get a bottle to take home ($15.00). Camp Springs Vineyard also has dinner on the weekends which they make the meals there. Includes Wine Tastings, Salad, Entrée and Dessert. I would love to try this! But you must make reservations. From what I read on the web, they also have a Grape harvest starting Saturday, Sept 12th. Just drop in and grab a bucket and pick some grapes. Call in for more info/pricing. How cool is that? I had a great experience at Camp Springs Winery and recommend coming here! The staff is super friendly and welcoming!

The owner here was so nice! 7 tastings for $5 plus we downed those oyster crackers like they weren't meant for palate-cleansing. We ended up with a few wines to bring home since there was a pretty good sale for Memorial Day weekend and the owner even comped our tastings 'cause he's the man. Probably not my favorite of all the wineries on the NKY wine trail, but there are some solid choices here and I liked that they try to source the fruits locally if they don't grow them themselves. We took a look at the wine tasting+dinner and found out that it's his in-laws that put those together. What a sweet family business :)

This winery is apart of the NKY back road wine tour. Not my favorite on the trail, but not the worst. The owner is very friendly and also very knowledgable. He even brought our tasting out to the front porch because we were the only ones their and it was a beautiful day. This place also has a super cool player piano that creates a really cool atmosphere. As for the wines he let us have 8 tastings for $5. Great deal. Also they have a honeysuckle wine made from pure honeysuckle picked directly out of their yard. Very unique! Great time had by all.

Visited Camp Springs Winery on a recent trip on the NKY back road wine tour. Their staff was friendly, good value of 8, yes 8 tastings for $5 and allowed us to sit in the space and enjoy snacks while on the tour. The wine was okay, nothing to rave about but worth stop along the NKY wine tour.

Camp Springs Winery is a small winery in Camp Springs, KY. The winery has been open for about 2 years, and they are definitely coming along as winery. My wife and I stopped in as part of the Kentucky Back Roads Wine Trail, of which Camp Springs is one of the stops. We enjoyed talking with the owner as we tasted their wines and had a nice chat about the history of the vineyard, his approach to wine making, and their plans for the future.Camp Springs is one you need to stop in at throughout the year. When we stopped in, they had run out of several seasonal wines they made in short batches, and they have some new wines coming out for autumn that weren't on the shelf yet. They had a Herbst wine they make for the Herbst festival, though, that was quite nice and had a nice smooth flavor and wonderful finish. As this winery matures, I expect great things from them. Definitely worth the visit, and we will be back again.

This was our second stop on the back roads wine trail today. While their sign said 4 tastings for $3 or 8 tastings for $5, the owner was quick to tell us that he would allow us to taste all their wines (11 options) for $5 of half of them for $3. With decent pours, this was a great deal! Overall the wines were mediocre, with most wines being too sweet for my taste. The owner's great personality made up for it though. He was willing to talk to us about the winery and wine in general when we wanted to, but also allowed us to carry on a conversation with friends. The best part about the visit, however, was checking out the working player piano. The owner allowed a friend to play the piano, and when our friend couldn't figure out how to get the player to work he stopped what he was doing and came to help. Just seeing the piece of history made the 30 minute drive worth it!

This was our first stop on the Back Roads Wine Trail of Northern Kentucky. It's a quaint little building on their property that they have converted into a tasting room. Most of the wines were made from fruit other than grapes. If you want a good fruit wine, he had quite a few to choose from. The wines we did try were too sweet for our tastes. There were a lot of neat knick knacks to look at as you sipped on the samples. And he had work by local artists for sale.

My friends and I had a delightful dinner on Saturday at Camp Springs Winery. They have dinner every Saturday prepared by Carlye, the wife of one of the winery's owners. The food was OUTSTANDING: we had Proscuitto-wrapped chicken with pesto orzo and broccolini, an apple salad for starters, and tiramisu for dessert. We each had 4 tastings of wine included in the price. We had an absolutely lovely time, the small room is charming with a player piano, quilts on the walls. The facilities are immaculately clean. One of the owners is the server and he did a wonderful job. We enjoyed the wines a lot and bought a few bottles, we particularly enjoyed some of the dry wines: the Vidal Blanc Reserve white and the Chambourcin red, both very good, dry, grape wines. We will definitely be back!!!

Camp Spring Winery is closed and out of business. It is a shame because they were great all the way around.
