"We've been coming to this park for years. I played here as a child and it brings me so much joy to visit here with my kiddos. They've since updated TV e playground, but they enjoy theirselves just like I did. When you come through the main gates on the left you'll see a beautiful garden of flowers and on your right you'll see baseball fields. A little further up and you'll find two playgrounds on the left and a toddler playground up on the right. The main big playground is great. It's fenced in for those of us with runners. It adds a little more security so your kids will be free to run around without feeling like they're gonna dart off away from the area. There are lots of different activities for all ages. There's a giant rope thing, swings, a huge play tower thing, a play tower for younger kiddos, and a metal obstacle course. This playground is 100% worth a visit if you're in the area!"
"Great place to visit do you have any interest in nautical things from the park you can see the dam and then across the river you can go to the locks locks have an observation deck that's probably four stories above the locks you can watch as both pass through the locks there are many educational postings educational to explain how the locks work pass through them even though it was off-season the park was clean and nice there were a few kids are playing but there wasn't many people there I recommend this place to take your kids."
"Easy Walker is an amazing park! It has a big walking trail, basketball courts, fields for soccer, baseball fields, volleyball nets, playground equipment, tennis courts, a pond, and more. Sometimes I like to just go for a walk here or take some lunch and hang out. The park is well maintained. I always feel safe here. The only negative experience I've had in my several years of coming here was encountering some aggressive dogs wandering around loose. Most people keep their dogs on leashes here so I haven't had any issues other than the one time."
"Smallish but very nice park on the busy Lexington road in Louisville Kentucky. The last week or so I've actually driven past this park a few times when going to dine in Frankfort ave. So it caught my attention. Today after having lunch at Ciao with my wife and my youngest daughter who is one we noticed they had there small spray ground going and it wasn't crowded. It was 90 degrees so we pulled over and said "why not, looks like a cool park". The park has some public restrooms, a tiny skate park, a playground, some swings and a little spray ground. My one year old who just started walking a few weeks ago had yet to experience a splash pad or spray ground so this tiny bit crowded concrete one was a perfect introduction. She loved it! She showed no fear or hesitation and she played hard! The playground was pretty updated and nice and we spent some time on that. I didn't have my older daughters with me but I'm sure they would have loved the skate park. It wasn't very big. But it looked cool and there aren't many skate parks in Louisville so it's nice to know about another one that exists. The only downfall to this park I have to put back on the city. The two trash cans in the parking lot were overflowing. And trash was blowing everywhere. It was obvious someone had a birthday party there over the weekend. We visited on a Monday around 130pm so they had ample time to get a crew out there to touch up. I didn't dare walk in the bathrooms to see them after looking at the trash in the parking lot. Overall still this is a super nice and fun park. Kids are in there last week of school so not sure how crowded this place gets. But if it doesn't get too bad I'd like to take my older kids back for the skate park and let my two youngest go wild in The splash park."
"A very nice, very large park. I really wish there were more shady areas and large trees. While they do exist, the majority of this park is grassland. I would definitely recommend that you bring hydration if it's a particularly sunny/warm day out, as you will need it.While Google Maps and Garmin may lead you astray, there are actually several places to park here (not just the one by the park entrance). If you keep driving past it, you'll see a few more (possibly more... My exploration was pretty limited). I will say that the paved bike/walking bath is very nice, well kept, and (at least today) pretty quiet. Very flat with lots of long rolling hills (although a few may prove tough to novices). I'm definitely planning on coming back to work on improving my very meager bicycling skills."
"We visited this area today to partake in the Lucky Leprechaun 5K put on by RaceRise. We only spent a few minutes in their facility. Parts of it seemed a little dated, but it overall looked clean and well-kept (especially the gym and daycare). While running the 5K, the ground appeared well-kept. I did spot a rather hilarious looking concessions trailer, but it didn't seem out of place and did a good job of providing the kind of ambiance I would expect in rural Kentucky. Would run here again!"
"Very large and scenic park that is attached to the parklands park system in the Louisville area. The entrance of this park starts at the rear end of broad run park. Like broad run turkey run does offer very cool walking trails and breathtaking views. While they don't have a splash ground or traditional playground like broad run they do have a great area to relax in front of the brown foreman silo. Which is a unique attraction itself as you can climb up there and take in all the views from high above. Like most parks and things to do in the parklands park system you can't really go wrong with whatever you choose to do. Loads of family fun to be had."
"Wish I could be here for the Christmas special that brown park does for the community. I was very impressed with the Halloween event the kiddos loved it and what a great walking parking and play area for the kids . Thank you for community that goes above and beyond for our families ."
"This is a solid municipal park area. Mostly aimed at providing sports facilities with multiple baseball, soccer and youth football fields, it also has two playground areas along with a 2 mile paved walking path. This is not the park to visit if you want to commune with nature out in the hills, this is a park to bring your kid to ride their bike on the safe paved path or play on the playground or to have a little picnic in the fresh air. There are many trash cans which, as a dog owner who has to clean up after said dogs, I appreciate a lot. Well kept with fences in good repair, lawns mowed and minimal/no trash on the ground (only that which like blew in on the wind overnight). A fair number of trees are spray painted with an X which usually indicates that they are dead and need to be removed but there should be enough left on the walking path to provide shade while taking out those trees most likely to land on one's head in a wind. No idea what the restroom facilities are like and whether or not they are open year-round; that is an important factor after all in visiting a park with kids or far from ones' home."
"Beautiful and scenic walking/nature park located in st Mathews are of Louisville just behind the st Mathews mall. This place is a very small and easy walking trail that has beautiful scenery, cool bridges, awesome photo ops and we seen some really beautiful wildlife birds. We seen a bunch of ducks with there babies, some larger bird I've never seen before, some Cardinals and some blue jays. I've lived In Louisville my whole life and I'm not sure I've seen this much variety of birds in a public area as I did today at this park. The hanging gardens type setup with stone benches is breathtaking and a guaranteed popular spot for photos. The whole trail has to be well under a half mile and is all flat so very easy and peaceful walk for all people and types. I'm very glad I visited this place. Was very refreshing and nice experience on a pretty day. I came today with my wife and my youngest daughter who is only 1. I'll absolutely come back and check this place out with my other 3 as I know they will love it and it does have a bunch of open fields to run and around and blow off some steam. Overall a wonderful park and I highly recommend checking It out if it is a nice day and you are in or newer the st Mathews Area."
"This is a very nice park with a lot of open areas to just hang out in and do your thing. You can run, walk, fish, bike, fly kites, play frisbee golf, photograph the wildlife, play volleyball, cook out, fly your drone, play soccer, kayak, sail boat, , paddle boat, feed the ducks or fish, relax, get some sun, or play in the playground. Just do it before dark as the park closes every night at sundown. The park has many different species of birds including a family of bald eagles. Some are here to stay and some are just passing through. You can see some of the locals out and about hoping to catch the perfect photograph of the day or a lifetime. I've seen some pretty spectacular pics from this location. Come check it out and please take out what you bring in or deposit any trash in the many trash cans provided. Have fun and enjoys this great location!"
"The Historic Tour is mind-blowing. The guide said there are 415 known miles of tunnels."

Nice park in Shelbyville. I lived in this area for many years and never even knew it existed. What a shame. They have a huge community pool with slides and other fun stuff for the kids. They also have a playground area, fishing and boat docks, BBQ and picnic areas and more. What a delightful park. Wish I would have spent time here growing up.

We drove it on a day trip ... we stopped to take a look but due to the flood water they had dam open to let as much water thru as possible. The banks were really flooded and some nearby roads were closed ... under water. There's a park and play ground equipment.

Four hours here with the van plugged in to a convenient power outlet. It's been cloudy the last couple of days so my onboard battery is low. So while the van is plugged in, I did some walking around this fabulous park.Baseball, basketball, volleyball. Playgrounds, walking paths, tennis courts. So much fun stuff to do!Beautiful park and I greatly enjoyed the walk I took during my lunch break![Review 19643 overall - 172 in Kentucky - 615 of 2023.]

Nice little park nestled in by Payne and Lexington. They have a water foutain play area for the kids in the summer-I always see a lot of families walking back from the park with their bathing suits on during the hot months. They have swings and a play area for the little ones. A very large grassy area that you can play frisbee in-the only problem is the mowing is not kept up with. (grass itches me if I am in the long stuff)They have picnic tables and garbages and restrooms/drinking fountain. I have been there when people are having birthday parties or other get togethers with their families. There is a paved path that runs around the outside of the park and the butts up against the wall of the cemetary-which is barbed wire fence. The park does allow dogs, at least we have not had any issues with our's being there with us while on a leash.

I only come here to play basketball in our church league but the gym is in excellent condition and there seems to be a lot to do for a family that lives close. If I lived in Versailles I would highly recommend you checking this place out.

Turkey Run Park at The Parklands of Floyds Fork is awesome! We visit this area often, and we always have a great time. There are miles of trails for hiking and biking, you can access the creek for kayaking, or you can visit the Brown-Forman Silo Center to take in the views. All of The Parklands are great, but I particularly love this area. It's absolutely beautiful, and there's so much to do. Plus, it's easy to customize your trip here however you like, you can spend as much or as little time as you'd like, based on how much you want to do. If you're looking for a fun spot to spend some time outdoors, you should definitely check out Turkey Run Park!

A nice park, right in the middle of St. Matthews. I walk here frequently, during all seasons. It has been a nice place to get exercise and fresh air during COVID. I really appreciate the Christmas lights that are put up every year. Adds some cheer during difficult times. This park is wheelchair accessible, has a playground, as well as walking/running trails.

"It's a fine location for cavernsI was a bit underwhelmed at what was there as we have seen some in Pennsylvania that were better. It was kind of cool some of the formations If you are in the area maybe have a visit but I would not travel from any great distance"
"Have you ever wondered why you waited so long to visit a place that ends up giving you great joy? That's how I felt during my visit to Yew Dell. It is a peaceful and serene spot that makes you forget suburbia and daily stressors. The entrance to the gardens is through an old tobacco barn, which also includes a small, but very nice gift area. When we visited, many potted plants that were grown on site in the nurseries were also for sale immediately outside the barn where you entered the gardens. There were also plant pots, garden decor, wind chimes, birdhouse and much more. In addition to the flowers, shrubs and trees, Yew Dell has a beautiful stone castle, a log cabin, a more modern barn that is used as a small eatery (Martha Lee's Kitchen) with an attached covered patio for sitting and viewing the grounds), sculptures, and so much more. There is a large pavilion for weddings, private events and ceremonies. There are many areas within the gardens that are perfect for engagement or family photos. The venue holds many children's events as well as adult classes and events. I never dreamed that I would enjoy the Fairy Garden as much as I did. Perhaps I'm still a child at heart?Hounds of the Ground is the name given to Sundays when leashed dogs are allowed (see website for blackout dates when dogs are not allowed). A large part of the grounds is wheelchair accessible as well as the large and very clean and modern restrooms. Parking is plentiful in a designated lot. I know that my husband and I will be frequent flyers as the entry fee is so reasonable and each season would have different blooms and features."
"After a week of being stuck indoors with a horrible cold/flu, I had a raging case of cabin fever and the need to become one with Mother Nature. Tom Sawyer was the closest park to our home and we ended up there. WOW!!! I am ashamed of myself that this beautiful park has been in my back door for the past 3 years and I have never ventured into its paths of wonder! I have a sneaky feeling that I will be back often as it is huge and has so very much to offer. I saw soccer fields, volleyball nets, an actual paved landing strip for remote control planes (how cool is that!), picnic tables/sheds, children's play areas, and so much more!! There are several walking paths with plenty of benches for when you feel the need to stop and rest or reflect. I enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness of ambling along several paths today. I can't wait to come back again!"
"If you are on the way to something else and happen to breeze by this national park, then by all means, stop. If you go out of your way for this national park, don't do it. If you need a stamp for this national park, then I guess you have to visit. They have a small museum, some trails, you can see the spring, the monument and that's about it. Inside the monument is a replica of Lincoln's childhood home. There is a boardwalk leading from the visitor center to the monument. We were done with the entire thing in 20 minutes."
"While out and about today I found myself wanting to go for a walk. Being a ways from my usual walking spots, I searched Yelp to find a nearby park. Robsion Park was close by ,so hubby and I found our way there. The park is directly behind the Lyndon post office and parking can be accessed using the driveway beside the post office. Posted hours for the park stated "Dawn to dusk."I was surprised by how well-maintained the park is and how much larger it was than it appeared at first glance. There is ample paved, private parking. At the entrance to the park are two large play areas for children. One appears to be for the younger set and the other for older children. There is a half-mile paved, level walking trail around the perimeter of the park with a short paved bisecting walk if one doesn't wish to go all the way around. All of the walking path has trees lined on either side for shade. There are multiple large, grassed areas for volleyball, badminton, hacky sack, soccer or anything else one could desire. There are covered picnic areas and restrooms. The restrooms were open for use, but I didn't go in them. There were panic/help buttons throughout the park for use in emergency situations. This park is perfect for dog walking and also is a perfect park for those who may require level, paved paths. I look forward to returning with my dogs!"
"Ok, we ended up nearby in our RV with an extra day or so as we wait for hurricane Ian to leave SC so we can drive home. We wanted something interesting to do and we have never driven off road, so Hollerwood Park was our choice. We rented a Polaris RZR and spent 4 hours on some incredible trails. They have anything from easy to outright insane. We stayed on the easy green trails. The four hours is not nearly enough time to cover just the easy trails and if you are adventurous there are even more advanced trails waiting for you. The Polaris was in excellent shape, almost new. It was a pleasure to drive. The suspension on the machine made the rough trails smooth. There was some mud, so keep that in mind as you pick your clothes. Dress like you are going on a hike. It was a total blast. The experience was totally worth it!"
"Use to be a really nice park with big spacious areas good sized playground and basketball court. A lot of the same stuff remains but it just so ran down and not taken care of. So many "bad" people go there to do or sell drugs. It like anytime of day you can pull in either parking lot and see something shady happen. Sad to see that happen to what use to be a great park."
"I only come here to play volleyball. It is $6 for a day pass for all machines and access to the facilities here. Not a bad deal. They offer a work out facility, swimming pool, basket ball courts, showers, walking track, and much more that I probably don't know about or left off. Their gym is clean and open. The staff is friendly and some what helpful. At one point I was playing volleyball here 2 times a week and asked if they had a month to month membership that I could get so as not to pay everytime I came, their response was a bit lack luster for me. Apparently if you don't live or work in Georgetown their fees out way the $6 a visit fee. Oh well. I tried.I haven't used their gym for anything but volleyball, but I do enjoy it a lot. If you are in the area and in need of a work out facility, give these guys a shot. Even if its for a day or two, they can accommodate."
"This park has THREE, very big, age appropriate play structures... AND a water play area! So bring your towels and sun screen for a water play on a hot day! Your kids will be so tired and ready for a nap if you spend the morning here. It's located by the four bridge pedestrian bridge.I see a ice cream shop, a food truck and a snack shop steps away. There's lots of picnic tables too! Parking seems to be limited but it also seems that someone's always leaving. There are lots of families who enjoy this park so expect it to be lively."
"Great spash-park and playground. I know it is hard to find places for the kids to go so this makes the park a wonderful place for Oldham Co. The missing star is for the problem they have with daycare groups. It is a great resource but the care workers should actually MONITOR the kids they bring. Now this isn't a problem of the Park, but if they allow the large groups to come there should be some rules that the groups agree to follow and then the groups should be aware of the rules and follow them. It's pretty much mayhem - I saw one kid - a 9 yr old? - pee on the toddler tractor walkway so that his pee hit the other boy that was underneath the walkway. No One was Monitoring these kids! And I tried to say "Please don't do that, there are restrooms right there" to which the kid replied with a rude remark. Just one more reason we need to train our kids up to be responsible and respectful. The workers were 2 middle-aged ladies and a group of teens. The ladies were sitting in the shade and the teens were all hanging in a little cluster laughing and talking. Totally cool on your own time. All that to say that if you are going, you may want to check to see if a day-care group may be there that day. If not - head over and enjoy! Also - take a bag for your own trash as the cans may be full. That way you can help to keep the park nice! Way to go YOU for doing your part!"
"My favorite Kentucky State Park campground thus far. My review will be based on the campground though, we didn't do anything else at the actual park or golf course. It is close to downtown but this campground isn't lacking in trees, it has the normal rustic, campground atmosphere.A few things to notate that could potentially cause issues... -The campground office closes at 5pm. We arrived at 6ish on a Friday. We drove around to the office area of the golf course and a man just said "set up wherever you want to, as long as it doesn't have a reserved sign, and then pay in the morning". So we did just that, set everything up to stay the weekend. The next morning there was a reserved sign with someone elses name on it posted at our site. They apparently had reserved it online for Saturday and Sunday. So we had to pack everything up and move to a different site. You can reserve online for an extra $7.50. The next time, we will either pay that extra fee and go that route or attempt to call and book it that way. We won't try it the same way again. It was really our fault, so we can't knock them for it. Just know that's how it works.-There aren't sidewalks outside of the campground, so it's not ideal to walk to anything surrounding the area. Be prepared to drive, even though the distance between the camp ground and attractions seem walkable, while researching things. Again, not the campgrounds fault. -Heaven Hill and Willett Distilleries are the closest distilleries. We walked to Heaven Hill from the campground, but I wouldn't' recommend walking it to anyone, because it really wasn't safe due to the lack of sidewalk.-The electrical hookup boxes are shared between two sites. So make sure that you have the proper voltage extension cord, or else you will blow a breaker. The boxes are also a bit far from the site pad, so you will have to have a long extension cord. It's not ideal, but we knew that after researching this campground.I loved the smallness of the campground. There are only around 39 sites. Because there is so many attractions in the area, many of the people staying at the campground left during the day, so it was quiet during the day when we practically had the campground to our selves. There is only one shower house, and it only has two showers in the ladies shower house, and the water was hot. It was the cleanest that I've witnessed in a state park. I think that's probably because most of the RVs have their own bathroom, so the bathhouse here doesn't get used much. There is so many places to dine within close proximity, that you don't have to pack or plan bringing any food. There is a restaurant almost directly across the street from the campground. It's called Roby's Caddy Shack, and I'd recommend it."
"Playground area is well-maintained and provided a welcome play break for a 3 and 5-year-old on a recent road trip. We played, picnicked and passed some time relaxing before hopping back on the interstate. Fall is a lovely time to visit. There is a huge tree on the corner and its red, orange and gold leaves, as well as the foliage from all the trees around the park, made it a pretty as well as fun stop. We were also treated to the sights and sounds of a train passing just a couple blocks over, which was lots of fun for the kids, as well as the beautiful music of bells from a nearby church playing some of our favorite hymns while we ate. There are two covered picnic pavillions and a paved parking lot. There are also restrooms but during our Covid visit, they were locked. So, do what we did and visit the Artist Village Welcome Center (separate review) a block down the street for another fun adventure and restrooms. We also visited the Memorial from whence the park gets it's name. From World War I to the Iraq War, local veterans are honored with flags and an engraved marker and I was happy to read their names and honor their service as well."
"You must park along the street to access this park (or live in the neighborhood). It's in good shape, but the playground isn't huge. There's also a basketball court and small shelter with a grill."
"The Green River is beautiful and this state park offers a great area for hiking, biking, and anything outdoors. We did one of hikes that goes right down to the lake, offering beautiful views. I would especially recommend coming here in the fall, when the leaves are changing colors. It's a great park!"
"This is a nice historic park in downtown Georgetown. It's peaceful to walk through here by the water or sit on one of the benches. There are 2 cabins and a picnic shelter. The most interesting part is that it claims to be the birthplace of bourbon!!!"
"As a runner, I am immensely lucky to have a place to stay close to this park when I visit Louisville. This is a great place for cross training, hill workouts, or a relaxing and recovering walk. The fields are suitable for yoga and meditation, the options and opportunities are simply endless here.Throw in a bit of history, a small cemetery, a playground and a beautiful mansion and this is a great place to spend good healthy, clean air, time. There are facilities as well which is a nice bonus and tennis courts for the tennis enthusiast.Joe Creason is a wonderful playground, try to wake up early enough to see beautiful hers of deer roaming about before the sunrise."
"So much fun!!!! Please do yourself a favor, go to the shows and GO HORSEBACK RIDING. For 25$, you ride for about a mile and a half in a group. Each horse is chosen for you, depending on your size and experience. You're taught basic commands and the horses are well trained. They follow each other in a line and they don't stray. I don't have any experience riding and was really nervous, but had so much fun.The shows are great, and petting at the end is encouraged. I loved learning about each breed and getting to know the horses personalities. The museum is amazing too, you learn so much about jockeys and the history of racing. Totally worth it."
"I love this park! It's never crowded. It's a great place to take your kids to play, to take photos, to have an event, work out, play frisbee golf, take your horses, your kayak, a picnic, whatever outdoorsy things u want to do or like to do at a park, this one is the one for you."
"There's a $10 fee to park in the parking lot but worth it for climbers! There are very clean bathrooms, lots climbing opportunities, and they have 8 stick clips available for borrow (free and honor system of returning). We climbed here for two days and will be going back. There are routes for every skill level. Climbing routes are well maintained and well marked."
"217 acres of hiking trails in Oldham KY. This park was once the property of the Morgan family for over 100 years. A cattle and tobacco farm, the park itself is 252 acres and was part of the much larger farming operation. The park was acquired in 2003 and sits adjacent to land that is still owned by the family. There are over 4 miles of trails throughout the park which highlight its various features and terrains. Waterfalls, geological outcroppings, and even an old burial site that was owned by the Abbott family and dating back to the mid 1800s. The Morgan Conservation Park is home to many species of birds, mammals and amphibians. The park now preserves numerous types of wildlife and plant life and ensures it will be enjoyed by generations to come."
"Childhood park I played at almost everyday growing up in okolona. I've spent countless hours playing basketball, exploring, playing in playground and everything above at this park. Even though I am grown I still take my children here as much as possible. Every year at Easter we have a flashlight Easter egg hunt at night with my kids, nephews and nieces, and children from the neighborhood. Great new tradition that we all love. This quiet, spacious, nice and clean park represents a big part of my childhood memories and will always be special to me."
"My absolute favorite park in the city of Louisville. Massive park systems that connects to multiple parks, walking trails and amazing sights. Thai particular portion of the park has a very large spray ground that I've taken advantage of numerous times with my children. It also has a massive playground area. Fair warning though on hot summer days when going from the splash park to the playground to have the kiddos and adults put on shoes. They use rubber matting and it gets scorching hot on the bare feet. This park if you keep driving through does eventually connect to turkey run park and the brown foreman silo which is a cool sight seeing opportunity. I've yet to discover all trails and probably never will as there are so many options. The small walking trails towards the entrance are very peaceful, moderate difficult and beautiful. I can not recommend this park enough. Every time I go I fell like I discover a new part. Always lots of fun and adventure for all ages."
"Have been wanting to come here for awhile and what do you know? It was on the way from Kentucky to our flight out of Nashville!! So excited to finally see the giants. There is a suggested donation of $15 per car but they are so nice about whatever donation you may want to give so it's so worth to support this place. We couldn't have picked a better day than today! The weather was perfect! The fall colors were amazing! Parking is easy right by the visitors center. Loved looking around in the center to see what we can buy. Restrooms were convenient by the door and clean. And you can walk right back out and start your hike to see the giants and surroundings. So many beautiful picturesque spots! The trees are colorful! The hollys are budding. And the giants are adorable! Easy 2 mile hike to see them. They have maps and signs that make it so clear! We still got lost but thank God for GPS and the map lol made our way back to see the sister giant and looped back to the visitors center.Wish we had more time to explore but we had to rush to Nashville for a flight. But I highly recommend a stop here if you can on a gorgeous day like today and picnic and hike around. I so enjoyed it! And if by chance we are near here again with the kids we'd love to come back!"
