"What an amazing place! Not only do they serve excellent ice cream at a great price, but it is served with an awesome smile and infectious energy and smiles. We were fortunate enough to be the only two people there at the time and we got to talk to the owner and her mother. After just a few minutes talking to them, they made us feel as if they have known us for a long time. Unfortunately we live almost 2,500 miles away or we would be back at least 2 times a week if not more often! They have personalized the store with many antiques which are tastefully displayed. And they have a wall where they are displaying pictures colored by children. We went in as customers and left as friends!"

"I don't know what people are used to paying for their ice cream and coffee but clearly they don't go to Graeter's. I've seen comments on and off Yelp about prices but don't get it. My husband and I checked out this welcome addition to the Highview neighborhood and were mostly pleased. He got a chai, I got a mocha, and we shared an ice cream in a cup. It was about $11. (Come on. Starbucks. Graeter's, people.). And everything was quite good. My 2 complaints were the woman who took our order forgot our ice cream and we had to remind her, but they upped the size to apologize. #2: WiFi is limited to half an hour, and I telecommute so I'm always looking for good WiFi, and this was not it.Try them out!"

Family owned and operated, they have a solid menu and there's something for everybody whether you're looking for a meal or dessert (or like us, both). My dad is like a walking billboard for them and can spout off the daily specials with a moment's notice (hello Thursday's Chicken and Dumplings!) and this is our go to place when we can't decide what we want to eat since we know they have such a wide variety. The Beer Battered Fish sandwich with the house tarter sauce is delicious. The fries are enormous. You will not leave hungry. Baked Beans and cole slaw round out a full meal. The hotdogs are a good option as well. They offer a call-in to order but allow them about 20 mins as they make everything fresh to order. Their hamburgers are some of the freshest around. The food is not frozen burger patties that are not massed produced. This place is genuinely a very welcoming and down-home restaurant--highly recommended."

"This is a great hidden gem. We stopped in for a dessert and had some ice cream and a mangonada. Both were very good. The I saw they had an horchata latte so of course I had to have one because I enjoy coffee and horchata. Who knew this was a thing and yes a tasty thing at that.Then I saw they have tamales on their menu and I (again) love tamales. So I got a couple to go so I can have them for breakfast. "Brand new Ice cream place located in the okolona neighborhood of Lousiville just off Preston Highway next to southern high school. I'll admit I was curious that they opened an ice cream place right here. After all dairy Delight literally across the street has been a massive neighborhood staple for I'd say over 50 years. Thai place has an inside so they can remain open hear around where dairy Delight can not. Maybe they are hoping to grab there off season business?So I think this place has only even open a few weeks and they are still working out the kinks. They do not have any signage up other then the window decals. Inside they have a few small tables but no menu up yet. We asked the lady what all they made and she gave us a few options but we was just gonna go with ice cream. The flavors they had were very limited. Like they didn't even have regular chocolate. Crazy right? That can be forgiven though because they are only $2 a scoop and the scoops are generous. So I can live with that. We decided to all get a scoop of ice cream. Me and my second oldest got cookies and cream. My oldest and her best friend also got a strawberry cheese cake and coffee ice creams. All 4 of us thought the ice cream was great. Very good flavor. My oldest and her bestie also got this spicy, fruit Mexican stick candy thing for 50 cents. Neither of them liked it. But it was cheap and they got to broaden there taste buds experience. Overall I'm hopeful for this location. They have a lot of kinks to work out. They need to get a menu up so we can the full scope of offerings. They need more Ice cream flavors. Right now they have a sign that says cash only but the door has a visa and MasterCard sticker. So not sure if sticker is from old business or if they don't have machine up. But if they are going to be a year round sit down and eat place They will want to accept cards. If they can work out these kinks and remain cheap then they can stand a chance. Residents of okolona are loyal long time customers to small businesses. And taking customers away from dairy delight will be difficult but not impossible. And as stated this place has opportunity to be year around so they could absolutely share clientele and both succeed. I look forward to coming back and seeing what if any updates are made in the coming months."

The coconut cream pie and banana pudding are wonderful. She sent the banana pudding in a Corning Ware dish and both desserts sitting on a rimmed baking sheet to make them easier to carry. So thoughtful and trusts that her customers will bring things back! Both desserts are fabulous. The meringue, which was on both, is the best I can remember having. It also has held up beautifully in the refrigerator. Can't say enough about the food, her service and her desserts. There were six of us sharing the two desserts and there was little left the next day. All agreed they were fabulous. Highly recommend her desserts."

They have a few picnic tables set up outside, which is nice on a summer night.
