"This is a great facility. They take really of are of the course and it's great for those that don't have the cash money to afford one of those fancy private clubs. Trey(golf pro) is awesome and they do some great camps for kids. They have a 19th hole called "Bills Saloon" that has a great atmosphere, good food, and a nice place to hang out. You will not regret making this one of your go to golf stops."
"I really liked this course even though I was awful here. This course provides plenty of good shade with large oak trees on each hole. I really liked the scenery and the look of the course. There were some really nice par 3s and some brutal par 5s. The houses are wisely off the course giving plenty of room for my slice to keep me playing. The rough can be tough for finding balls but the fairways are very nice. I like the greens as well as they alternate from easy to read to what the... They also have good quality golf carts, built in GPA, friendly staff, and well established hole markings. The biggest negative here that they don't have a great lunch/eating spot. The food is a basic deli sandwich for 5 bucks which looks like it cost $1 to make. Plus they don't have beer on tap or any quality beer. They have your basic bud, coors, miller, and michelob. I guess I will buy the $2 Powerade instead. I just enjoy the feel of nature and look of the old oaks and creeks."
"Course was completely overgrown and there was a lot of standing water. I know there had been a lot of rain, but they should've warned us before we went out. If your ball was in the rough, you couldn't find it. It was about 7" long. Our cart died and our partners had to push us. There were no bathroom facilities on the course. We were a little disappointed this year. The staff was friendly and helpful though."
"I give this course a four because it is well kept for a $20 fee. It's not a long course by any means, but that's a plus for me as my score is in the 100-115 range. This is not a typical 4 star course. There are much better courses in the area, but not for $20 on the weekend."
"I was a bit underwhelmed with A.J. Jolly as a park--the playground equipment is spread out all over the place and a bit run-down and out of date. If you're looking for that kind of experience with that age group, there are other parks in the area that are significantly better (Alexandria Community Park, for one). If, however, you are going for other activities--the golf course, the horse trails, and maybe water activities (fishing, and I also saw one kayak-er there), it could be a wonderful place. Having not personally experienced any of the above, I can't specifically comment on those, but those seem to be more of the focus of this particular park. One thing I didn't realize before I went is that this is a paid-entrance park. A day pass is $5 for a family/carload; season passes are $15 for Campbell County residents and $20 for non-residents."

Pretty nice little course. Guy in the clubhouse was SUPER nice and helpful, considering I told him it was my first time at the course. Good value course, especially for $22. Long drive for me, but I'd def play again for the price.

Highly recommended by the golf coach Lexington Christian Academy, we called on a Saturday morning and got a 12:25 tee time. Rated as the 4th best in KY. Great round of golf. Good bunkers, smaller greens and mild rough. Good food in the clubhouse.

Well manicured golf course. Interior of the clubhouse is slightly worn and dated. It could certainly use a new coat of paint and maybe some new furniture.Club house restaurant has decent food but it could be much better. With a little bit of an upgrade this place could be awesome.

Southwind offered a challenging yet fair course. The greens and fairways were in very nice conditions considering the lack of rain. Highly recommend Sourhwind.

This was my first time at AJ Jolly Golf Course, and I was very pleased with the beautiful golf course and friendly staff. Special thanks to Mr. Terry Jolly for being such a great host.

I'm always eager to try out a new course, and from the few pictures I could see online, I was very excited. It had been raining for the previous 2 days, so the course was soggy in spots, but not awful by any means. Honestly, there were only soggy places on about half of the holes so the drainage system is working well. The grounds crew was mowing, making great striping patterns on the fairways and improving the course conditions. This was one of the prettiest courses I've ever played. The rolling hills came into play on several holes and made for an interesting layout. The greens were undulating and very fast, a testament to the care paid by the staff. From the Blue tees, the par 3s are longer than many other courses I normally play. A few holes are high risk/reward. Particularly the par 3s. Strategic bunkers and mounds in front of the greens give you the option of risking it and going for the flag or making the conservative play to the broad side of the green. I was forced to make the conservative shot a few times but when I went straight for it (and made the right swing) on the 12th hole, it paid off BIG. Hole 10 is featured in my photo. Hitting over a beautiful lake at a fairway that is slightly angled right makes for a scenic and interesting way to start the back nine. I didn't go over to it, but this facility has a short course for beginners to work on their game.Despite the somewhat challenging course layout and somewhat soggy conditions in spots, I was able to shoot a personal best 78.

It was my first time to play this course with family. We went just to use the driving range... which I enjoyed and decided to play a round. It has been 14yrs since I played a lot of golf...so, we played best ball. The course is still young in golf course years. The greens were in great shape and fast, but please take the time to add this course to your bucket list.

"I think Gibson's a great golf course. Several of these holes are really well-designed and just a lot of fun to play. #5, #7, #14, and #17 all come to mind right away. The staff's always been friendly when I've visited. Parts of the course are a little out of shape, but I can't think of anything else to say negatively about it."
"Beautiful 9 hole golf course! The course was challenging with rolling hills and a winding creek throughout the course. Both par 3 tee boxes were elevated so that you hit waayyyy down in to a valley. Very interesting! Staff was welcoming and friendly. My only complaint is that the bar area allowed smoking, so it smelled. But this may be a positive to smokers :) Fun day at a fun course!"
"Awesome course, pretty tough & a ball-eating monster but all the while gorgeous. Absolutely stunning backdrop of Bardstown woodland, makes it picturesque."
"I'm not as much of a golfer than I am a good wife, so I find myself at random golf courses about once a year. Kentucky has gorgeous golf courses and this one is no exception. I love the fact that you can book directly from the Yelp app, that automatically gets a star from me. I have to admit though, my husband booked from a different site and when we got there I noticed that we can go through here... for less $$!Our tee time was 8:15. No, I don't like waking up that early on a Saturday morning, but remember... I mentioned that I'm a good wife. When we arrived, the manager/owner or whoever he was, came out and talked to me and was very nice. Like at most other courses, we started out with a Gatorade and a candy bar. They have random ice cold water coolers throughout the course too, which I thought was a very nice touch. There were at least three holes that had to be played over ponds. So if you like that challenge, you will love this course. Let's just say that we lost a lot of balls. Some of the balls ended up in the woody areas surrounding the course, which I thought was a bit too close to be so brushy this early in the year... it's not even summer. Another oddity is the busy roads that surround some holes. That's where the brush and woods should be, to guard the windshields. It started to get very busy on the course. Most people were in groups, so they let us go ahead, there's a lot to golfing etiquette. If you're afraid of bridges, stay away. There was a very scary one that you have to cross that can use a lot of work. Overall it's a nice, older, inexpensive course that can use some changes or updates. Until then, we will settle for the low cost."
"Big Blue is an awesome layout and great green complexes; however. like most courses (public) in Kentucky the greens are spongy and do not roll true at all. It makes so much of a difference with firm true greens. Bunkers and tee boxes are well taken care of aligned with great fairways. Wildcat in my humble opinion is a better (traditional golf) layout with more character to the course. If they placed real sand in the bunkers and made the greens firm and superfast; this place would be outstanding. Great layouts on both but I wish the greens on both were absolutely firm and fast. Only downfall. Prices are actually reasonable in comparison to most courses. Staff is great as well. 3.5 for both"
