"The best donuts in town. They are oddly heavy to the touch but fluffy you eat them. My absolute fav!"
"We heard so many good things about this place and finally tried them at last. It lived up to the buzz big time. We arrived later in the day and it got busy real quick. This small shop was a little overwhelmed keeping up with delivery driver and four takeout orders. They had sold out of the some things already. We got chicken, rice, and other stuff. Warning the ginger juice is very strong and needs a warning label. Can't eat in and has a small parking lot. Call early to get stuff before it sell out. You got to try this Caribbean gem at least once. I will be back many times to come."

"Run, don't walk to Back Deck BBQ to get some of the best, consistently high quality barbecue that this city has to offer. I first learned about Back Deck BBQ on a social media foodies group. I'm always eager to support a black owned business, so we went during the busy Derby weekend and were absolutely blown away. We've since visited several more times, taking multiple family members there, and each group loved it as well. The staff is super friendly and personable. The food is superb. Our favorites include the ribs, smoked sausage, and Mac and Cheese, though we've yet to try anything we didn't like. We always top it off with Lady J's lemonade (Blue Raspberry and Pink are our go-tos).We've never had an issue getting in and getting a seat, but seating is limited. There are several long picnic tables inside and some seating outside, so keep that in mind if you have a larger party."
"The Rolling Oven knows how to do pizza! And veggies! The wait for your food is worth it because it comes sizzling out of the wood-fired oven. Ingredients taste fresh and delicious! At this location, you order at the register and the food comes to you. The employees are AWESOME. Would go back again and again!"
"This place is really cool, tacos are delicious and nothing tastes better once you've been out all night than a few delicious tacos from this place."
"Great bbq for Kentucky. Glad it's available and would recommend. Not much more I can add."
"I'm from NKY and my son goes to physical therapy 3x a week at Frazier Uof L . While he's doing his thing I have been checking out the town and this restaurant cafe was fabulous! Home made soups were superb and their selection of hot and cold sandwiches were amazing! Service was quick. There's an alley behind the building that leads to a parking lot behind the building. Order at the counter and they will bring your food to you. I will definitely go back!!"
"First of all a high-five to Spencer, the most energetic, friendly and efficient waiter we have encountered in a long time! This restaurant's sign caught our eye and we thought...why not?Housed in a former Denny's or Shoney's means it is roomy...but some of the seats show their age.The BBQ was nothing extraordinary but definitely tasty. The mac & cheese needs some work as the pasta was mushy. Choice of two sauces (1 sweet and 1 hot )I would return if in the area again."
"Finally after of wanting to stop in got to check it out. The good was Fantastic the people were great. Went back for more and will definitely be back. I have sent few of my friends there. Did not disappoint. Can't wait to try more"
"So much more to choose from this place is not hidden gem it's the go to place if you come this way!!! My wife went with the smothered burrito it looks so huge. While I decided to try the Philly cheesesteak. There is so much to choose from and we haven't even gotten our awesome desserts yet. This is a Military friendly location!!!"

I wasn't sure about giving this place 4 or 5 stars. I only had the glazed donuts so hard to give 5, but have no reason not to. The owner was very friendly, reminded me of how Bardstown road used to be in the mid-90's. The glazed donuts were good. Looked different than other glazed donuts I've had but tasted great.

They have pompano today!! Once I confirmed by phone that they do indeed have pompano today, I quickly placed my order. 30 minutes later, I picked up my fried pompano meal! It consists of a whole fried pompano smothered w a hot (or not) relish, on top of beans and rice. The relish is made w tomatoes, onions and Scotch bonnet peppers. It is tasty, savory and 4/5 on my hot scale: hot enough to make me sneeze, but not enough to stop eating, lol. The sauce is great mixed into the rice, too. As far as whole fishes go, pompano is one of the easier ones to navigate since there is only one central bone. I polished mine off quickly. I will definitely come back for more!

i may be biased because my boyfriend used to work here prior to us meeting and swears up and down its the best pizza in the world, and i fear he may be right hahaha this genuinely is the best pizza ive ever had! and that Classico sandwich?!? its been a couple weeks since we ate here and im STILL thinking about the sammy i'm not a beer girly, but the bartenders are super friendly and helpful with making recommendations and i appreciate that one of the bars offers beer AND cocktail selections! also loved the feel of the 2 buildings being separate, yet open, with a central outdoor courtyard area- if i lived in lex i would be here every single weekend, but for now it'll just be our go-to staple when we're in town

BBQ and Mac and cheese were very good. The green beans were over the top salty. Meat potion was smaller than I expected.

If you're looking for some place that's "souper," Crave Cafe is it! For a recent lunchtime team call for work, we were directed to buy some soup from a local restaurant to show off on Zoom. Lucky for me, Crave Cafe is three blocks or so from my house. It had been a bit since I last visited, but my recent experience lived up to my previous ones. I ordered via phone the "Souper Fecta," which is 6 oz. portions of three soups of the day. This day's soups happened to be chili, tomato basil and seafood chowder. This tasting portion was perfect. It was just enough of each to make it fun. The tomato basil was my favorite. While a simple soup, it had some depth to it. The chili had a bit of heat to it, and the seafood chowder had a few chunks of seafood deliciousness in it. I was able to pick up a few minutes after putting in my order via their side window, which they've outfitted with plexiglass to keep customer and staff separate. And even better, the parking spots in front of this restaurant were open, making parking for a few minutes very easy. Crave Cafe is a key lunch spot. Don't overlook it!

From Saratoga to Atlanta, I headed west because I love the Smokey Mountains, I spent a fair amount of time within them. But I had to get to Kentucky by lunch - 24 East 40 East Chattanooga - Knoxville - ten hours of driving already. I wanted to drive the Kentucky back roads of horse farms & wildflowers. My buddy's '65 Mustang died along his way to meet me - it's been giving him problems, some fuel pressure matter this time, so I sat on the patio with Iris and ordered the Pretzel that the server recommended. Beer cheese and another cheese dipping modifier, the suggestion was perfect - and we waited sitting just off the highway - it'd have been nice to have a beer but the road sometimes never ends, it always starts again. Finally the Stang rolled in - we ordered away. Dry rub wings for me - double combo of meats and sides for him. The drumettes were so plump, oddly more meaty than I prefer which I realize sounds weird - but I like just a bite and a half per - and I much prefer wings to drumettes. With such an abundance of chicken meat, I consumed about thirteen out of fifteen and took the rest. The star penalty is for the prepackaged blue cheese, Ken's brand I believe. It was not capable of proper dipping due to its rather small circumference and bland taste.

"I had never been to the former food truck but I just discovered the new restaurant at Zandale yesterday and it is great!! It's a fairly large place with many tables and even a lunch buffet ($11.99). I wasn't really in the mood for a large meal so I just ordered 3 tacos ($2 each). I tried pastor, Asada and compechanos (steak and chorizo mix), I really enjoyed all of them but the chorizo was excellent. They also have tortas ($6.50), quesadillas, and other Mexican street food favorites! They did not have a salsa bar but they have red and green salsa In squirt bottles that they bring to your table. I will definitely be back, very soon!"
"The vibe is lit here! Walked in to De LA Soul bumping on the radio and the decor is perfect. Just past 18th st and Jefferson st this corner is occupied by sweet heaven. There is a lot or you can park on the street. It smells amazing in here, they even offer boozy cupcakes by the dozen if you want to order. Cake shakes, cookies, pies, slushies, they have it all I'd recommend dropping in and giving them a try. I got the strawberry crunch cake shake.. no regrets"
"These tacos will fill you up. Plus they are as authentic as it comes. I will have to go back to try more of the menu but the tacos were a great start. Suggest calling ahead to pre-order, they get busy and it can take a while."
"The steak and pork are amazing. At only $2 a taco these are the best. We ordered them for lunch at school. Quesadilla was large and loaded for only $6. Arrange for lunch or a dinner night. Delicious. Authentic."
"A newcomer to the Fern Creek area. This food truck doesn't serve burritos but does serve some amazing tasting tacos. Like most food trucks, the tacos use two small tortillas. Price per taco is $2. I think most people were ordering 2-3 tacos. I did order some tacos but also ordered a chicken quesadilla for $5. Quesadilla- rip off. SO small and nothing great about it. Go for the tacos. The food truck is located at the Valero Gas station and has couple small tables ( 4 chairs each I think) but most like me were ordering to go. There's another food truck that serves tacos and burritos maybe 10 minutes just down bardstown road but the tacos here I think were better. But maybe it was just because I was so hungry at 11pm on a Sunday. I'll have to go and taste some more of their tacos another time just to make sure I really did like them that much."
"Waitress Pam was a delight. I would visit again just to see her. My group tried chicken sandwiches, burgers, a Philly, chili cheese fries, onion rings, and the root beer float. It was ALL good. The prices were fair for the amount of food and the quality service. Highly recommend!"
"We love Comete Alguito! The food is cooked with corn oil and all of it is gluten-free, so it's a very allergy-friendly place. I had the veggie arepas and couldn't get over how tasty everything was! Also, the churros are divine. I highly recommend checking out this food truck!"
"The Str8 Drop food truck came to my apartment complex on Friday 9/22/22 and we got two orders of wings and fries, plus the chicken teriyaki dumplings. Our food was ready within ten minutes, which was great because the truck was very busy! The chicken wings were a good portion of meat because the wings were medium sized. I preferred the smoked version over the buffalo sauce. The buffalo sauce was a bit greasy for me, and not very spicy (though that is personal preference). The fries were okay; they were not salted or seasoned. I was relieved that the teriyaki dumplings were plain with the sauce on the side, because I did not want them tossed in the sauce. They were nice and crispy. I always love a good dumpling! I would give the Str8 Drop food truck another try in the future, and switch up the sauce."
"A few people have told me about this raco truck in Advanced Auto Parts parking lot. I havent cooked dinner this week...so decided to try it out. I looked at the website and wrote down what i thought i wanted. Once i got there, i ordered a barbacoa burrito, chicjen quesadilla, 2 steak tacos, 6 barbacoa tacos, 1 cup of esquite corn and a side of rice and beans. The young lady that took my order was helpful and answered all my questions and even gave me some business cards and let me know that they will come to your job for a couple of hours or your neighborhood. That is awesome! As for the food. Had a couple bites of the corn and rice and beans. Both great. Ruce was very fluffy and the beans had a very hearty taste to it. The batbacoa tacos is my favorite!!! You mush get them. Little too much cilantro but i just took some off. Not enough sauces for everything i ordered. I will have to get extra sauces next time. Im taking the burrito and quesadilla for lunch the next two days but i just know im going to love it! My order came just above $40 and i left a $10 tip. Always tip!!!"
"Finally tried this awesome food truck on Nicholasville Rd, I will definitely be back!! Got the torta with pastor, it was amazing. Their salsas are very tasty and hot. Glad to have more Mexican street food options in the area. Definitely check this one out!"
"Magnificent brisket. Meat from The Fatted Calf. Wonderusly prepared. Generous servings. If you can, get yourself anything from Cottons."
"D is an amazing cook trying to get a leg up in Georgetowns small restaurant scene and deserves the recognition. If you like a greasy spoon and a dive that leaves you feeling full and puts a smile on your face I've yet to find one better."
"My favorite taco place. The first place I ordered tongue taco as well and it was sooo good. I was scared but the meat is very tender and delish so now lengua tacos are my favorite. Their steak and chorizo are also good. They'll always ask if you want everything (cilantro, sauce, radish). They have other options as well. The burrito is massive and stuffed with the typical beans, rice, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños and choice of meat. The quesadilla can be greasy but filled with cheese and choice of meat - it's HUGE. Enough for two. They're usually open late night too and personally I've seen days where the hours range. They do have a table or two by the taco truck and cold drink options in a cooler on the outside. It's right next to the storage unit and a car wash. Park, order, be fulfilled."
"Caught this orange food truck out of the corner of my eye and naturally I whipped a U'y to scope it out. Aha, taco truck! Score! What I stumbled upon was a one man show taco truck. A lot of menu items were sold out by the time I got there so I kinda had to settle for 2nd choice items. I ended up with a pastor taco and a couple Campechano's. For taking orders and cooking at the same time I was impressed, he didn't leave people standing around but kept food coming out. At first glance, the tacos took me back to my childhood when my mom would take me to Mexico and we would stop at the first taco cart we saw. Yes, cart not truck. Small simple tacos with just cilantro and onion. These were the gone in two or three bite tacos I remember that were so addicting that they're ordered one at a time as if it were a sampling menu. I could imagine this place on a dirt road in Tijuana bustling with groups of people shouting "Otro más!" While small, I do think the price is fair considering what you'd pay anywhere else and these were not skimpy. The pastor tacos were good, not dry as I find at most places. The campechano tacos had chorizo and steak. The steak was noticeably marinated and wasn't just chopped up bits of steak like you find at every Mexican restaurant you find around here. I still can't tell if the tortillas were hand made or bought. Either way, they were really good. They weren't bland and had a fresh masa taste to them. They also held up well and didn't fall apart after the first bite. The tomatillo sauce was great. Not overly salty and added freshness. IMO, tomatillo should complement not steal or ruin the show and this did just that. I may or may not be spoiled from my childhood in LA and ventures to Mexico so I can be a tough critic on tacos, but I also have a soft spot for nostalgia. I think anywhere else I might give this a three, but for this region, four stars easily. The tortillas were so good. The meat wasn't just a filler protein. Shockingly the tomatillo sauce wasn't over salted like most places. Overall, everything I had was good and stood out ingredient wise. I don't think it would crack any of top spots but this is so much better than what I am used to around here. Come hungry, come early, and don't go far. This is taco's but taco cart style, a la carte."
"Came again and wanted to try some different. The staff was quick and brought my order to my car since it was cold out. Everything was so tasty."
