This review is for the range, not the store.* I was visiting a family member who also shoots and he suggested I pack a pistol so we could go to the range the Friday after Thanksgiving (black Friday). Since it was our first time there, we had to register on a laptop, entering our info, which took maybe five minutes. Even on Black Friday we were able to go directly to a lane and start firing. (For new shooters, it's convenient that Bud's supplies ear and eye protection for free. The first target is also free.) The lanes themselves are what you'll find at any commercial range. The target computer was easy to figure out, and the range master gave us a quick explanation of the usual rules. Everybody was efficient and friendly when they found out we'd never been there before.The price was quite low: for sharing a lane for just over 1/2 hour, it was only about $25 for both of us. * We did pass through the store to get to the range, and it had a huge selection. I didn't look at the prices, but Bud's online usual competes at the very low end of the price spectrum.

I was naive enough to believe the ratings on Buds Web page and ended up with a defective gun. I consulted a gunsmith who told me he would never use it (Beretta Tomcat 32) for conceal carry because it was dangerous. It stovepiped more than 33% of the time. All of my emails were ignored. Once I got someone from CS on the phone, he told me that I wouldn't be getting my money back because I fired it. How would I know it was defective without firing it? He said that he sent emails to me saying that I could not return it. I never received an email from these robbers. I finally resorted to the Attorney General of Ky. Today I received a letter from the AG which included Scottie Moran's letter to them. In it Scotty lies like the crook he is. Scottie also says that he sent me an email saying that I would get a refund, no letter from Scottie. Scottie from Bud's Customer Service is a liar. I have to laugh when Soy Scottie told me that I could not have my money back, I replied, "We'll see about that." This attitude is why Bud's Gun Shop has so many one star reviews. I live in a place where people are honest so this was quite a wake up call. Do not trust these thieves.

-CA GUN OWNERS-. Stay away from this place. I ordered the 380 conversion kit for my Sig p365. They told me to call them regarding my order not compliant with the state. They said they cant ship it out because it is not on the CA roster. Is this a joke? 1- Sig P365 is on the roster. Numerous models on CA roster. 2- Conversion kit is not a gun. It is just a slide and barrel. What does a conversion kit have to do with CA roster? Really???? I just ordered it from Sig website without any issues. Buds gun shop is a joke.

Worst shipping policies ever! I am a FFL and for handguns they are supposed to ship with any carrier second day air. They do not do this and my last several orders have taken over 4 weeks to receive. It's unfortunate because I like the vast inventory they have but getting an item in a timely manner is a huge problem with Buds. DO NOT ORDER FROM BUDS IF YOU WANT YOUR HANDGUN DELIVERED FAST!

If I could give this business a zero star rating I would. My father in law is shipping me a rifle that was very important to him and I had him ship it to Buds Gun Shop. For one I can't even get them on the phone to ask if it has arrived because every time I call they either don't answer or will hang up. I went in in person the other day to inquire and the man at the counter told me that he wouldn't even try to check and that I should have just called. When I told him that I had been trying to call he said "well we are too busy to answer the phone". So they can't answer the phone and they won't help you in person either. I asked if I could leave my name and phone number and he told me they would most likely just lose it anyways and to not bother. Super disrespectful and frustrating.

Service has continued to drop from sub optimal to pitiful. I prepaid and ordered several firearms. Went to pick up items and was continually ignored by staff chatting with customers, not showing any guns. Selection is poor compared to 5 years ago and prices are comparable to big box retailers. Probably my last purchase and visit to Bud's in Lexington.

I placed an order for a handgun @ budsgunshop.com & subsequently found it elsewhere for $100 less. When I went to cancel the order @ Buds they imposed a 10% cancellation fee, well before it shipped & despite my having a long history with them & spending many thousands of dollars on their products. I will NOT do business with them again!

Customer service is nonexistent. I was looking forward to visiting this store only to find surly staff and a very unwelcoming environment. I did make a purchase but will not be going back. There was not a smile or talkative employee in the place. Every one of them acted like they'd rather be anywhere else. I dont support businesses like this even when they offer a decent value. Their selection was not that great, especially on accesories and ammo.
