Bourbon On Main

Rachael and Allie were taking care of us, and they could not have been more helpful and wonderful. The environment was amazing and was only 3 minutes away from Buffalo Trace Distillery. We are looking forward to going back especially because of the exceptional service and comfortable environment.

This place came recommended from our Buffalo Trace tour guide, and it was easy to understand why once we were there. Great hospitality from the bartender who we later learned was the owner. We enjoyed having a drink outside on the deck overlooking the river. We came back a second time and found the same great service.

A group of three of us went to Bourbon on Main for dinner as we were staying in Frankfort for a few nights hitting some of the close distilleries on the Bourbon Trail. We were seated quite promptly as we did have a reservation and though not all tables were full, there seemed to be a few parties waiting outside. We expected that they were likely short staffed and it seemed to be the case as it took some time for any wait staff to get to us. The bourbon pours were quite overpriced in my opinion and given the relatively straight forward ambiance of a general restaurant, didn't seem to have a strong bourbon theme other than the name. We got general burgers/sandwiches for our meal and it was not great, but not terrible overall. Service was slow and very basic just taking the order and bringing it to us. What really made us feel great that in two different distilleries when asked where we ate - unprompted - two different individuals at Buffalo Trace and one at a smaller distillery I won't name as they have a small staff said to stay away from Bourbon on Main. While there aren't a ton of choices for restaurants in the Frankfort area, I think you may want to try a different location. While I also didn't rate it highly - eating at Goodwood next door had better ambiance and food - though still seemingly short staffed.

We really don't like giving bad reviews, but after reading so many good reviews we wondered if we had stepped into the same restaurant. The place was pretty dirty, the carpet leading upstairs to the main restaurant was filthy. We were given utensils in bags and no napkins or water. Had to ask for both. The cocktails were overly sweet and came several minutes after we had started eating the appetizers. The deviled eggs were good though.The mains arrived and we can only ask how can you mess up a salad, but apparently you can. It was under seasoned, the cheese was not what was promised, and the mandarins were canned. The chicken was dry and tasteless. Fries were meh. We had to ask for our second drink order as it did not show up. I hope that if you decide to visit Bourbon on Main, yours will be a five-star experience because ours was not. We will not be back.

This place is a gem. The atmosphere, food, and service was great and beyond. Our waiter was very attentive, professional, and friendly. She ensured we had a great experience and follow up us often during the meal. I opted to have Indian Butter Chicken. The dish was season to perfection and very flavorful. The portion size was more than enough. I highly recommend this dish. My coworker had the chicken BLT and loaded fries. She also enjoyed them. However, she really like (my dish) Indian Butter Chicken. If you ever in the area please check them out

We never saw a waitress until probably 10 mins after we were seated. Then, we got our entree before any of our drinks (coke zero and an old fashioned from the bar) and we never did receive the appetizer we ordered. The food was good. The atmosphere was nice, cute little place. Service just wasn't great. Food came out in less than a half hour, we just didn't get our drinks until way later and never got the app.

They must be having some staffing issues because the wait and service took way too long. Even just walking into the restaurant, it took almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged. That should have been the first sign for things to come. It took another 45 minutes to be seated because the bartender was the busser as well and could only get to clean tables the chances he got between making drink orders. We were there after their lunch rush. The menu is very small and they can't make any customization from what's exactly listed on there so there was nothing my son could eat because he's very picky. I don't understand how this place gets such good reviews. There are no redeeming qualities here. The fish and chips was super greasy and over fried. If we hadn't waited an hour and half to actually eat I would have sent it back but at that point I was just ready to be done. Very poorly run causing an awful experience when in town visiting and wanting to enjoy our vacation.

I really can't complain. Food was good. Plenty options on bourbon. The Kentucky hot chicken; not hot...more sweet with the maple. Good, but it more-so reminded me of chicken and waffles, which I wasn't in the mood for at that time. I do have to say the 'house fries and dips' REALLY should come with a disclaimer... when the waitress showed up with a 12in platter piled high with fries...I couldn't help but laugh, because I DEFINITELY did not expect that large of a portion! I needed more people

I went with my family, and we had an amazing time! There was live music, the food was incredible! And their service was quick and speedy! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Hey there, today i visit this restaurant with a big group. My friend Howey ate a Chicken sandwich with an amazing fork and napkin. The most important part was the restaurant forgot to give him his prime limestone water and ate the driest sandwhich of his life. NVM the sandwich wasnt dry. My three other friends got the worst beer in the state of Kentucky. And the burgers were so mid and undercooked with no pickles and cold fries. Sincerely, foreign state visitors.
