I ended up in the Bottle Shop after seeing some recommendations on Facebook. It's not the greatest location, but there were plenty of spots to park at on the street. I'm not a huge fan of the fact that they have to keep their door locked, but I get it. My husband and I were the only ones inside while we were there, however a few people came and picked things up at the walk-up window that they have while we were there. The shop itself is very clean and very tidy and organized. The prices on bottles were just about msrp and very reasonable-especially for Kentucky. They didn't have anything too rare on the shelf and I don't know how they handle their allocated stuff- sounds like they keep it in the back and might pick and choose who gets what. The bar is really nice and the selection is pretty epic. The prices for pours are really good. I love that all of the bottles have tags on them with the prices for a pour clearly marked on them. It's one of the best selections with the best prices that I have seen in Louisville. I would have stayed and drank more if I didn't have plans. The staff member, Raymond, was incredibly friendly and helpful. The only con that I can mention is that when we paid, I never got to see the actual total- not a paper bill or on a register/swipe reader. They automatically added a 15% gratuity for the bar- which I was okay with, but had I been made to sign (which I was not) I would have added more to the tip. I also would have liked a receipt- and I might have been given one had I asked, but I think that should be automatic. All in all, I really enjoyed the bottle shop. I would recommend it to people looking for a nice place to drink. They had a decent selection for bottles as well. I will definitely be stopping back in.

What an incredible find! What looks like just a regular bottle shop on the street ends up being such a magical hidden gem in the back. Baron the bartender was witty, kind, and so freaking knowledgable. The prices are stellar, and the selection is out of this world. I can't wait to go back. We had such a great time!

This place was amazing. We found it walking around and figured we would check out the selection. The store has a nice variety and good prices (nothing super rare for sale.. at least not currently but still a big selection). The tasting area on the other hand had tons of allocated bourbon by the ounce at very decent prices for most (like $5 an oz for EHT or OWA). Every tasting bottle was labeled with a big tag so you didn't need to ask over and over how much a pour cost as you do at many places. We went back twice in one day... they make old fashions with sazerac rye with homemade simple syrups and they were amazing and only $5!! Randy was our main server and he was awesome. Cool vibe in the shop. Also hard not to mention the bathroom was amazing... we discussed it as a joke but more of what you expect at a high end restaurant than a bottle shop. We will be back.

Interesting hole in the wall atmosphere. They have hard to find bottles that you can get a pour for a reasonable price. They also have some hard to find bottles for slightly above retail. Service was good and the guy doesn't just let anyone in off the street. Worth a shot if you are in town.
