Enjoyed a delicious meal at the Blue Holler Cafe after checking in and setup at Nolin Lake State Campground. They have German dishes on the menu that are a definite must try on your visit. They do not serve adult beverages, but you can bring your own beer or wine to enjoy with your meal. Shoutout to our server Cricket, she was fantastic, friendly, helpful and pleasant.

Had really hoped for breakfast, but was a little too late for it. But the kitchen was kind enough to add an egg to my bologna sandwich, which was a happy medium for me. So service was great. Kraut was good too. It's a cute place with a nice backstory. The locals are lucky to have this place.

Nice hidden gem. Quirky decorEnjoyed the schnitzel. Great crunch on the crust. Would've enjoyed the kraut more if it was less sweet. Overall I think everyone would enjoy the trip. Beautiful scenic drive to the cafe.

Nice hidden gem. Love German food so had to stop. The 24oz pretzel is massive, fun for the kids. All the food we had was flavorful, the home kraut was by far the best. I could have eaten a gallon of it.Thank you

Fun little eatery we stopped at on our way from Mammoth Cave,Ky. Nothing fancy but some interesting choices. A very local place but seems to get traffic from others traveling from the cave. Breakfast served until 11 on Sunday. Choices for lunch included sandwiches, pastas, salads and chicken with sides, pies for dessert. Service no nonsense in this very casual restaurant. You will like that you stopped.

What a great find in the Mammoth Cave / Lake Nolin area! We stopped for dinner and liked it so much we went back for breakfast two days later. Hard to find authentic German food, especially outside the city. Go, you won't be sorry!

True to the home cooked meal feel. We enjoyed the bratwurst and potato salad (tangy). Worth a trip out if you want to try something different from hot dogs, burgers, and pizza.

What a great little place! My husband and I stopped here after spending a few hours hiking at Mammoth Cave. We stayed in Glasgow to see a bluegrass concert at The Grove (highly recommend), so the Blue Holler Cafe was actually out of our way. We liked the reviews and love a good schnitzel, so we decided it was worth checking out. Boy, are we glad we did! Ms Claudia is more charming than the restaurant, and her food is delicious. The schnitzel was seasoned perfectly, tender, and crispy. We both enjoyed the German style potato salad and kraut (with caraway seed). We even started with a pretzel. I'm usually one to bring leftovers home from a restaurant, but everything was so yummy that I didn't leave a scrap of food behind. We will be sure to revisit if we're ever in the area again.

This place is awesome! I had an 8 oz burger with fries and it was one of the best I've ever had! Service was decently fast, but I think if there wasn't a huge group ahead of me it would have been a lot faster. I also ended up caving in on an apple pie, which was definitely worth it for the price. This place feels like it could be someone's kitchen/dinner table, so it made you feel at home.
